Politics and Political Engagement
* Several Tunisian civil organizations criticized the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) for the severe censorship it is imposing on independent media organizations. The organizations criticized “the ISIE's lack of interest regarding the integrity and transparency of the electoral process and the provision of a proper electoral atmosphere based on freedom. Instead, it devoted all its efforts to tracking people's opinions, trying to impose censorship, prosecuting opinion-makers and threatening candidates, media and organizations.” They called on all various civil and human rights groups and youth movements to “reject these backward practices, which represent an outdated exclusionary mentality, and to mobilize to fight it.”
* The “Youth of the Neighborhoods of Tehran” group called on citizens in to participate in the Great Market of Tehran March last Saturday to support the sellers and shop owners, who announced that they would demonstrate after the great collapse of the Iranian currency and the recession of the market.
* In Jordan, Irada Party (under establishment) met with a number of young men and women from Zarqa, who enacted volunteer initiatives that contributed to the advancement of the local community in several sectors. It was reported that the event ran for three hours and featured a number of questions from the attendees, resulting in many joining the party, ahead of its anticipated founding conference.
السياسة والاندماج السياسي
* انتقدت عدة منظمات مدنية تونسية الهيئة العليا المستقلة للانتخابات للرقابة الشديدة التي تفرضها على المؤسسات الإعلامية المستقلة. وانتقدت المنظمات "عدم اهتمام الهيئة العليا المستقلة للانتخابات بنزاهة وشفافية العملية الانتخابية وتوفير مناخ انتخابي مناسب قائم على الحرية. وبدلاً من ذلك، كرست كل جهودها لتتبع آراء الناس، ومحاولة فرض الرقابة، ومقاضاة أصحاب الرأي وتهديد المرشحين ووسائل الإعلام والمنظمات". ودعوا جميع الجماعات المدنية وحقوق الإنسان والحركات الشبابية إلى "رفض هذه الممارسات المتخلفة، التي تمثل عقلية إقصائية عفا عليها الزمن، والتعبئة لمكافحتها".
* دعت جماعة "شباب أحياء طهران" المواطنين للمشاركة في مظاهرة في أسواق طهران الكبرى يوم السبت الماضي لدعم البائعين وأصحاب المحلات الذين أعلنوا أنهم سيتظاهرون بعد الانهيار الكبير للعملة الإيرانية والركود في السوق.
* في الأردن، التقى حزب الإرادة السياسي (تحت التأسيس) بعدد من الشباب والشابات من محافظة الزرقاء، والذين سبق وأن نفذوا مبادرات تطوعية ساهمت في النهوض بالمجتمع المحلي في عدة قطاعات. ويذكر أن الحفل استمر لمدة ثلاث ساعات وشمل عددا من الأسئلة من الحضور، وانتهى بانضمام الكثير من الحضور للحزب، وذلك قبل المؤتمر التأسيسي المرتقب.
Economics and Entrepreneurship
* The National Telecommunication Institute revealed that it will be organizing a new session of the “Egypt Digital Youth Evening Initiative”, which aims to build the capacities of youth in the field of communications and information technology. The course is organized during the month of February in several tracks, including networks, security, virtualization, embedded systems and the Internet of things, information technology, and career development. Participants can receive training on Fridays and Saturdays for six hours per day, or choose evening appointments three days per week, for four hours per day. The deadline for registration is January 15, 2023.
* The Tabuk Youth Council concluded a number of training workshops under the “Deem Tabuk” initiative, implemented in cooperation with the Social Development Bank. The workshops focused on training youth on conducting economic feasibility study, e-marketing, branding, and enriching the entrepreneurial spirit of young men and women to launch their projects.
* Despite a global slowdown in venture capital deal-making, Iraq’s start-up scene can boast a number of successful deals in 2022. As security improves and as Iraqi youth continue to innovate, there is growing interest in the market. Iraqi start-ups raised a total of $16 million from six deals in 2022 compared to $7 million from seven deals in 2021, according to Magnitt, a Dubai-based data platform on MENA start-ups.
الاقتصاد وريادة الأعمال
* كشف المعهد القومي للاتصالات عن أنه ينظم دورة جديدة من "مبادرة أمسية شباب مصر الرقمية" التي تهدف إلى بناء قدرات الشباب في مجال الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات. ويتم تنظيم الدورة خلال شهر شباط / فبراير في عدة مسارات، بما في ذلك الشبكات، والأمن، والمحاكاة الافتراضية، والأنظمة المدمجة وإنترنت الأشياء، وتكنولوجيا المعلومات، والتطوير الوظيفي. ويمكن للمشاركين الحصول على تدريب يومي الجمعة والسبت لمدة ست ساعات في اليوم، أو اختيار مواعيد مسائية ثلاثة أيام في الأسبوع، لمدة أربع ساعات في اليوم. والجدير بالذكر أنه آخر موعد للتسجيل هو 15 كانون الثاني / يناير 2023.
* اختتم مجلس شباب تبوك عددا من ورش العمل التدريبية في إطار مبادرة ديم تبوك بالتعاون مع بنك التنمية الاجتماعية. وركزت ورش العمل على تدريب الشباب على إجراء دراسة الجدوى الاقتصادية، والتسويق الإلكتروني، والعلامات التجارية، وإثراء روح المبادرة لدى الشباب والشابات لإطلاق مشاريعهم.
* على الرغم من أنه هناك انحدار في صفقات رأس المال الاستثماري، يمكن أن يتباهى مشهد الشركات الناشئة في العراق بعدد من الصفقات الناجحة في عام 2022. فمع تحسن الأمن ومع استمرار الشباب العراقي في الابتكار، هناك اهتمام متزايد بالسوق، فقد جمعت الشركات العراقية الناشئة ما مجموعه 16 مليون دولار من ست صفقات في عام 2022 مقارنة بـ 7 ملايين دولار من سبع صفقات في عام 2021، وذلك فقًا لماجنيت، منصة بيانات حول الشركات الناشئة في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا.
Conflict
* The Israeli occupation forces arrested more than 20 Palestinians in separate parts of the West Bank after several raids of civilian homes in multiple towns and cities. The occupation forces transferred all detainees to detention centers for interrogation in cases related to resistance to the occupation.
* A report by Palestinian human rights organizations revealed that the Israeli occupation forces arrested 7,000 Palestinians, including 882 children and 172 women, from the governorates of the West Bank and Gaza during 2022. The number of Palestinian detainees by the Israeli occupation forces is higher than 2021.
* Although there is no official statistics on the number of immigrants from Gaza, it is estimated that more than 200,000 people, most of whom are youth, who emigrated permanently or temporarily since 2007. According to the Masarat Center for Human Rights, 36,000 people have left Gaza in the past five years. It is worth noting that 80% of young people who graduate from universities in Gaza are unemployed, as Israel has imposed a tight land, sea and air blockade on the Gaza Strip since 2007.
* The Youth of Anger in Wadi Hadhramout, in Yemen, reiterated their demands for the implementation of the military component of the Riyadh Agreement, with the aim of disarming the first military region, which is controlled by the Brotherhood, from Wadi Hadramout. A statement issued by the group said that the liberation of Wadi Hadramout is a popular demand and pledged to continue the popular uprising and peaceful popular escalation until the liberation of the first military zone.
النزاعات
* اعتقلت قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي أكثر من 20 فلسطينيا في مناطق متفرقة من الضفة الغربية بعد عدة مداهمات لمنازل المدنيين في عدة بلدات ومدن. ونقلت قوات الاحتلال جميع المعتقلين إلى معتقلات للتحقيق معهم في قضايا تتعلق بمقاومة الاحتلال.
* كشف تقرير لمنظمات حقوقية فلسطينية، أن قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي اعتقلت 7000 فلسطيني، بينهم 882 طفلاً، و 172 امرأة، من محافظات الضفة الغربية المختلفة ومن غزة خلال عام 2022. ويعد عدد المعتقلين الفلسطينيين لدى قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي خلال العام المنصرم أعلى من عام 2021.
* على الرغم من عدم وجود إحصائيات رسمية حول عدد المهاجرين من غزة، إلا أنه يقدر أن أكثر من 200000 شخص، معظمهم من الشباب، قد هاجروا بشكل دائم أو مؤقت منذ عام 2007. ووفقًا لمركز مسارات لحقوق الإنسان، فقد هاجر نحو 36000 شخص خارج غزة في السنوات الخمس الماضية. ويذكر أن 80٪ من الشباب الذين تخرجوا من جامعات غزة عاطلون عن العمل، حيث تفرض إسرائيل حصارًا بريًا وبحريًا وجويًا مشددًا على قطاع غزة منذ عام 2007.
* جدد شباب الغضب بوادي حضرموت في اليمن مطالبهم بتحقيق الشق العسكري لاتفاق الرياض، وذلك بهدف نزع السلاح في المنطقة العسكرية الأولى والتي يسيطر عليها الإخوان من وادي حضرموت. وقال بيان صادر عن شباب الغضب إن تحرير وادي حضرموت مطلب شعبي وتعهدت المجموعة بمواصلة الانتفاضة الشعبية والتصعيد الشعبي السلمي حتى تحرير المنطقة العسكرية الأولى.
Development
* Youth of the Jordanian volunteer platform “Nahno” have been proving with their efforts and determination that giving is not only an act of good, but also a sustainable work and an indication of true citizenship, based on giving and solidarity with all members of society. Because investing in youth is the most profitable investment, the efforts of the Nahno platform focused on encouraging young people to seek volunteer work to leave a positive change in their societies, as their participation is considered an essential element in supporting comprehensive and sustainable development programs. Nahno has attracted more than 106,000 volunteers, who have achieved more than 2.9 million volunteer hours since the launch of the platform. The volunteer opportunities offered by the platform varied to include distance education support services, implementation of awareness campaigns, development of programs and applications for smart phones, and educational workshops for disease prevention, in addition to providing various forms of support to institutions such as producing and filmmaking.
* The Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports in Sharkia organized a training course on crisis and disaster management, attended by 30 young men and women. The workshop focused on procedures that must be followed to deal with crises, raise community awareness, and encourage a culture of volunteer work in the field of disaster risk reduction.
التنمية
* أثبت شباب برنامج التطوع الأردني "نحن" بجهودهم وتصميمهم أن العطاء ليس عمل خير فحسب، بل عمل مستدام ومؤشر على المواطنة الحقيقية، على أساس العطاء والتضامن مع جميع أفراد المجتمع. ولأن الاستثمار في الشباب هو الاستثمار الأكثر ربحية، فقد ركزت جهود منصة "نحن" على تشجيع الشباب على السعي للعمل التطوعي لترك تغيير إيجابي في مجتمعاتهم، حيث تعتبر مشاركتهم عنصرًا أساسيًا في دعم برامج التنمية الشاملة والمستدامة. واجتذبت "نحن" أكثر من 106000 متطوع، قضوا أكثر من 2.9 مليون ساعة تطوعية منذ إطلاق المنصة. وتنوعت الفرص التطوعية التي توفرها المنصة لتشمل خدمات دعم التعليم عن بعد، ودعم تنفيذ حملات توعية، وتطوير برامج وتطبيقات للهواتف الذكية، وورش عمل تثقيفية للوقاية من الأمراض، بالإضافة إلى تقديم أشكال مختلفة من الدعم للمؤسسات مثل إنتاج وصناعة الأفلام.
* نظمت وزارة الشباب والرياضة المصرية بمحافظة الشرقية دورة تدريبية حول إدارة الأزمات والكوارث، حضرها 30 شاب وشابة. وركزت الورشة على الإجراءات التي يجب اتباعها للتعامل مع الأزمات، ورفع الوعي المجتمعي، وتشجيع ثقافة العمل التطوعي في مجال الحد من مخاطر الكوارث.
Education
* The Jordanian National Company for Employment and Training and the Aqaba Governorate Council signed cooperation agreement with the goal of addressing the needs of the Jordanian labor market, by training young people in various craft professions, in line with the national strategy for human resources development. It also looks to enhance the capacities of youth to contribute to the development of the local community.

* وقعت الشركة الوطنية الأردنية للتشغيل والتدريب اتفاقية تعاون مع مجلس محافظة العقبة وذلك بهدف تلبية احتياجات سوق العمل الأردني، من خلال تدريب الشباب في مختلف المهن الحرفية، بشكل يتماشى مع الاستراتيجية الوطنية لتنمية الموارد البشرية. كما تتطلع هذه الاتفاقية إلى تعزيز قدرات الشباب الأردني نحو المساهمة في تنمية المجتمع المحلي.
