* According to several Emirati ministers, the upcoming World Government Summit is set to play a vital role in shaping the future of the UAE over the next 5 decades. On Tuesday, they participated in the WGS Dialogue, in anticipation of the Summit's 8th edition, that is set to take place on March 29th and 30th, in Dubai. Shamma bint Al Mazrui, the Emirati Minister for Youth Affairs, has emphasized the importance of the WGS for the youth, stating that she will establish the Arab Youth Center (AYC) during the Summit. The AYC is meant to "enable talent in various fields, nurture growth, enhance skill and encourage career opportunities" for the youth in the region.
* The National Rally of Independents, a social-democratic party in Morocco, discussed the importance of reconciling the youth of the country with its politics.

* وفقا لعدد من الوزراء الإماراتيين، من المقرر أن تلعب القمة العالمية للحكومات دورا حيويا في تشكيل مستقبل دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة على مدى العقود الـ 5 المقبلة. شارك الوزراء يوم الثلاثاء الماضي في حوار مجموعة العمل، تحسبا للنسخة 8 من القمة، التي من المقرر أن تعقد يومي 29 و 30 من آذار / مارس في دبي. وأكدت شما بنت المزروعي، وزيرة شؤون الشباب الإماراتية، على أهمية فريق العمل للشباب، مشيرة إلى أنها ستنشئ مركز الشباب العربي خلال القمة. ويهدف البرنامج إلى "تمكين المواهب في مختلف المجالات، وتعزيز النمو، وتعزيز المهارات وتشجيع الفرص الوظيفية" للشباب في المنطقة.
* ناقش التجمع الوطني للأحرار، وهو حزب اشتراكي ديمقراطي في المغرب، أهمية التوفيق بين شباب البلاد وسياساته.
الاقتصاد وريادة الأعمال
* In an effort to inform the youth and help them face the challenges they're confronted to in the current economic and political climate, the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) published a series of brochures. This initiative, which is part of the AMF's Vision 2040, is meant to help familiarize the Arab youth gain familiarity with the basic concepts of finance and economics. The latest edition, entitled "Short Selling and Buying on Margin", introduces these concepts as a means to help the youth understand the depth of stock markets.
* In an article for Arab News, Mona Alami stresses the huge challenges that Iraq will be facing in light of its growing young population and lack of economic opportunities. She states that the country has "a significant youth bulge", with around 7 million people between the ages of 14 and 29 and that by the year 2030, this number is expected to reach to 10 million. While the most pressing issue the Iraqi government faces is the high rates of unemployment and the inability to give these young people economic prospects, it is also suffering of other issues, such as food insecurity and lack of infrastructure.
* The 13th EmiratesSkills National Competition ended on Thursday, with a team of 60 Emirati youths who were announced as the winners. This competition is meant to put forth the technical and technological skills of the youth as well as inspire them to embrace careers in technology.
* On Thursday, the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development signed an MOU with the chain LuLu Hypermarkets. With this MoU, the chain commits to providing many low-income Saudis with support and a good work environment. The head of human resources and legal affairs department of LuLu has stated that they "believe that the youth of Saudi Arabia is well equipped with the power and energy need for the Kingdom's future growth".
* Al Arab has reported on the potential issue that might arise within Tunisian youth: an addiction to internet and more specifically an addiction to electronic games. In an interview with Al Arab, sociology professor Zuhair Ben Jannet has stated that the Tunisian youth are one of the most likely among the Arab youth to use the Internet. He explained that many people find a safe space in the Internet, with a virtual space that presents "an alternative world" for a youth that lives in difficult conditions.

* في محاولة لإعلام الشباب ومساعدتهم على مواجهة التحديات التي يواجهونها في المناخ الاقتصادي والسياسي الحالي، نشر صندوق النقد العربي سلسلة من الكتيبات. وتهدف هذه المبادرة، والتي تعد جزءا من رؤية صندوق النقد العربي 2040، إلى مساعدة الشباب العربي على التعرف على المفاهيم الأساسية للتمويل والاقتصاد. وتقدم الطبعة الأخيرة، بعنوان "البيع القصير والشراء على الهامش"، هذه المفاهيم كوسيلة لمساعدة الشباب على فهم عمق أسواق الأسهم.
* وفي مقال نشرته صحيفة عرب نيوز، تؤكد منى العلمي على التحديات الهائلة التي سيواجهها العراق في ظل تنامي عدد سكانه الشباب وقلة الفرص الاقتصادية. وتقول إن البلاد لديها "تضخم كبير في تعداد الشباب"، بوجود حوالي 7 ملايين شخص تتراوح أعمارهم بين 14 و29 عاما، وأنه بحلول عام 2030، من المتوقع أن يصل هذا العدد إلى 10 ملايين. في حين أن القضية الأكثر إلحاحا التي تواجهها الحكومة العراقية هي ارتفاع معدلات البطالة وعدم القدرة على إعطاء هؤلاء الشباب آفاق اقتصادية، فإنها تعاني أيضا من قضايا أخرى، مثل انعدام الأمن الغذائي ونقص البنية التحتية.
* اختتمت المسابقة الوطنية الـ13 لمهارات الإمارات يوم الخميس، بفريق من 60 شابا إماراتيا تم الإعلان عن فوزهم. تهدف هذه المسابقة إلى طرح المهارات التقنية والتكنولوجية للشباب وكذلك إلهامهم لاحتضان وظائف في مجال التكنولوجيا.
* يوم الخميس، وقعت وزارة الموارد البشرية والتنمية الاجتماعية السعودية مذكرة تفاهم مع سلسلة لولو هايبر ماركت. ومن خلال مذكرة التفاهم هذه، تلتزم السلسلة بتزويد العديد من السعوديين ذوي الدخل المنخفض بالدعم وبيئة عمل جيدة. وقد صرح رئيس إدارة الموارد البشرية والشؤون القانونية في لولو بأنهم "يعتقدون أن شباب المملكة العربية السعودية مجهز بشكل جيد بالطاقة والمقدرة اللازمة للنمو المستقبلي للمملكة".
* ذكرت صحيفة العرب عن القضية المحتملة التي قد تنشأ داخل الشباب التونسي: إدمان الإنترنت وبشكل أكثر تحديدا إدمان الألعاب الإلكترونية. ففي مقابلة مع العرب، صرح أستاذ علم الاجتماع زهير بن جانيت أن الشباب التونسي هم الأكثر احتمالا بين شباب العرب لاستخدام الإنترنت. وأوضح أن الكثير من الناس يجدون مساحة آمنة في الإنترنت، مع وجود مساحة افتراضية تقدم "عالما بديلا" لشاب يعيش في خضم ظروف صعبة جدا.

* On Sunday March 6, a young Palestinian man was shot by Israeli police in the Old City of Jerusalem after attacking and stabbing two soldiers.
* Dozens of young Palestinians participated in confrontations with Israeli forces in several cities, resulting in several injuries. It is reported that the forces used metal bullets and gas against the youth, who was protesting the illegal Israeli settlement in the West Bank.

* يوم الأحد 6 آذار / مارس، أطلقت الشرطة الإسرائيلية النار على شاب فلسطيني في البلدة القديمة في القدس بعد مهاجمة وطعن جنديين.
* شارك عشرات الشبان الفلسطينيين في مواجهات مع القوات الإسرائيلية في عدة مدن، مما أسفر عن وقوع عدة إصابات. وتفيد التقارير أن القوات استخدمت الرصاص المعدني والغاز ضد الشباب الذين كانوا يحتجون على الاستيطان الإسرائيلي غير القانوني في الضفة الغربية.

* In light of the conflict that has devastated Yemen since 2015, Dunja Ramadan chose to focus on the initiatives that many young people have taken to preserve their culture. In her article for Qantara, she discusses with Yousra Ishaq, a young Yemeni filmmaker attempts to catch glimpses of life in the country, aside from the horrors of war, as well as her efforts to help young filmmakers in the country through workshops. She discussed her latest project, which focuses on a small Yemeni family that produces Khawlani coffee, an important part of Yemeni culture.
* Baghdad, which was voted the capital of Arab youth hosted the street theater festival, from February 28th until March 6th, under the slogan "Our Youth Awareness and empowerment". Held under the patronage of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, this festival was meant to present the various artistic and cultural feats of youth across the Arab region. At the conclusion of the festival, the jury announced the awards of the festival in the various categories.
* The heads of 17 of the Arab Scout associations met at the headquarters in Cairo, where the leaders discussed how to develop a program in order to encourage more Arab youth to participate in the Scout movement, as a means to unite young Arabs.
* In Kuwait, the General Authority for youth has announced that until March 17th, young Kuwaitis can submit their work in order to be nominated for the Arab Youth Excellence Award in the field of youth للمساعدة.
* The Crown Prince Foundation in Jordan announced their programs for 2022 during a press conference on Tuesday . They stated that they had opened a new office in Ma'an, in order to have more presence and support for youth in the Southern parts of the country.
* From March 28th until March 30th, the Arab Youth center will be hosting the "Arab Youth Meeting for Young Leaders", under the auspices of Emirati Deputy Prime Minister, HRH Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. It is said that over 20 Arab ministers and 35 youth leaders in the region will be attending event. The main focus will be empowering the youth, discussing their ambitions, both domestically and internationally.

* في ضوء الصراع الذي دمر اليمن منذ عام 2015، اختارت دنجا رمضان التركيز على المبادرات التي اتخذها العديد من الشباب للحفاظ على ثقافتهم. في مقالها للقنطرة، تناقش مع يسرا إسحاق، وهي مخرجة يمنية شابة تحاول التقاط لمحات من الحياة في البلاد، بصرف النظر عن أهوال الحرب، وكذلك جهودها لمساعدة المخرجين الشباب في البلاد من خلال ورش العمل. وناقشت مشروعها الأخير، الذي يركز على عائلة يمنية صغيرة تنتج قهوة الخولاني، وهي جزء مهم من الثقافة اليمنية.
* استضافت بغداد، التي صوتت عاصمة للشباب العربي، مهرجان مسرح الشارع، من 28 شباط / فبراير حتى 6 آذار / مارس، تحت شعار "توعية شبابنا وتمكينهم". أقيم هذا المهرجان تحت رعاية وزارة الشباب والرياضة وبالتعاون مع وزارة الثقافة والسياحة، وكان الهدف منه تقديم مختلف الأعمال الفنية والثقافية للشباب في جميع أنحاء المنطقة العربية. وفي ختام المهرجان، أعلنت لجنة التحكيم عن جوائز المهرجان في مختلف الفئات.
* اجتمع رؤساء 17 من الجمعيات الكشفية العربية في المقر الرئيسي بالقاهرة، حيث ناقش القادة كيفية تطوير برنامج من أجل تشجيع المزيد من الشباب العربي على المشاركة في الحركة الكشفية، كوسيلة لتوحيد الشباب العربي.
* في الكويت، أعلنت الهيئة العامة للشباب أنه حتى 17 آذار / مارس، يمكن للشباب الكويتيين تقديم أعمالهم من أجل الترشيح لجائزة التميز العربي للشباب في مجال التطوع الشبابي.
* أعلنت مؤسسة ولي العهد في الأردن عن برامجها لعام 2022 خلال مؤتمر صحفي يوم الثلاثاء. وذكرت المؤسسة أنها فتحت مكتبا جديدا في محافظة معان، وذلك من أجل الحصول على مزيد من الحضور والدعم للشباب في الأجزاء الجنوبية من البلاد.
* من 28 حتى 30 آذار / مارس، يستضيف مركز الشباب العربي "لقاء الشباب العربي للقادة الشباب"، تحت رعاية صاحب السمو الشيخ منصور بن زايد آل نهيان نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء الإماراتي. يشار إلى أن أكثر من 20 وزيرا عربيا و35 من قادة الشباب في المنطقة الذين سيحضرون الحدث. وسيكون التركيز الرئيسي على تمكين الشباب، ومناقشة طموحاتهم، على الصعيدين المحلي والدولي.
التعليم
* Arab News reported the problems that Lebanese youth has had to deal with since the financial crisis has begun: it is reported that around 30% of people between the ages 15 and 24 in Lebanon had dropped out of school, according to research led by the UN. This report also states that many young people have been cutting back on healthcare as well. This however creates a vicious cycle: as many drop out of school to work, they don't acquire the skills necessary for reconstruction and relieve the effects of the crisis.
* The Arabic Language Center, in collaboration with the Emirati Ministry of Culture and Youth have led efforts to encourage the youth of the country to read more. After conducting a survey, it was announced that the initiative "Reading Month 2022" would be take place over the month of March. Set to be a yearly initiative, it has the aim of establishing reading as a habit for 50% of Emirati adults and 80% of school students by 2026.

* ذكرت عرب نيوز المشاكل التي كان على الشباب اللبناني التعامل معها منذ بدء الأزمة المالية: يقال أن حوالي 30٪ من الأشخاص الذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين 15 و 24 عاما في لبنان قد تسربوا من المدرسة، وفقا لبحث قادته الأمم المتحدة. يذكر هذا التقرير أيضا أن العديد من الشباب كانوا يقلصون الرعاية الصحية أيضا. ومع ذلك، فإن هذا يخلق حلقة مفرغة: حيث يتسرب الكثيرون من المدرسة للعمل، فهم لا يكتسبون المهارات اللازمة لإعادة الإعمار وتخفيف آثار الأزمة.

* On Sunday March 13th, the Arab Youth Council on Climate Change signed an MOU with HSBC to establish an initiative entitled "Sustainability Education", meant to sensitize university students to sustainability and to come up with solutions to deal with climate change.
