* DW published a report on June 5 titled “Are the Middle East's 'electronic armies' the most dangerous of all?” In this report, DW delves into what came to be known as “electronic armies”, who work online, but they can be as dangerous. According to an advocate from Access Now, the idea of an electronic army is simple, and it is essentially when "A group of people assume false identities in order to participate in internet forums and social media to send, or suppress, a specific message." The report indicates that there have been cases of activists who were assassinated, as there are many electronic armies who work on the behalf of paramilitary groups. For example, the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), affiliated with Iran, has the largest and most active electronic army. The report also highlights that the danger of this also stems from the fact that people in the MENA region do not trust traditional and official media to a large extent. Instead, they turn to social media for news and information, as a 2020 survey shows that 79% of youth aged 18-24 get their news and information from social media. 

* Albawaba reported on May 31 that the Syrian regime is restricting the movement of youth in Daraa and Al Qunaitra. This decision was announced by the “Public Conscription Directorate”, which affiliates with the Asad regime, and it denies youth in the south of Syria from traveling outside the country, unless they pay guaranty. The report highlights that the reasons behind this decision are unknown, but it speculates that it might be related to the attempts of youth in the south of Syria to flee the country escaping their inevitable fate of forced conscription, especially that any Syrian who is 18 years of age or older must get approval from the “Conscription Units” if they wanted to issue passports. 

* The Syrian Democratic Youth Council held, in a collaboration with Youth Councils of Al-Tabaqa, Raqqa, and Deir Ez-Zour, and the Female Youth Union, its third youth panel discussion. The session had two components, the first one was titled “the Syrian conflict and its impact on youth and the implications of this multiparty war and the impact of radicalization on youth”. The second component was titled “the role of youth in building defense and civil institutions in self-administration and in decision-making, and the role of youth in confronting the occupation and direct Turkish violations in Syria, how to combat extremist ideology and employment, and finding ways to solve all difficulties and methods of developing and building the youth group.”

* Yeni Safak reported on June 4 that 4 Palestinians were أصيبوا in a raid by Israeli soldiers and settlers on a house in the City of Hebron in Palestine. An activist at “Human Rights Defenders” was an eyewitness and indicated that a settler brought some soldiers and some settlers, and they all violently attacked an 18 year old Palestinian, Wassim Jaber, and severely injured him. Then they barged into his house and began attacking his family in front of him. The witness added that the soldiers sprayed two individuals with mace and hit a woman in the foot with a stun grenade and attacked an individual who  who tried to help. The witness cited the event with a video that shows that the Israeli attackers used rubber bullets, live bullets, gas bombs, and stun grenades without justification. 

* Aljazeera reported on June 3 that the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) indicated its readiness to mediate an exchange of detainees between Palestinians and Israelis, as Israel detains about 4,650 Palestinians including 39 women and 180 underage children. The General Director of the ICRC, Robert Mardini also highlighted that an entire generation of youth from Gaza only know the siege and hostilities, as he raised questions about the future of Palestinian youth who are living under the longest military occupation in modern history. 

* Martin Griffiths, the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, spoke on June 3 that Yemeni youth need to comprehend the fact that Yemen is for Yemenis not for the parties of the conflict, during his participation in an online discussion session on the Yemeni conflict organized by the “Aware Youth” Platform. 

* The chairman of the Executive Board of the Revolutionary Council in Taiz Governorate in Yemen, Baleegh Al-Tamim, called on the youth of Taiz to form a popular committee, a youth initiative, or a community body to monitor local authorities and executive offices and ensure they carry out their duties and activate the simplest services for citizens, most notably electricity, water, and transportation. 

* Alwehda reported on June 4 that the spokesperson of the Peaceful Sit-in committee in Al-Mahra in Yemen, Ali Mubarak Mahamed, accused the Saudi forces of allowing the entry of drugs into the governorate to destroy its youth. Mahamed questioned how drugs entered the governorate since Saudi forces control all of its entry checkpoints and ports in addition to its airport. 

* Elnabaa reported on June 3 that the Egyptian Criminal Investigation Directorate arrested 5 young Egyptians for the possession of Crystal Methamphetamine and Heroine.
