* The Executive Office of the European Palestinian Youth Federation “Shabab” held its periodic meeting via the “Zoom”, during which it discussed the recent developments in Palestine, especially in terms of the escalation of the fierce attacks launched by the Israeli occupation forces and settlers against Palestinians. In the West Bank and inside the occupied city of Jerusalem and its neighborhoods, the attacks affect Palestinian prisoners in the prisons of the Israeli occupation, and the continued imposition of an unjust siege on Palestinians in Gaza along with the difficult economic conditions that refugee families face in refugee camps.
* Saray FM is an Arab radio based in Turkey, whose objective is to highlight the presence of the Arab community in the country and be a source of hope and comfort for those of them who have had to leave their home countries for various reasons. Modhesh Ben Hariz, the director general of the radio, stated that the radio is meant to be "an outlet for Arab youth by raising issues and providing solutions to problems through outstanding radio programs".
* The presidential office of the Arab Youth Union held its first meetings in Cairo with the leaders of the presidential office of Egypt, in the context of the upcoming World Youth Forum in 2022.

* عقد المكتب التنفيذي لاتحاد الشباب الأوروبي الفلسطيني “شباب” اجتماعه الدوري عبر منصة “زووم”، ناقش خلاله التطورات الأخيرة في فلسطين، لا سيما فيما يتعلق بتصعيد الاعتداءات الشرسة التي تشنها قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي والمستوطنين ضد الفلسطينيين في الضفة الغربية. وتطال الاعتداءات على الأسرى الفلسطينيين في سجون الاحتلال الإسرائيلي داخل مدينة القدس المحتلة وأحيائها. كما يستمر فرض الحصار الجائر على الفلسطينيين في غزة إلى جانب الظروف الاقتصادية الصعبة التي تواجه عائلات اللاجئين في مخيمات اللاجئين.
* سراي اف ام هي إذاعة عربية مقرها تركيا، تهدف إلى إبراز وجود الجالية العربية في البلاد وتكون مصدر أمل وراحة لمن اضطروا إلى مغادرة بلدانهم الأصلية لأسباب مختلفة. وأشار مدهش بن حريز، مدير عام الإذاعة، إلى أن الهدف من هذه الإذاعة هو أن تكون "منفذًا للشباب العربي من خلال طرح القضايا وتقديم الحلول للمشكلات من خلال البرامج الإذاعية المتميزة".
* عقد المكتب الرئاسي لاتحاد الشباب العربي اجتماعاته الأولى بالقاهرة مع قيادات المكتب الرئاسي في مصر، في سياق منتدى الشباب العالمي القادم في عام 2022.
الاقتصاد وريادة الأعمال
* The Jordanian Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmad Hanandeh stressed the importance and role of Jordanian youth in achieving the greatest achievements in various fields and sectors, during his meeting with Minister of Youth Muhammad al-Nabulsi with members of the communications and information technology sector in the training youth government, one of the programs of the Political Institute in the Ministry of Youth. During the meeting, Hanandeh referred to the role of Jordanian youth in the field of communications, information technology and entrepreneurship locally, regionally, and globally, stressing the government's keenness to develop digital skills among Jordanian youth that are compatible with the requirements of the future labor market through a number of programs and projects supervised by the Ministry by empowering them intellectually and training them on global practices in the field of information and communication technology. Minister of Youth said that the Political Institute program is one of the main programs implemented by the Ministry of Youth in the context of political empowerment of youth. He added that the Political Institute, with its programs "Youth Parliament and Youth Government", represents a national youth umbrella that translates the ideas and proposals of young people in public affairs.
* In Egypt, Abdel Wakeel Ali has launched the "zero initiative", which looks to completely eradicate unemployment among the Egyptian youth. Ali stated that many free courses will be available to young people across the country, to qualify them in "freelance" jobs specifically, allowing them to work from home in fields such as graphic design.
* The Arab African International Bank signed a protocol with the Information Technology Institute of Egypt. This protocol is meant to provide specialized trainings for young people, to give them the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the qualifications of the markets of information and communications technology.
* Uplive, a live video social entertainment platform, has launched a television commercial advertising its newest initiative, meant to promote the work of creators based in the MENA region. Andy Tan, the CEO and Co-founder of Asia Innovations Group, which owns Uplive has said: “The gig economy is an important resource that needs to be supported through innovation. As the youth population continues to grow and the scarcity of jobs also continues to rise, we need to encourage the local youth to tap into their talents and use Uplive to market themselves to a global audience and in the process make a decent living out of it." meaning that social media apps such as Uplive could represent a new market of employment for the youth of the region.
* The World Youth Forum invited its followers to join the discussions on women's empowerment and share their opinions through a message published on its official Facebook page, which said: “It has become clear that women are strong engines and rising economic stars in developing countries with their wonderful initiatives and projects.” The Forum noted that there is also a growing recognition that women entrepreneurs are the new engines of sustainable economic growth.

* أكد وزير الاقتصاد الرقمي وريادة الأعمال الأردني، أحمد هناندة، على أهمية ودور الشباب الأردني في تحقيق أعظم الإنجازات في مختلف المجالات والقطاعات، وذلك خلال لقائه ووزير الشباب محمد النابلسي بأعضاء قطاع الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات في حكومة تدريب الشباب، وهو أحد برامج المعهد السياسي في وزارة الشباب. وأشار هناندة خلال الاجتماع إلى دور الشباب الأردني في مجال الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات وريادة الأعمال محلياً وإقليمياً وعالمياً، مؤكداً حرص الحكومة على تطوير المهارات الرقمية لدى الشباب الأردني بما يتناسب مع متطلبات سوق عمل المستقبل، وذلك من خلال عدد من البرامج والمشاريع التي تشرف عليها الوزارة من خلال تمكينهم فكريا وتدريبهم على الممارسات العالمية في مجال تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات. وقال وزير الشباب إن برنامج المعهد السياسي هو أحد البرامج الرئيسية التي تنفذها وزارة الشباب في إطار التمكين السياسي للشباب. وأضاف أن المعهد السياسي ببرامجه "برلمان الشباب وحكومة الشباب" يمثل مظلة وطنية للشباب تترجم أفكار ومقترحات الشباب في الشأن العام.
* في مصر، أطلق عبد الوكيل علي "مبادرة الصفر"، التي تهدف إلى القضاء التام على البطالة بين الشباب المصري. وذكر علي أن العديد من الدورات المجانية ستكون متاحة للشباب في جميع أنحاء البلاد، لتأهيلهم في وظائف "مستقلة" على وجه التحديد، مما يسمح لهم بالعمل من المنزل في مجالات مثل التصميم الجرافيكي.
* وقع البنك العربي الأفريقي الدولي بروتوكول مع معهد تكنولوجيا المعلومات المصري. ويهدف هذا البروتوكول إلى توفير دورات تدريبية متخصصة للشباب، لإكسابهم المهارات والمعرفة اللازمة لتلبية مؤهلات أسواق تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات.

* دعا منتدى شباب العالم متابعيه للانضمام إلى النقاشات الخاصة بتمكين المرأة ومشاركة آرائهم من خلال رسالة نشرت على صفحته الرسمية على فيسبوك جاء فيها: "لقد اتضح أن المرأة هي محرك قوي ونجم اقتصادي صاعد في الدول النامية من خلال مبادراتهم ومشاريعهم الرائعة ". وأشار المنتدى إلى أن هناك أيضًا إدراكًا متزايدًا بأن رائدات الأعمال هن المحركات الجديدة للنمو الاقتصادي المستدام.
النزاعات
* Alhurra published a report on December 31, 2021 highlighting that a trend that many Lebanese youth are leaving their homes and joining Daesh in Iraq. “Mom, I am in Iraq” were the words of a young Lebanese to his mother over the phone, one month after he went missing in Tripoli. The report adds that youth, most of whom are below the age of 20, are increasingly disappearing from Tripoli, only to be found weeks later, as part of the terrorist group in Iraq. * The Middle East Monitor reported on December 31 that the Israeli army killed a Palestinian youth in the north of the West Bank. The report highlights that the Israeli army has killed 324 Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza between January 1 – December 20 of 2021, according to data from the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
* The Spanish newspaper "Larazon" said that dozens of young Moroccans tried to illegally seek refuge in the Spanish city of Melilla to avoid military service in Morocco. The newspaper pointed out that security forces in Melilla faced a large influx of migrants last Wednesday, stressing that 80 young Moroccans, "between 17 and 20 years old", tried to climb the wall separating the city and Morocco, as 20 of them succeeded in entering the city. The newspaper pointed out that illegal entry processes are usually carried out by migrants from sub-Saharan countries, but this time it was revealed that there are many young Moroccans trying to go to Spain to seek asylum. * The Lebanese authorities intercepted and confiscated nine million pills of the fenethylline drug Captagon inside a shipment of fruit, expected to be delivered to the Gulf region. * The Al Bayan Youth Council was launched last Monday and is the first youth council of a media institution at the state level in the UAE. Muna Busmara, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper, stated that the council will play an important role in development, innovation, and entrepreneurship. She added that the council will qualify youth to take leading roles in the press in the future.
* Dr. Jalal Zanti won the first prize of the Arab Youth Award, for a study he conducted on "communication without communication", which focused on the effect social media has on the youth, as its use has increased over the past years in Egypt.
* Around half a million of participants from 196 countries across the world have registered for the fourth edition of the World Youth Forum, set to take place in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt in January 2022. The management team of the Forum announced that there would be a model simulation of the international human rights council of the United Nations (MUN) taking place during the Forum.
* The World Youth Forum announced a public invitation on its Facebook page to attend the fourth edition of the Forum, which is scheduled to be held in Sharm Al-Sheikh, Egypt between January 10-13 under the patronage of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi. The Forum aims to gather youth from around the world to enhance dialogue and discuss development challenges.
* On Saturday, the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports reopened a building in Ramadi that was used as a prison when the Islamic State had seized the city in 2014. This building will now be used as a recreational center for young girls and boys in the city. Youth volunteers helped rehabilitate the building over the past 3 years.

* انطلق مجلس شباب البيان يوم الاثنين الماضي، وهو أول مجلس شبابي لمؤسسة إعلامية على مستوى الدولة في الامارات. وقالت منى بوسمرة، رئيسة تحرير الصحيفة، إن المجلس سيلعب دورًا مهمًا في التنمية والابتكار وريادة الأعمال. وأضافت أن المجلس سيؤهل الشباب لتولي أدوار رائدة في الصحافة في المستقبل.
* حصل الدكتور جلال زانتي، على الجائزة الأولى لجائزة الشباب العربي، عن الدراسة التي أجراها حول "التواصل بدون تواصل"، والتي ركزت على تأثير وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي على الشباب، حيث زاد استخدامها خلال السنوات الماضية في مصر.
* سجل حوالي نصف مليون مشارك من 196 دولة في جميع أنحاء العالم للمشاركة في الدورة الرابعة لمنتدى الشباب العالمي، المقرر عقده في شرم الشيخ، مصر في كانون الثاني / يناير 2022. وأعلن فريق إدارة المنتدى أنه سيجري خلال المنتدى محاكاة نموذجية للمجلس الدولي لحقوق الإنسان التابع للأمم المتحدة.
* أعلن منتدى شباب العالم على صفحته على فيسبوك دعوة عامة لحضور النسخة الرابعة من المنتدى، والمقرر عقدها في شرم الشيخ، مصر في الفترة من 10 إلى 13 كانون الثاني / يناير الجاري، تحت رعاية الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي. ويهدف المنتدى إلى جمع الشباب من جميع أنحاء العالم لتعزيز الحوار ومناقشة تحديات التنمية.
* أعادت وزارة الشباب والرياضة العراقية يوم السبت فتح مبنى في الرمادي كان يستخدم كسجن عندما استولى تنظيم الدولة الإسلامية على المدينة في 2014. سيتم الآن استخدام هذا المبنى كمركز ترفيهي للفتيات والفتيان الصغار في المدينة. ساعد المتطوعون الشباب في إعادة تأهيل المبنى على مدى السنوات الثلاث الماضية.
التعليم
* The one-day conference “Youth, Hopes and Aspirations” launched its activities in Luxor, Egypt. The conference will include two dialogue sessions, the first entitled “Extremism and Rejection of Violence”, and the session will be moderated by Mohamed Imam, the media official in the Luxor Culture Branch. It will also feature lectures by Mahmoud El-Noubi, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, among others. The second session is entitled “Vacuity and Lack of Purpose” and will be lectured by Ahmed Mohie Hamza, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Luxor. On the sidelines of the conference, a workshop will be held for young people, providing academic and professional training to keep pace with the challenges of the labor market inside and outside Egypt. Then the conference ends with recommendations, a closing ceremony and honoring the participants.
* Egyptian Representative Martha Mahrous, a member of the Coordination’s Committee of Party’s Youth Leaders and Politicians (CPYP) said, “the education minister has a plan to develop education, but we are facing two dynamics, the first is the strategy and the second is the reality, and the strategy must match through the infrastructure and the number of teachers in order for it to succeed”.

* انطلق مؤتمر "شباب وأمل وتطلعات" الذي استمر ليوم واحد في مدينة الأقصر بمصر. وسيشمل المؤتمر جلستين حوار الأولى بعنوان "التطرف ونبذ العنف" ويدير الجلسة محمد إمام المسؤول الإعلامي بفرع ثقافة الأقصر. كما ستشمل محاضرات لمحمود النوبي، نائب عميد كلية الألسن، من بين آخرين. أما الجلسة الثانية فهي بعنوان "فراغ وانعدام الهدف" ويحاضر فيها أحمد محيي حمزة عميد كلية الفنون الجميلة بالأقصر. وستقام على هامش المؤتمر ورشة عمل للشباب تقدم تدريباً أكاديمياً ومهنياً لمواكبة تحديات سوق العمل داخل مصر وخارجها. ثم يختتم المؤتمر بالتوصيات وحفل ختامي وتكريم المشاركين.
* قالت النائبة المصرية مارثا محروس، عضو تنسيقية شباب الأحزاب والسياسيين: "لدى وزير التعليم خطة لتطوير التعليم، لكننا نواجه موقفين مختلفين، الأول هو الاستراتيجية والثاني هو الواقع، والاستراتيجية يجب أن تتطابق من خلال البنية التحتية وعدد المعلمين حتى تنجح ".

* Youth of the Million Youth Volunteer Initiative for Climate Adaptation launched the “Youth for Climate” movement and the “Women for Climate” movement to urge society toward climate adaptation. The Greater Cairo Library in Zamalek is organizing the first climate workshop in cooperation with the Volunteer Team Foundation for Humanitarian Action, as part of the activities of the initiative. The founder of the initiative stated that “Young stakeholders are the most vulnerable stakeholders to the impacts of climate change, and they have gone beyond awareness and are globally taking an active role in addressing one of the greatest challenges of our time.

* أطلقت مبادرة شباب المليون متطوع شاب للتكيف مع المناخ حركة "الشباب من أجل المناخ" وحركة "النساء من أجل المناخ" لحث المجتمع على التكيف مع المناخ. وتنظم مكتبة القاهرة الكبرى بالزمالك ورشة العمل المناخية الأولى بالتعاون مع مؤسسة الفريق التطوعي للعمل الإنساني ضمن فعاليات المبادرة. وصرح مؤسس المبادرة أن "أصحاب المصلحة الشباب هم أصحاب المصلحة الأكثر تعرضًا لتأثيرات تغير المناخ، وقد تجاوزوا مستوى الوعي ويقومون عالميًا بدور نشط في مواجهة أحد أكبر التحديات في عصرنا.
جائحة فايروس كورونا
* The World Youth Forum announced that it will hold a simulated session of the United Nations’ international human rights council, as part of its fourth edition. Over 5,000 young men and women delivered their applications to take part in the simulation, which is expected to discuss the implications of COVID-19 on human rights, among other aspects.

* أعلن منتدى شباب العالم أنه سيعقد جلسة محاكاة لمجلس حقوق الإنسان الدولي التابع للأمم المتحدة، كجزء من نسخته الرابعة. وقدم أكثر من 5000 شاب وشابة طلباتهم للمشاركة في المحاكاة، والتي من المتوقع أن تناقش آثار جائحة فايروس كورونا على حقوق الإنسان، من بين جوانب أخرى.
