Politics and Political Engagement
* Mauritanian President creates new government, the third since his presidency over two and a half years ago, that has been labelled as a youth's government, with distinct portion of ministers being youth.
* Female football fans in Iran were pepper sprayed as they attempted to attend the final qualifier match for the 2022 World Cup in Imam Reza stadium in the holy city of Mashhad. Heavy criticism followed on Farsi outlets and social media. Around 2,000 women had bought tickets to attend the match, which brought about criticism. Abbas Abdi, a former political prisoner and prominent social analyst, condemned the attach and duplicity of the authorities for selling tickets to women then refusing to allow them into the stadium.

* يشكل الرئيس الموريتاني حكومة جديدة، وهي الثالثة منذ رئاسته قبل أكثر من عامين ونصف، والتي وُصفت بأنها حكومة الشباب، حيث أن جزء كبير من الوزراء هم من الشباب.
* تم رش مشجعات كرة القدم في إيران بالفلفل أثناء محاولتهن حضور المباراة التأهيلية النهائية لكأس العالم 2022 في ملعب الإمام الرضا بمدينة مشهد المقدسة. تلا ذلك انتقادات شديدة على المنافذ الفارسية ووسائل التواصل الاجتماعي. اشترت حوالي 2000 امرأة تذاكر لحضور المباراة، مما أثار انتقادات. وأدان عباس عبدي، السجين السياسي السابق والمحلل الاجتماعي البارز، التعلق وازدواجية السلطات لبيعها تذاكر للنساء ثم رفض السماح لهن بدخول الملعب.
Economics and Entrepreneurship
* A unique partnership between Adam Bradford Agency, Dan Bolton Creative Management Agency, and the British Business Group Dubai invites all young innovators under the age of 35 to present their business ideas and participate in Inspiring Futures, 2022 Edition. Inspiring Futures is a platform for emerging ideas which tackle societal issues and make the world a better place. It gives aspiring entrepreneurs an opportunity to launch their ideas.
* The Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming, and Drones (SAFCSP), a national institute aimed at empowering the local workforce and enhancing their capabilities in the fields of cybersecurity, software development, drones, and advanced technologies, has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Spire Solutions. The aim of the strategic partnership is to support and nurture Saudi youth. The program will provide a series of short courses on some of the latest cybersecurity technologies.
* Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptians Abroad, Ambassador Nabila Makram, participated in the celebrations after the SWVL shares were floated on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange. Makram stated that Swvl is the first mass transit company in the world to reach the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, which has proven to be a success. The president of Swvl, Mostafa Kandil, was chosen as the ambassador for this initiative.
الاقتصاد وريادة الأعمال
* تدعو الشراكة الفريدة بين وكالة آدم برادفورد ووكالة دان بولتون للإدارة الإبداعية ومجموعة الأعمال البريطانية في دبي جميع المبتكرين الشباب الذين تقل أعمارهم عن 35 عامًا لعرض أفكارهم التجارية والمشاركة في الإصدار الخاص بعام 2022 من منصة "المستقبل الملهم"، وهي منصة للأفكار الناشئة التي تتناول القضايا المجتمعية وتجعل العالم مكانًا أفضل. يمنح رواد الأعمال الطموحين فرصة لإطلاق أفكارهم.
* وقع الاتحاد السعودي للأمن السيبراني والبرمجة والطائرات بدون طيار، وهو معهد وطني يهدف إلى تمكين القوى العاملة المحلية وتعزيز قدراتها في مجالات الأمن السيبراني وتطوير البرمجيات والطائرات بدون طيار والتقنيات المتقدمة، مذكرة تعاون مع شركة حلول سباير. والهدف من الشراكة الاستراتيجية هو دعم ورعاية الشباب السعودي. سيوفر البرنامج سلسلة من الدورات القصيرة حول بعض أحدث تقنيات الأمن السيبراني.
* شاركت وزيرة الدولة للهجرة والمصريين بالخارج السفيرة نبيلة مكرم في الاحتفالات بعد طرح أسهم شركة "اس دبليو في إل" في بورصة ناسداك. وصرحت مكرم بأن "اس دبليو في إل" هي أول شركة نقل جماعي في العالم تصل إلى بورصة ناسداك، والتي أثبتت نجاحها. كما تم اختيار رئيس "اس دبليو في إل"، مصطفى قنديل، سفيراً لهذه المبادرة.
Conflict
* Four Palestinian youth were arrested on Wednesday by occupation forces from the village of Kafr Qaddoum, east of Kulayliyah.
* At dawn on the 31st of March, Occupation forces invaded Jenin camp and were met with resistance from armed Palestinians. Two hours later, the operation ended and the occupation forces announced the killing of two Palestinians, aged 27 and 17, among other injuries. The mayor of Jenin stated that the campaign led by the occupation forces was a means of intimidation, as Israel wants to invade Palestinian cities and be met with no resistance, not even rocks, in order to present the Palestinian Authority as weak.
النزاعات
* اعتقلت قوات الاحتلال، يوم الأربعاء، أربعة شبان فلسطينيين من قرية كفر قدوم شرقي القليلية.
* اقتحمت قوات الاحتلال، فجر يوم 31 من آذار الماضي مخيم جنين وواجهت مقاومة من مسلحين فلسطينيين. وبعد ساعتين انتهت العملية وأعلنت قوات الاحتلال مقتل فلسطينيين يبلغان من العمر 27 و 17 عاما من بين جرحى أخرى. وصرح رئيس بلدية جنين أن الحملة التي قادتها قوات الاحتلال كانت وسيلة للترهيب، حيث تريد إسرائيل اجتياح المدن الفلسطينية وعدم مقاومة حجارة لها حتى تظهر السلطة الفلسطينية على أنها ضعيفة.
Development
* Silatech launched a Ramadan campaign aiming to provide jobs for millions of young people in the region in the region. The program will benefit youth in more than 18 countries in the region. Thus far Silatech has succeeded, since in collaboration with its partners, it has provided over 2 million job opportunities. Their goal is to empower 5 million young men and women.
* SPARK and the Dutch Postcode Lottery released a new, remote programme to match refugees and vulnerable Iraqi and Syrian youth to remote work opportunities with national and international companies.
* UNRWA has launched its IT Service Center at its newly modernized field office in the Gaza Strip. The center became the largest IT employer in the strip; it allowed the opportunity to tap into the potential of youth in Gaza.
التنمية
* أطلقت "صلتك" حملة رمضانية لتوفير فرص عمل لملايين الشباب في المنطقة. سيستفيد الشباب من البرنامج في أكثر من 18 دولة في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا. وهذا قد نجحت "صلتك" حتى الآن، من خلال التعاون مع شركائها، بتقديم أكثر من مليوني فرصة عمل، وهدف المنظمة هو تمكين 5 ملايين شاب وشابة.
* أصدرت "سبارك" ويانصيب البريد الهولندي برنامجًا جديدًا عن بعد لمطابقة اللاجئين والشباب العراقي والسوري الضعفاء بفرص العمل عن بعد مع الشركات الوطنية والدولية.
* أطلقت الأونروا مركز خدمات تكنولوجيا المعلومات في مكتبها الميداني الذي تم تحديثه مؤخرا في قطاع غزة. وأصبح المركز أكبر صاحب عمل لتكنولوجيا المعلومات في القطاع؛ وأتاح الفرصة للاستفادة من إمكانات الشباب في غزة.
Education
* Save the Children convened in the British Embassy in Qatar to discuss the humanitarian crisis facing children and youth in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. According to the UN's 2022 Humanitarian Needs Overview, an estimated 678,000 children are in need of child protection services, about 25% of children aged 16-17 are out of school, and young people face multiple obstacles securing a job once they do leave education. Save the Children and its partners have voiced their concern for the wellbeing of children in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
* BASF, the world's leading chemical company, collaborates with INJAZ Egypt to host the "Innovation Camp" program to public university students. The camp will target students aged 17 to 21, specialized in the science and chemical engineering fields. The core objective is to promote the concept of entrepreneurship and develop the participants’ innovation skills.
* Students at the Egyptian University of Tanta won the hackathon competition. Over 50 universities took part in it and around 500 teams to help enhance programmers thought process to present smart ideas and programs to improve the state of cities and achieve environmental sustainability.
التعليم
* اجتمعت منظمة إنقاذ الطفل في السفارة البريطانية في قطر لمناقشة الأزمة الإنسانية التي يواجهها الأطفال والشباب في الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة. وفقًا لاستعراض الأمم المتحدة للاحتياجات الهائلة لعام 2022، هناك ما يقدر بـ 678000 طفل بحاجة إلى خدمات حماية الطفل، وحوالي 25٪ من الأطفال الذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين 16 و17 عامًا خارج المدرسة، ويواجه الشباب عقبات متعددة في الحصول على وظيفة بمجرد تركهم التعليم. وأعربت منظمة إنقاذ الطفولة وشركاؤها عن قلقهم بشأن رفاهية الأطفال في الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة.
* تتعاون "باسف"، الشركة الكيميائية الرائدة في العالم، مع إنجاز مصر لاستضافة برنامج "مخيم الابتكار" لطلاب الجامعات الحكومية. سيستهدف المخيم الطلاب الذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين 17 و 21 عامًا والمتخصصين في مجالات العلوم والهندسة الكيميائية. والهدف الأساسي هو تعزيز مفهوم ريادة الأعمال وتطوير مهارات الابتكار لدى المشاركين.
* فاز طلاب جامعة طنطا المصرية بمسابقة الهاكاثون. شاركت فيها أكثر من 50 جامعة وحوالي 500 فريق للمساعدة في تعزيز عملية تفكير المبرمجين لتقديم أفكار وبرامج ذكية لتحسين حالة المدن وتحقيق الاستدامة البيئية.
Environment
* Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation of Egypt, participated in the first-ever Middle East and North Africa Climate Week held in Dubai. During her participation in the "Youth Action and Gender Sensitive" panel, she shared that she urged the increasing of meaningful youth participation in policy and decision making processes to ensure more ambitious climate action. She noted that youth are one of the most vulnerable groups affected by climate change. She called for the urgent need to build youth's capacities through technical support, raising awareness, etc. She added that despite global effort, youth participation is still low, which is a main challenge to achieving sustainable development.
* On the sidelines of the MENA Climate Week 2022, the Federal Youth Authority, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the Arab Youth Council for Climate Change organized a youth circle titled "The Road to COP27 and COP28". The goal of the session was to empower young people and enhance their participation in shaping and implementing future directions as a strategic priority for the UAE.
* Ahmad Fathy, president of the Youth Love Egypt Foundation, met with Nigel Topping, the British climate envoy and pioneer, on the sidelines of the MENA Climate week. The meeting reviewed the efforts of the Youth Love Egypt Foundation at the 26th Climate Summit, as well as initiatives and activities launched by the foundation. They also discussed the role of the youth in the 26th and 27th Climate summits, while emphasizing strengthening cooperation as a common issue.

* شاركت الدكتورة رانيا المشاط، وزيرة التعاون الدولي في مصر، في أسبوع المناخ الأول من نوعه في الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا الذي أقيم في دبي. خلال مشاركتها في لجنة "العمل الشبابي والمراعاة للنوع الاجتماعي"، وقالت أنها حثت على زيادة مشاركة الشباب الحكيم في عملية صنع السياسات والقرارات لضمان المزيد من العمل المناخي الطموح. وأشارت إلى أن الشباب هم من أكثر الفئات تأثراً بتغير المناخ. ودعت إلى الحاجة الملحة لبناء قدرات الشباب من خلال الدعم الفني والتوعية وما إلى ذلك. وأضافت أنه على الرغم من الجهود العالمية، لا تزال مشاركة الشباب منخفضة، وهو ما يمثل تحديًا رئيسيًا لتحقيق التنمية المستدامة.
* على هامش أسبوع المناخ في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا 2022، نظمت الهيئة الاتحادية للشباب ووزارة التغير المناخي والبيئة ومجلس الشباب العربي لتغير المناخ حلقة شبابية بعنوان "الطريق إلى مؤتمري الأطراق 27 و28". وكان الهدف من الجلسة تمكين الشباب وتعزيز مشاركتهم في تشكيل وتنفيذ التوجهات المستقبلية كأولوية استراتيجية لدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة.
* التقى أحمد فتحي، رئيس مؤسسة "شباب بتحب مصر" بنايجل توبينج، المبعوث البريطاني الرائد للمناخ، على هامش أسبوع المناخ في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا. واستعرض الاجتماع جهود المؤسسة في القمة المناخية السادسة والعشرون، بالإضافة إلى المبادرات والأنشطة التي أطلقتها المؤسسة. كما ناقشوا دور الشباب في القمتين 26 و 27 المناخ، مع التأكيد على تعزيز التعاون كقضية مشتركة.
