السياسة والاندماج السياسي
* The Tunisian General Student Union announced that it is keeping tracking of the case of Ali Saidi, who was arrested due to posts made on his Facebook account and awaiting trial on the 8th of December. The Union reiterated its support for government institutions and its total trust in the judicial institution as a guarantee of human rights and freedoms. The union denounced the arrest as a violation of human rights and individual and public freedom. The union again stated its support for all those suffering from persecution due to their practicing of freedom of expression, calling all its supporters to a protest on the 8th of December in support of Saidi in front of the preliminary court at the time of his trial.
* The Progressive Youth Organization held a march under the title "Your Duty to Gather" amid tight security arrangements. The protestors raised the Lebanese flag along with the flag of the Progressive Socialist Party and the Progressive Youth Organization. The secretary general of the organizations stated that on the 14th of October, the youth organization's march from Mouseitbeh to Martyr's Square launched people's demands. He added that the main reason for the march is to protest the continued governmental block and calling for the government to convene and play its part, in light of current circumstances.
* Over 90% of youth in Libya have gotten their voter registration cards as the Libyan elections loom closer. The number is the same in Ghat, where 4 of the 27 nominees are below the age of 40, with two of them being women.

* أعلن الاتحاد العام التونسي للطلبة، عن استمراره في متابعة قضية علي السعيدي، الذي اعتقل بسبب منشورات على حسابه على فيسبوك، وينتظر المحاكمة في 8 من كانون أول / ديسمبر. وجدد الاتحاد دعمه للمؤسسات الحكومية وثقته الكاملة في المؤسسة القضائية كضمان لحقوق الإنسان والحريات. وندد الاتحاد بالاعتقال ووصفه بانتهاك حقوق الانسان والحريات الفردية والعامة. وأبدى الاتحاد مجدداً دعمه لكل من يعانون من الاضطهاد بسبب ممارستهم لحرية التعبير، داعيا جميع أنصاره إلى وقفة احتجاجية في الثامن من كانون الأول / ديسمبر لدعم السعيدي أمام المحكمة الابتدائية خلال وقت محاكمته.
* نظمت منظمة الشباب التقدمية مسيرة تحت عنوان " واجبكم تجتمعوا" وسط ترتيبات أمنية مشددة. ورفع المتظاهرون العلم اللبناني وعلم الحزب التقدمي الاشتراكي ومنظمة الشباب التقدمي. وأوضح أمين عام المنظمات أن مسيرة التنظيم الشبابي من المصيطبة إلى ساحة الشهداء يوم 14 تشرين أول / أكتوبر أطلقت مطالب شعبية. وأضاف أن السبب الرئيسي للمسيرة هو الاحتجاج على استمرار التكتل الحكومي ودعوة الحكومة للانعقاد والقيام بدورها في ظل الظروف الحالية.
* حصل أكثر من 90٪ من الشباب في ليبيا على بطاقات تسجيل الناخبين مع اقتراب موعد الانتخابات الليبية. وهذا الرقم هو نفسه في غات، حيث تقل أعمار 4 من 27 مرشحًا عن 40 عاما، من بينهم امرأتان.
الاقتصاد وريادة الأعمال
* As part of Microsoft's initiative to help 25 million acquire digital skills needed, Microsoft and Injaz Al-Arab announced a partnership to empower 200,000 North Africans. The aim of the initiative is to teach youth the needed digital skills to raise their chances of employment. The project will target children as young as middle school and covering post-graduates and female-led start-ups, age range 12-24. The initiative will be applied in Egypt, Sudan, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Mauritania, and Libya.
* There are over 21,000 startups across the Middle East, employing thousands of people. Careem, a ride sharing app, has employed 3,500 people, has also employed over 850,000 drivers. Start-ups have allowed youth to experience hands-on employment as well as give some the ability to own their work. While over 60% of people in the region favor corporate and government work, start-ups are shaping to be the new future of employment in the Middle East.
* In partnership with the World bank, the Jordanian Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship held a webinar titled “Jordan’s Qualified IT Talents: Your Winning Card Against Your Competitors.” During the webinar, the Ministry launched Jordan Source Program to facilitate new investments into the country’s digital outsourcing economy. It is worth noting that 27% of MENA’s tech entrepreneurs are Jordanians.
* Hussein Sabri al-Bakbashi, Advisor to the Egyptian Minister of Manpower for Information and Digital Transformation, stated that an initiative with five international corporations is in the works to provide graduates with 100,000 job opportunities. Currently, there are interviews to pick out those who have completed the program to act as instructors for fresh graduates who will join this program. However, it has been pointed out that those who complete this program have a competitive advantage in the job market.
* The Minister of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs reiterated the commitment by the ministry and the Egyptian-German Center for Employment, Migration and Reintegration, to fight illegal immigration by providing youth employment opportunities abroad as well as locally, through legal methods, and assisting them in integrated in foreign environments and cultures. The center also helps returning immigrants reintegrate socially and economically in Egyptian society. Ambassador Nabila Makram stated that Egypt has been successfully dealing with the illegal immigration phenomenon that many countries are dealing with now-a-days.
* Dr. Mamdouh Ghrab, mayor of the Sharqiya governate, announced that the national project for social and human and local development labelled "Mashrou'ak" gave loans worth 2,704,747 Egyptian pounds to 17,038 projects to provide 51,254 direct and indirect job opportunities for the governate's youth. Ghrab also said that the Mashrou'ak project aids in ending the unemployment problem and provides youth with a decent life. He emphasized the governate’s assistance in creating easier loans for youth and attempting to remove obstacles or easing them and oiling the governate's wheel of development.
* The Tunisian minister of economy and planning, Samir Said, stated on Friday, December 3rd, that Tunisian youth should not focus on public jobs, but rather switch to private initiatives and creation of fortune, as that is the future of the youth. He stated that the government will support and guide youth towards success, and asked youth not to fear the challenge of start-ups and wealth creation, as they will be supported by the state.
* Zain Bahrain trained 95 Bahraini youth in different departments as part of the Zain Youth Empowerment (ZY) Program aimed at exposing Bahraini youth to employment and empower youth with skills needed for the competitive workforce.
* The closing ceremony of the first edition of the “Tech Expo Youth Technology and Innovation” project was organized by the Muharraq Youth Model Center in Bahrain. The “Tech Expo” program serves youth in the field of technology and innovation and looks to create a creative environment for them, as it supports them to promote their ideas and projects. As such, youth can exchange successful experiences among themselves and acquire more skills that help them develop their technological innovations.

* كجزء من مبادرة مايكروسوفت لمساعدة 25 مليون شخص على اكتساب المهارات الرقمية المطلوبة، أعلنت مايكروسوفت وإنجاز العرب عن شراكة لتمكين 200000 شمال أفريقي. الهدف من المبادرة هو تعليم الشباب المهارات الرقمية اللازمة لزيادة فرصهم في العمل. وسيستهدف المشروع الأطفال في سن صغيرة مثل المرحلة الإعدادية ويغطي الخريجين والشركات الناشئة التي تقودها النساء، من سن 12-24. وستطبق المبادرة في مصر، والسودان، والجزائر، وتونس، والمغرب، وموريتانيا، وليبيا.

* صرح حسين صبري البكباشي، مستشار وزير القوى العاملة المصري للمعلومات والتحول الرقمي، أنه يجري العمل على مبادرةمع خمس مؤسسات دولية لتوفير 100000 فرصة عمل للخريجين. وهناك حاليا مقابلات لاختيار مجموعة من الذين أكملوا البرنامج والذين سيعملون كمدربين للخريجين الجدد الذين ينضمون إلى هذا البرنامج. ومع ذلك، فقد تمت الإشارة إلى أن أولئك الذين يكملون هذا البرنامج لديهم ميزة تنافسية في سوق العمل.

* أعلن الدكتور ممدوح غراب رئيس بلدية محافظة الشرقية في مصر أن المشروع القومي للتنمية الاجتماعية والبشرية والمحلية المسمى "مشروعك" منح قروضاً بقيمة 2704747 جنيهاً مصرياً إلى 17،038 مشروعًا لتوفير 51254 فرصة عمل مباشرة وغير مباشرة لشباب المحافظة. وقال غراب أيضا إن "مشروعك" يساعد على إنهاء مشكلة البطالة ويوفر حياة كريمة للشباب. وأكد على مساعدة المحافظة في تسهيل القروض للشباب ومحاولة تذليل العقبات أو تخفيفها وتزييت عجلة التنمية في المحافظة.
* صرح وزير الاقتصاد والتخطيط التونسي، سمير سعيد، الجمعة 3 كانون أول / ديسمبر، بأنه لا يجب على الشباب التونسي التركيز على الوظائف العامة، بل التحول إلى المبادرات الخاصة وخلق الثروة، لأن هذا هو مستقبل الشباب. وذكر أن الحكومة ستدعم وتوجه الشباب نحو النجاح، وطالب الشباب بعدم الخوف من تحدي الشركات الناشئة وتكوين الثروات، حيث ستدعمهم الدولة.
* قامت زين البحرين بتدريب 95 شابًا بحرينيًا في إدارات مختلفة كجزء من برنامج زين لتمكين الشباب (ZY) الذي يهدف إلى تعريض الشباب البحريني للتوظيف وتمكين الشباب بالمهارات اللازمة للقوى العاملة التنافسية.
* نظم مركز المحرق للشباب النموذجي في البحرين الحفل الختامي للدورة الأولى لمشروع "تيك إكسبو الشبابي للتكنولوجيا والابتكار." ويخدم برنامج "تيك اكسبو" الشباب في مجال التكنولوجيا والابتكار ويتطلع إلى خلق بيئة إبداعية لهم، حيث يدعمهم في الترويج لأفكارهم ومشاريعهم. وعلى هذا النحو، يمكن البرنامج الشباب المشاركين من تبادل الخبرات الناجحة فيما بينهم واكتساب المزيد من المهارات التي تساعدهم على تطوير ابتكاراتهم التكنولوجية.
النزاعات
* The Palestinian presidency said that the execution by the Israeli occupation of the young Palestinian man, Muhammad Salima (25 years), in occupied Jerusalem, comes in the context of the ongoing Israeli escalationagainst Palestine, and that the continuation of the daily series of killings that cannot be tolerated. The Palestinian presidency added - in a statement - that the killing of the wounded young man, Salima, is a documented war crime, calling on the international community to act immediately to stop the crimes of the occupation, provide protection for the Palestinian people, end the occupation, and establish an independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
* Israeli occupation forces launched a campaign of raids and searches in various areas of the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, arresting many Palestinians and confiscating agricultural equipment, near the Jordan Valley. The Prisoner's Club reported the arrest of 8 young men during raids in different areas of the West Bank. The report by Arab 48 adds that the occupation forces stormed Khirbet al-Ras al-Ahmar in the northern Jordan Valley and seized vehicles and agricultural equipment. The official in charge of the Jordan Valley file in Tubas governorate said that the occupation forces seized a number of vehicles, agricultural tractors, and water tanks. He added that the occupation soldiers stormed the houses of the citizens, searched them, and tampered with their belongings.
* One killed and one injured Palestinian youth by Israeli police in the city of Um Fahm, located in the occupied '48 territory. Israeli police aimed and shot at the vehicle with the two men inside accusing them of running over two police officers, leading to their injury, and the subsequent death of one.
* The frequency of kidnappings by the Transitional Council militias in Aden increased during last November, with several cases of illegal detention, torture and enforced disappearance. The council has been linked to these cases after many young people and children were found in prisons run by council members. President of the Human Rights Monitor stated the illegal arrests, torture and intimidation tactics used against youth and children increase with the lack of proper authority and judiciary.
* The Intelligence Division of the Rapid Support Forces in North Darfur, Sudan managed to arrest individuals using the name of a fictitious company and receiving large sums of money from citizens allegedly sending them to Saudi Arabia to work as cooks and administrators with the Arab Coalition Forces. The head of the Division said that about 100 young men fell victim to this organized criminal operation, as these young people paid large sums of money and sent passports and other official documents under the pretext of completing their procedures to be sent abroad for work.
* The Istanbul Public Prosecutor filed an indictment against 16 young suspects of belonging to a Mossad spy network in Turkey, as per a report by Arab 48 website. The report added that 15 of the suspects are Palestinians who were arrested over the past few months, while the last has not be arrested yet.
* VDL News published a report highlighting that drug addiction in Lebanon among youth is on the rise. The report states that the number of drug users in Lebanon increases year after year, and with it the numbers of promoters and dealers rose. There are no clear statistics about the number of drug users, but the Lebanese authorities publish almost daily news of arresting people who either trade and promote drugs or use them in various Lebanese regions.
* Middle East Eye published a report on December 4 illustrating the frustration of young Iranians over the nuclear talks and never-ending sanctions. Iranian youth interviewed, as part of the report, highlighted that their “entire life is about uranium, centrifuges, and nuclear plants” as Iranian youth saw their young years wasted on a never-ending issue. The report indicates that widespread support of Iran’s nuclear program is depleting among youth who are fed with living under sanctions.
* Child marriage on the rise in Iran as over 9,000 girls aged 10-14 were married last spring, and over 45,000 aged 15-19 were married around the same time. Iranian law allows for marriage of girls below the age of 13 with paternal and court consent, something which critics have stated has not been being applied by authorities.

* قالت الرئاسة الفلسطينية إن إعدام الاحتلال الإسرائيلي للشاب الفلسطيني محمد سليمة (25 عاما) في القدس المحتلة يأتي في سياق التصعيد الإسرائيلي المستمر ضد فلسطين، وأن استمرار مسلسل القتل اليومي لا يمكن التسامح معه. وأضافت الرئاسة الفلسطينية - في بيان لها - أن مقتل الشاب الجريح محمد سليمة هي جريمة حرب موثقة، داعية المجتمع الدولي للتحرك الفوري لوقف جرائم الاحتلال، وتوفير الحماية للشعب الفلسطيني، ووضع حد للاحتلال، الاحتلال وإقامة دولة مستقلة عاصمتها القدس الشرقية.
* شنت قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، حملة دهم وتفتيش في مناطق متفرقة من الضفة الغربية والقدس المحتلة، واعتقلت العديد من الفلسطينيين، وصادرت معدات زراعية قرب منطقة الأغوار. وأفاد نادي الأسير عن اعتقال 8 شبان خلال مداهمات في مناطق متفرقة بالضفة الغربية. ويضيف تقرير عرب 48 أن قوات الاحتلال اقتحمت خربة الرأس الأحمر في شمال الأغوار وصادرت آليات ومعدات زراعية. وقال المسؤول عن ملف الأغوار في محافظة طوباس، إن قوات الاحتلال استولت على عدد من الآليات والجرارات الزراعية وخزانات المياه. وأضاف المسؤول أن جنود الاحتلال اقتحموا منازل المواطنين وفتشوها وعبثوا بممتلكاتهم.
* قتيل وجرح شابين فلسطينيين على يد شرطة الاحتلال في مدينة أم فهم الواقعة في أراضي 48 المحتلة. واستهدفت الشرطة الإسرائيلية السيارة وأطلقت النار عليها وكان الرجلان بداخلها متهمة السائق بدهس ضابطي شرطة، مما أدى إلى إصابتهما ومقتل أحدهما لاحقًا.
* ازدادت وتيرة عمليات الخطف على يد مليشيات المجلس الانتقالي في عدن في اليمن خلال شهر تشرين ثاني / نوفمبر الماضي، حيث برز عددا من حالات الاعتقال غير القانوني والتعذيب والاختفاء القسري. وقد تم ربط المجلس بهذه الحالات بعد العثور على العديد من الشباب والأطفال في سجون يديرها أعضاء المجلس. وأوضح رئيس مرصد حقوق الإنسان، أن الاعتقالات والتعذيب وأساليب الترهيب غير القانونية المستخدمة بحق الشباب والأطفال تزداد مع غياب السلطة والقضاء المناسبين.
* تمكنت شعبة المخابرات بقوات الدعم السريع بشمال دارفور بالسودان من القبض على أفراد يستخدمون اسم شركة وهمية وتتلقى مبالغ مالية كبيرة من مواطنين ظنا منهم أن الشركة سترسلهم إلى السعودية للعمل كطهاة وإداريين مع قوات التحالف العربي. وقال رئيس الشعبة إن نحو 100 شاب وقعوا ضحية هذه العملية الإجرامية المنظمة، حيث دفع هؤلاء الشباب مبالغ كبيرة وأرسلوا جوازات سفر ووثائق رسمية أخرى بحجة استكمال إجراءاتهم لإرسالهم إلى الخارج للعمل.
* قدم المدعي العام في اسطنبول لائحة اتهام ضد 16 شابًا يشتبه في انتمائهم لشبكة تجسس للموساد في تركيا، وفقًا لتقرير موقع عرب 48. وأضاف التقرير أن 15 من المشتبه بهم فلسطينيون اعتقلوا خلال الأشهر الماضية فيما لم يتم اعتقال الأخير حتى الآن.
* نشر موقع صوت لبنان تقريراً يسلط الضوء على أن إدمان المخدرات في لبنان بين الشباب آخذ في الازدياد. ويشير التقرير إلى أن عدد متعاطي المخدرات في لبنان يزداد عاما بعد عام ومعه ارتفع عدد المروجين والتجار. ولا توجد إحصائيات واضحة حول عدد متعاطي المخدرات، لكن السلطات اللبنانية تنشر بشكل شبه يومي أنباء عن توقيف أشخاص يتاجرون بالمخدرات ويروجون لها أو يتعاطونها في مختلف المناطق اللبنانية.
* نشر موقع "ميدل ايست آي" تقريراً في 4 كانون الأول / ديسمبر يوضح إحباط الشباب الإيراني بشأن المحادثات النووية والعقوبات التي لا تنتهي. وتحدث الشباب الإيراني الذين تمت مقابلتهم، كجزء من التقرير، أن "حياتهم بأكملها تدور حول اليورانيوم وأجهزة الطرد المركزي والمحطات النووية" حيث رأى الشباب الإيراني سنوات شبابهم ضائعة في قضية لا تنتهي أبدًا. ويشير التقرير إلى انخفاض الدعم الواسع لبرنامج إيران النووي بين الشباب الذين ملوا من العيش تحت وطأة العقوبات.
* يتزايد زواج الأطفال في إيران حيث تزوجت أكثر من 9000 فتاة تتراوح أعمارهن بين 10 و14 عامًا في الربيع الماضي، وأكثر من 45000 فتاة تتراوح أعمارهن بين 15 و 19 عامًا تزوجن في نفس الوقت تقريبًا. يسمح القانون الإيراني بزواج الفتيات دون سن 13 عامًا بموافقة الأب أو المحكمة، وهو أمر ذكر منتقدون أنه لم يتم تطبيقه من قبل السلطات.
التنمية
* Dr. Ahmad Kamali, the deputy minister of planning and economic development, announced the initiative "Kun Safiran (Be an Ambassador)" to promote social awareness of sustainable development. This came during the first session under the title "Initiatives by the Ministry of Planning towards sustainability". This initiative targets journalists. Egypt has released 27 reports on the localization of the SDGs on the municipal level, becoming the only country in the region to release such a report. Kamali also stated that in the next few months, Egypt will release the first ever financing report for sustainability, the first of its kind globally to be published for a state, where previous ones were published on the global level.
* The branch of the National Council for Women in Beni Suef organized a 4-day initiative on sexism, misogyny, gender discrimination, and violence against women for youth of the male gender only. The initiative will be held in multiple locations, hosting 50 people each, in the presence of human development specialists and priests and sheikhs to promote the message of the event.
* The Aden Foundation for Arts and Sciences, in partnership with the Youth Government, held a training course titled “the Role of Youth in Peace and Social Security” in Yemen. The course, in which 20 trainees will participate, aims to establish a definition of the concepts of peace and societal security in its various forms and types and to involve young people in building peace along with preparing them for decision-making.

* أعلن الدكتور أحمد كمالي نائب وزير التخطيط والتنمية الاقتصادية عن مبادرة "كون سفيرا" لتعزيز الوعي الاجتماعي بالتنمية المستدامة. وجاء ذلك خلال الجلسة الأولى تحت عنوان "مبادرات وزارة التخطيط نحو الاستدامة"، حيث تستهدف هذه المبادرة الصحفيين. وأصدرت مصر 27 تقريرًا حول توطين أهداف التنمية المستدامة على مستوى البلديات، لتصبح الدولة الوحيدة في المنطقة التي تصدر مثل هذا التقرير. وذكر الكمالي أيضًا أنه في الأشهر القليلة المقبلة، ستصدر مصر أول تقرير تمويل من أجل الاستدامة، وهو الأول من نوعه عالميًا يتم نشره لدولة ما، حيث تم نشر التقارير السابقة على المستوى العالمي.
* نظم فرع المجلس القومي للمرأة ببني سويف مبادرة لمدة 4 أيام حول التحيز الجنسي وكراهية النساء والتمييز بين الجنسين والعنف ضد المرأة للشباب من الذكور فقط. وستقام المبادرة في مواقع متعددة، يستضيف كل منها 50 شخصًا، بحضور متخصصين في التنمية البشرية وقادة دينيين ومشايخ للترويج لرسالة الحدث.
* أقامت مؤسسة عدن للفنون والعلوم بالشراكة مع حكومة الشباب دورة تدريبية بعنوان "دور الشباب في السلام والضمان الاجتماعي" في اليمن. وتهدف الدورة التي يشارك فيها 20 متدربًا إلى وضع تعريف لمفاهيم السلام والأمن المجتمعي بمختلف أشكاله وأنواعه وإشراك الشباب في بناء السلام وإعدادهم لاتخاذ القرار.
التعليم
* The representatives of Aden Youth Consultations in Yemen met with the representative of the governor of Hadermout to discuss the necessary steps and inquire about funding for the establishment of the educational support fund. This is only one of a series of meetings the representatives of the Aden Youth Consultations have held to establish an educational support fund to help promote better education in Aden, as they deem education as a pillar in creating an industrial uprising in the city.

* التقى ممثلو استشارات شباب عدن في اليمن مع ممثل محافظ حضرموت لمناقشة الخطوات اللازمة والاستعلام عن تمويل إنشاء صندوق دعم التعليم. ويعد هذا الاجتماع واحدا من سلسلة اجتماعات استشارية عقدها ممثلو استشارات الشباب في عدن لإنشاء صندوق دعم تعليمي للمساعدة في تعزيز تعليم أفضل في عدن، حيث يعتبرون التعليم ركيزة في إحداث انتفاضة صناعية في المدينة.

* Mohamed Kaoud, board member of the Egyptian Youth Business Association, emphasized the importance of climate action after COP26 and reiterated the importance of abiding by the Paris Convention of 2016 to help limit climate change, citing it as law for climate action. He also stated that according to the UN Environment Programme, real estate is responsible for 38% of all CO2 emissions while consuming around 40% of global energy and pushed law makers in Egypt to force change for more sustainable housing and buildings for the current and future generation. Kaoud also stated that 63% of office employees stated that they would not like to work in a non-sustainable office. According to him, it would take 8 trillion USD to transform all current living spaces, buildings, and houses, to sustainable energy, and urged law makers to begin taking the necessary decisions to achieve that goal.
* Young Egyptian Engineer, Ahmed Diab who nominated for the Stephen Hawking International Prize in Science, said that he is working on developing thermal energy cells as an alternative to solar energy. He added that he searched inside plants for the substance responsible for absorbing light energy and extracted it to conduct experiments on it to produce energy such as solar energy.
* The Libyan Minister of Youth launched the implementation of the National Youth Voluntary Plan for Afforestation. Many young Libyan men and women are expected to participate to plant 10,000 trees.
* The "Zira'a" initiative, organized by the youth board of Ha'el in Saudi, was launched with cooperation from multiple governmental help. The secretary general of the board announced that the initiative aimed at planting over 3000 trees by its second year, to increase flora coverage, and halt deforestation and desertification. He stated that planting of trees had already begun and encouraged volunteering to the program.

* أكد محمد قاعود، عضو مجلس إدارة الجمعية المصرية لشباب الأعمال، على أهمية العمل المناخي بعد مؤتمر الشركاء 26 وأكد على أهمية الالتزام باتفاقية باريس لعام 2016 للمساعدة في الحد من تغير المناخ، مشيرًا إليها كقانون للعمل المناخي. وذكر أيضًا أنه وفقًا لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة، فإن العقارات مسؤولة عن 38 ٪ من جميع انبعاثات ثاني أكسيد الكربون بينما تستهلك حوالي 40٪ من الطاقة العالمية، ودفع صانعي القرار في مصر لفرض التغيير من أجل إسكان ومباني أكثر استدامة في الوقت الحالي وجيل المستقبل. كما ذكر قاعود أن 63٪ من موظفي المكاتب صرحوا بأنهم لا يرغبون في العمل في مكتب غير مستدام. ووفقًا له، فإن الأمر سيستغرق 8 تريليون دولار أمريكي لتحويل جميع أماكن المعيشة والمباني والمنازل الحالية إلى تلك التي تستخدم الطاقة المستدامة، وحث المشرعين على البدء في اتخاذ القرارات اللازمة لتحقيق هذا الهدف.
* قال المهندس المصري الشاب أحمد دياب الذي رشح لجائزة ستيفن هوكينج الدولية في العلوم، إنه يعمل على تطوير خلايا الطاقة الحرارية كبديل للطاقة الشمسية. وأضاف أنه بحث داخل النبات عن المادة المسؤولة عن امتصاص الطاقة الضوئية واستخراجها لإجراء تجارب عليها لإنتاج طاقة مثل الطاقة الشمسية.
* أطلق وزير الشباب الليبي تنفيذ الخطة الوطنية التطوعية للشباب للتشجير. من المتوقع أن يشارك العديد من الشباب الليبيين والشابات في غرس 10000 شجرة.
* انطلقت مبادرة "زراعة"، والتي نظمها مجلس الشباب في حائل في السعودية، بالتعاون مع جهات حكومية متعددة. وأعلن الأمين العام للمجلس أن المبادرة تستهدف زراعة أكثر من 3000 شجرة بحلول عامها الثاني، وذلك بهدف زيادة التغطية النباتية في المنطقة، ووقف إزالة الغابات والتصحر. وذكر أن غرس الأشجار قد بدأ بالفعل وشجع على التطوع للبرنامج.
جائحة فايروس كورونا
* Maha Talaat, Regional Adviser to the World Health Organization, stated that thus far, and despite not enough knowledge on it, the omicron variant, which first appeared in South Africa on November 11, seems to be infecting youth disproportionately. This said, the effects have been similar to the original covid-19 symptoms, and that previously infected individuals were still capable of catching it. She recommended abiding by safety regulations to avoid it, as the number of people being hospitalized increased after the variant appeared.
