Politics and Political Engagement
* The Executive Office of the European Palestinian Youth Federation “Shabab” held its periodic meeting via the “Zoom”, during which it discussed the recent developments in Palestine, especially in terms of the escalation of the fierce attacks launched by the Israeli occupation forces and settlers against Palestinians. In the West Bank and inside the occupied city of Jerusalem and its neighborhoods, the attacks affect Palestinian prisoners in the prisons of the Israeli occupation, and the continued imposition of an unjust siege on Palestinians in Gaza along with the difficult economic conditions that refugee families face in refugee camps.
* Saray FM is an Arab radio based in Turkey, whose objective is to highlight the presence of the Arab community in the country and be a source of hope and comfort for those of them who have had to leave their home countries for various reasons. Modhesh Ben Hariz, the director general of the radio, stated that the radio is meant to be "an outlet for Arab youth by raising issues and providing solutions to problems through outstanding radio programs".
* The presidential office of the Arab Youth Union held its first meetings in Cairo with the leaders of the presidential office of Egypt, in the context of the upcoming World Youth Forum in 2022.

* عقد المكتب التنفيذي لاتحاد الشباب الأوروبي الفلسطيني “شباب” اجتماعه الدوري عبر منصة “زووم”، ناقش خلاله التطورات الأخيرة في فلسطين، لا سيما فيما يتعلق بتصعيد الاعتداءات الشرسة التي تشنها قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي والمستوطنين ضد الفلسطينيين في الضفة الغربية. وتطال الاعتداءات على الأسرى الفلسطينيين في سجون الاحتلال الإسرائيلي داخل مدينة القدس المحتلة وأحيائها. كما يستمر فرض الحصار الجائر على الفلسطينيين في غزة إلى جانب الظروف الاقتصادية الصعبة التي تواجه عائلات اللاجئين في مخيمات اللاجئين.
* سراي اف ام هي إذاعة عربية مقرها تركيا، تهدف إلى إبراز وجود الجالية العربية في البلاد وتكون مصدر أمل وراحة لمن اضطروا إلى مغادرة بلدانهم الأصلية لأسباب مختلفة. وأشار مدهش بن حريز، مدير عام الإذاعة، إلى أن الهدف من هذه الإذاعة هو أن تكون "منفذًا للشباب العربي من خلال طرح القضايا وتقديم الحلول للمشكلات من خلال البرامج الإذاعية المتميزة".
* عقد المكتب الرئاسي لاتحاد الشباب العربي اجتماعاته الأولى بالقاهرة مع قيادات المكتب الرئاسي في مصر، في سياق منتدى الشباب العالمي القادم في عام 2022.
Economics and Entrepreneurship
* The Jordanian Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmad Hanandeh stressed the importance and role of Jordanian youth in achieving the greatest achievements in various fields and sectors, during his meeting with Minister of Youth Muhammad al-Nabulsi with members of the communications and information technology sector in the training youth government, one of the programs of the Political Institute in the Ministry of Youth. During the meeting, Hanandeh referred to the role of Jordanian youth in the field of communications, information technology and entrepreneurship locally, regionally, and globally, stressing the government's keenness to develop digital skills among Jordanian youth that are compatible with the requirements of the future labor market through a number of programs and projects supervised by the Ministry by empowering them intellectually and training them on global practices in the field of information and communication technology. Minister of Youth said that the Political Institute program is one of the main programs implemented by the Ministry of Youth in the context of political empowerment of youth. He added that the Political Institute, with its programs "Youth Parliament and Youth Government", represents a national youth umbrella that translates the ideas and proposals of young people in public affairs.
* In Egypt, Abdel Wakeel Ali has launched the "zero initiative", which looks to completely eradicate unemployment among the Egyptian youth. Ali stated that many free courses will be available to young people across the country, to qualify them in "freelance" jobs specifically, allowing them to work from home in fields such as graphic design.
* The Arab African International Bank signed a protocol with the Information Technology Institute of Egypt. This protocol is meant to provide specialized trainings for young people, to give them the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the qualifications of the markets of information and communications technology.
* Uplive, a live video social entertainment platform, has launched a television commercial advertising its newest initiative, meant to promote the work of creators based in the MENA region. Andy Tan, the CEO and Co-founder of Asia Innovations Group, which owns Uplive has said: “The gig economy is an important resource that needs to be supported through innovation. As the youth population continues to grow and the scarcity of jobs also continues to rise, we need to encourage the local youth to tap into their talents and use Uplive to market themselves to a global audience and in the process make a decent living out of it." meaning that social media apps such as Uplive could represent a new market of employment for the youth of the region.
* The World Youth Forum invited its followers to join the discussions on women's empowerment and share their opinions through a message published on its official Facebook page, which said: “It has become clear that women are strong engines and rising economic stars in developing countries with their wonderful initiatives and projects.” The Forum noted that there is also a growing recognition that women entrepreneurs are the new engines of sustainable economic growth.
الاقتصاد وريادة الأعمال
* أكد وزير الاقتصاد الرقمي وريادة الأعمال الأردني، أحمد هناندة، على أهمية ودور الشباب الأردني في تحقيق أعظم الإنجازات في مختلف المجالات والقطاعات، وذلك خلال لقائه ووزير الشباب محمد النابلسي بأعضاء قطاع الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات في حكومة تدريب الشباب، وهو أحد برامج المعهد السياسي في وزارة الشباب. وأشار هناندة خلال الاجتماع إلى دور الشباب الأردني في مجال الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات وريادة الأعمال محلياً وإقليمياً وعالمياً، مؤكداً حرص الحكومة على تطوير المهارات الرقمية لدى الشباب الأردني بما يتناسب مع متطلبات سوق عمل المستقبل، وذلك من خلال عدد من البرامج والمشاريع التي تشرف عليها الوزارة من خلال تمكينهم فكريا وتدريبهم على الممارسات العالمية في مجال تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات. وقال وزير الشباب إن برنامج المعهد السياسي هو أحد البرامج الرئيسية التي تنفذها وزارة الشباب في إطار التمكين السياسي للشباب. وأضاف أن المعهد السياسي ببرامجه "برلمان الشباب وحكومة الشباب" يمثل مظلة وطنية للشباب تترجم أفكار ومقترحات الشباب في الشأن العام.
* في مصر، أطلق عبد الوكيل علي "مبادرة الصفر"، التي تهدف إلى القضاء التام على البطالة بين الشباب المصري. وذكر علي أن العديد من الدورات المجانية ستكون متاحة للشباب في جميع أنحاء البلاد، لتأهيلهم في وظائف "مستقلة" على وجه التحديد، مما يسمح لهم بالعمل من المنزل في مجالات مثل التصميم الجرافيكي.
* وقع البنك العربي الأفريقي الدولي بروتوكول مع معهد تكنولوجيا المعلومات المصري. ويهدف هذا البروتوكول إلى توفير دورات تدريبية متخصصة للشباب، لإكسابهم المهارات والمعرفة اللازمة لتلبية مؤهلات أسواق تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات.

* دعا منتدى شباب العالم متابعيه للانضمام إلى النقاشات الخاصة بتمكين المرأة ومشاركة آرائهم من خلال رسالة نشرت على صفحته الرسمية على فيسبوك جاء فيها: "لقد اتضح أن المرأة هي محرك قوي ونجم اقتصادي صاعد في الدول النامية من خلال مبادراتهم ومشاريعهم الرائعة ". وأشار المنتدى إلى أن هناك أيضًا إدراكًا متزايدًا بأن رائدات الأعمال هن المحركات الجديدة للنمو الاقتصادي المستدام.
Conflict
* Alhurra published a report on December 31, 2021 highlighting that a trend that many Lebanese youth are leaving their homes and joining Daesh in Iraq. “Mom, I am in Iraq” were the words of a young Lebanese to his mother over the phone, one month after he went missing in Tripoli. The report adds that youth, most of whom are below the age of 20, are increasingly disappearing from Tripoli, only to be found weeks later, as part of the terrorist group in Iraq. The report also indicates that anywhere between 35-50 young Lebanese are disappearing, while Ahmed Al-Ayoubi – an activist and expert on Islamist groups – states that over 150 young Lebanese from Tripoli are now part of Daesh.
* The Middle East Monitor reported on December 31 that the Israeli army killed a Palestinian youth in the north of the West Bank. The report highlights that the Israeli army has killed 324 Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza between January 1 – December 20 of 2021, according to data from the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
* The Spanish newspaper "Larazon" said that dozens of young Moroccans tried to illegally seek refuge in the Spanish city of Melilla to avoid military service in Morocco. The newspaper pointed out that security forces in Melilla faced a large influx of migrants last Wednesday, stressing that 80 young Moroccans, "between 17 and 20 years old", tried to climb the wall separating the city and Morocco, as 20 of them succeeded in entering the city. The newspaper pointed out that illegal entry processes are usually carried out by migrants from sub-Saharan countries, but this time it was revealed that there are many young Moroccans trying to go to Spain to seek asylum. Moroccan media reported the launch of a census process for forced conscription on December 13 and will continue until February 10, 2022.
* The Lebanese authorities intercepted and confiscated nine million pills of the fenethylline drug Captagon inside a shipment of fruit, expected to be delivered to the Gulf region. The Lebanese customs arrested several perpetrators and started the investigation at the Beirut port. A report by AlJazeera highlights that the Lebanese authorities are enhancing their oversight efforts to resolve Lebanon’s diplomatic rift with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait.

* نشر موقع الحرة تقريرًا في 31 كانون الأول / ديسمبر 2021 يسلط فيه الضوء على توجه كثير من الشباب اللبنانيين إلى مغادرة منازلهم والانضمام إلى داعش في العراق. Development
* The Al Bayan Youth Council was launched last Monday and is the first youth council of a media institution at the state level in the UAE. Muna Busmara, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper, stated that the council will play an important role in development, innovation, and entrepreneurship. She added that the council will qualify youth to take leading roles in the press in the future.
* Dr. Jalal Zanti won the first prize of the Arab Youth Award, for a study he conducted on "communication without communication", which focused on the effect social media has on the youth, as its use has increased over the past years in Egypt.
* Around half a million of participants from 196 countries across the world have registered for the fourth edition of the World Youth Forum, set to take place in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt in January 2022. The management team of the Forum announced that there would be a model simulation of the international human rights council of the United Nations (MUN) taking place during the Forum.
* The World Youth Forum announced a public invitation on its Facebook page to attend the fourth edition of the Forum, which is scheduled to be held in Sharm Al-Sheikh, Egypt between January 10-13 under the patronage of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi. The Forum aims to gather youth from around the world to enhance dialogue and discuss development challenges.
* On Saturday, the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports reopened a building in Ramadi that was used as a prison when the Islamic State had seized the city in 2014. This building will now be used as a recreational center for young girls and boys in the city. Youth volunteers helped rehabilitate the building over the past 3 years.
التنمية
* انطلق مجلس شباب البيان يوم الاثنين الماضي، وهو أول مجلس شبابي لمؤسسة إعلامية على مستوى الدولة في الامارات. وقالت منى بوسمرة، رئيسة تحرير الصحيفة، إن المجلس سيلعب دورًا مهمًا في التنمية والابتكار وريادة الأعمال. وأضافت أن المجلس سيؤهل الشباب لتولي أدوار رائدة في الصحافة في المستقبل.
* حصل الدكتور جلال زانتي، على الجائزة الأولى لجائزة الشباب العربي، عن الدراسة التي أجراها حول "التواصل بدون تواصل"، والتي ركزت على تأثير وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي على الشباب، حيث زاد استخدامها خلال السنوات الماضية في مصر.
* سجل حوالي نصف مليون مشارك من 196 دولة في جميع أنحاء العالم للمشاركة في الدورة الرابعة لمنتدى الشباب العالمي، المقرر عقده في شرم الشيخ، مصر في كانون الثاني / يناير 2022. وأعلن فريق إدارة المنتدى أنه سيجري خلال المنتدى محاكاة نموذجية للمجلس الدولي لحقوق الإنسان التابع للأمم المتحدة.
* أعلن منتدى شباب العالم على صفحته على فيسبوك دعوة عامة لحضور النسخة الرابعة من المنتدى، والمقرر عقدها في شرم الشيخ، مصر في الفترة من 10 إلى 13 كانون الثاني / يناير الجاري، تحت رعاية الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي. ويهدف المنتدى إلى جمع الشباب من جميع أنحاء العالم لتعزيز الحوار ومناقشة تحديات التنمية.
* أعادت وزارة الشباب والرياضة العراقية يوم السبت فتح مبنى في الرمادي كان يستخدم كسجن عندما استولى تنظيم الدولة الإسلامية على المدينة في 2014. سيتم الآن استخدام هذا المبنى كمركز ترفيهي للفتيات والفتيان الصغار في المدينة. ساعد المتطوعون الشباب في إعادة تأهيل المبنى على مدى السنوات الثلاث الماضية.
Education
* The one-day conference “Youth, Hopes and Aspirations” launched its activities in Luxor, Egypt. The conference will include two dialogue sessions, the first entitled “Extremism and Rejection of Violence”, and the session will be moderated by Mohamed Imam, the media official in the Luxor Culture Branch. It will also feature lectures by Mahmoud El-Noubi, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, among others. The second session is entitled “Vacuity and Lack of Purpose” and will be lectured by Ahmed Mohie Hamza, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Luxor. On the sidelines of the conference, a workshop will be held for young people, providing academic and professional training to keep pace with the challenges of the labor market inside and outside Egypt. Then the conference ends with recommendations, a closing ceremony and honoring the participants.
* Egyptian Representative Martha Mahrous, a member of the Coordination’s Committee of Party’s Youth Leaders and Politicians (CPYP) said, “the education minister has a plan to develop education, but we are facing two dynamics, the first is the strategy and the second is the reality, and the strategy must match through the infrastructure and the number of teachers in order for it to succeed”.
التعليم
* انطلق مؤتمر "شباب وأمل وتطلعات" الذي استمر ليوم واحد في مدينة الأقصر بمصر. وسيشمل المؤتمر جلستين حوار الأولى بعنوان "التطرف ونبذ العنف" ويدير الجلسة محمد إمام المسؤول الإعلامي بفرع ثقافة الأقصر. كما ستشمل محاضرات لمحمود النوبي، نائب عميد كلية الألسن، من بين آخرين. أما الجلسة الثانية فهي بعنوان "فراغ وانعدام الهدف" ويحاضر فيها أحمد محيي حمزة عميد كلية الفنون الجميلة بالأقصر. وستقام على هامش المؤتمر ورشة عمل للشباب تقدم تدريباً أكاديمياً ومهنياً لمواكبة تحديات سوق العمل داخل مصر وخارجها. ثم يختتم المؤتمر بالتوصيات وحفل ختامي وتكريم المشاركين.
* قالت النائبة المصرية مارثا محروس، عضو تنسيقية شباب الأحزاب والسياسيين: "لدى وزير التعليم خطة لتطوير التعليم، لكننا نواجه موقفين مختلفين، الأول هو الاستراتيجية والثاني هو الواقع، والاستراتيجية يجب أن تتطابق من خلال البنية التحتية وعدد المعلمين حتى تنجح ".
Environment
* Youth of the Million Youth Volunteer Initiative for Climate Adaptation launched the “Youth for Climate” movement and the “Women for Climate” movement to urge society toward climate adaptation. The Greater Cairo Library in Zamalek is organizing the first climate workshop in cooperation with the Volunteer Team Foundation for Humanitarian Action, as part of the activities of the initiative. The founder of the initiative stated that “Young stakeholders are the most vulnerable stakeholders to the impacts of climate change, and they have gone beyond awareness and are globally taking an active role in addressing one of the greatest challenges of our time.

* أطلقت مبادرة شباب المليون متطوع شاب للتكيف مع المناخ حركة "الشباب من أجل المناخ" وحركة "النساء من أجل المناخ" لحث المجتمع على التكيف مع المناخ. وتنظم مكتبة القاهرة الكبرى بالزمالك ورشة العمل المناخية الأولى بالتعاون مع مؤسسة الفريق التطوعي للعمل الإنساني ضمن فعاليات المبادرة. وصرح مؤسس المبادرة أن "أصحاب المصلحة الشباب هم أصحاب المصلحة الأكثر تعرضًا لتأثيرات تغير المناخ، وقد تجاوزوا مستوى الوعي ويقومون عالميًا بدور نشط في مواجهة أحد أكبر التحديات في عصرنا.
COVID-19
* The World Youth Forum announced that it will hold a simulated session of the United Nations’ international human rights council, as part of its fourth edition. Over 5,000 young men and women delivered their applications to take part in the simulation, which is expected to discuss the implications of COVID-19 on human rights, among other aspects.
فايروس كورونا
* أعلن منتدى شباب العالم أنه سيعقد جلسة محاكاة لمجلس حقوق الإنسان الدولي التابع للأمم المتحدة، كجزء من نسخته الرابعة. وقدم أكثر من 5000 شاب وشابة طلباتهم للمشاركة في المحاكاة، والتي من المتوقع أن تناقش آثار جائحة فايروس كورونا على حقوق الإنسان، من بين جوانب أخرى.

Politics and Political Engagement
* According to Rami Khouri, the future of the Arab region is a bleak one for its youth. The World Inequalities Report 2022 was issued last week, and it showed that the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, has the highest level of inequality in the world, with the top 10% richest people controlling 58% of income. Khouri also highlights the high unemployment rates and more importantly, the high underemployment rates, with many young Arabs with an education being forced to take low-paying jobs. While he explains that this is a result of "inefficient, inequitable and often incompetent" management of Arab societies and economies, he also says that "these trends paint a stark picture of the hard years ahead".
* Late on Friday night, Moroccan authorities prevented several young people from entering the city of Ceuta (under Spanish administration) to emigrate to Europe. Several videos posted by Moroccan activists on social networking sites showed security forces chasing a teenager wishing to illegally migrate to Ceuta. Migration has become a huge issue concerning Moroccan youth: in November, Moroccan authorities reported that they had thwarted over 42 thousand attempts at illegal emigration since the beginning of 2021.

* يرى رامي خوري أن مستقبل المنطقة العربية مظلم وقاتم لشبابها. وصدر تقرير عدم المساواة العالمي 2022 الأسبوع الماضي، وأظهر أن منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا بها أعلى مستوى من عدم المساواة في العالم، حيث يسيطر أغنى 10٪ من الأشخاص على 58٪ من الدخل. كما يسلط خوري الضوء على معدلات البطالة المرتفعة والأهم من ذلك ارتفاع معدلات العمالة الناقصة، حيث يضطر العديد من الشباب العرب الحاصلين على تعليم إلى التوجه نحو وظائف منخفضة الأجر. وبينما يوضح أن هذا ناتج عن "الإدارة غير الفعالة وغير العادلة وغير الكفؤة في كثير من الأحيان" للمجتمعات والاقتصادات العربية، إلا أنه يقول أيضًا أن "هذه الاتجاهات ترسم صورة صارخة للسنوات الصعبة المقبلة".
* في وقت متأخر من ليلة الجمعة الماضية، منعت السلطات المغربية عددا من الشباب من دخول مدينة سبتة (تحت الإدارة الإسبانية) من أجل الهجرة إلى أوروبا. وأظهرت عدة مقاطع فيديو نشرها نشطاء مغاربة على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي قوات الأمن تطارد مراهقا يرغب في الهجرة بشكل غير قانوني إلى سبتة. وأصبحت الهجرة قضية كبيرة تتعلق بالشباب المغربي، ففي تشرين الثاني / نوفمبر، ذكرت السلطات المغربية أنها أحبطت أكثر من 42 ألف محاولة للهجرة غير الشرعية منذ بداية عام 2021.
Economics and Entrepreneurship
* According to Ismail Hadi, youth migration from the Gaza Strip has become a pressing problem, endangering the lives of many young people who seek a better life in Europe. According to the Ministry of Interior in Gaza, out of the 74 thousand people who have traveled outside of the Gaza Strip since the beginning of this year, only 57 thousand of them have returned. Most people leaving are young gradates, who hold degrees and seek for better job opportunities abroad.
* The Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) recently published the 24th edition of its Introductory Booklet on "Using Artificial Intelligence in Banking Services". It highlights the importance of AI and its usefulness in making financial services more efficient. This new publication is most notably aimed at youth in the Arab region, as it gives them knowledge on important concepts such as financial inclusion, financial technologies, artificial intelligence, and others.
* Moataz Al-khassi, a columnist for Sada al-Balad, said that a number of recommendations that came out of the World Youth Forum and were applied on the ground, most notably the establishment of a Regional Center for entrepreneurship and financing small and micro enterprises, where there was a response from the former Egyptian minister of investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr, where the first Regional Center for entrepreneurs and innovation was established in the MENA region. The writer explained that a new law on mobile food units helped young people establish mobile food units and obtain a license to express their proposals in cooperation with the government, and the government helped young people to finance these projects by making installments for their projects.

* بحسب إسماعيل هادي، فإن هجرة الشباب من قطاع غزة أصبحت مشكلة ملحة، وتهدد حياة العديد من الشباب الذين يسعون إلى حياة أفضل في أوروبا. وبحسب وزارة الداخلية في غزة، فإنه من بين 74 ألف شخص سافروا خارج قطاع غزة منذ بداية العام الجاري، عاد 57 ألفًا منهم فقط إلى القطاع. ومعظم الذين يغادرون هم من الخريجين الشباب، الذين يحملون شهادات ويسعون للحصول على فرص عمل أفضل في الخارج.
* أصدر صندوق النقد العربي مؤخرا الطبعة 24 من كتيبه التمهيدي حول "استخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي في الخدمات المصرفية". ويسلط الضوء على أهمية الذكاء الاصطناعي وفائدته في جعل الخدمات المالية أكثر كفاءة. ويستهدف هذا المنشور الجديد بشكل خاص الشباب في المنطقة العربية، حيث يمنحهم المعرفة بمفاهيم مهمة مثل الشمول المالي، والتقنيات المالية، والذكاء الاصطناعي، وما إلى ذلك.
* قال معتز الخاصي، كاتب صحفي يومي في صحيفة صدى البلد، إن عددا من التوصيات التي انبثقت عن منتدى شباب العالم قد تم تطبيقها على أرض الواقع، وكان أبرزها إنشاء مركز إقليمي لريادة الأعمال وتمويل المشاريع الصغيرة ومتناهية الصغر، حيث كان هناك رد من وزيرة الاستثمار والتعاون الدولي المصرية السابقة سحر نصر، حيث تم إنشاء أول مركز إقليمي لريادة الأعمال والابتكار في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا. وأوضح الكاتب أن قانونا جديدا للوحدات الغذائية المتنقلة ساعد الشباب على إنشاء وحدات غذائية متنقلة والحصول على ترخيص للتعبير عن مقترحاتهم بالتعاون مع الحكومة، وساعدت الحكومة الشباب على تمويل هذه المشاريع من خلال دفع أقساط لمشاريعهم.
Conflict
* According to Kerry Anderson, migration will be a key issue for the Middle East in 2022, stating that 15% of the world's migrants live in Arab countries. She also mentions the propensity of Arab youth to migrate outside of the region, quoting the Arab youth Survey, that found that 33% of young Arabs either want to emigrate or have considered doing it. She mentions the lack of economic opportunity for the large cohort of young jobseekers as the main reason behind this. She recommends that "governments should prepare for increased migration while also working to provide young people with a sense of stability and opportunity."
* Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) has recently been trying to appeal to the Arab youth, by releasing a video of a Palestinian operation against Israelis. The video shows a run-down and stabbing operation of Palestinian youth against Israelis, an attempt by the organization's leadership to sympathize with Arab youth, especially Yemenis.

* وفقا لكيري أندرسون، ستكون الهجرة قضية رئيسية للشرق الأوسط في عام 2022، مشيرا إلى أن 15٪ من المهاجرين في العالم يعيشون في الدول العربية. كما ذكرت أن الشباب العربي يميل إلى الهجرة إلى خارج المنطقة، نقلا عن استطلاع الشباب العربي، الذي وجد أن 33٪ من الشباب العربي إما يرغبون في الهجرة أو يفكرون في القيام بذلك. وتشير إلى عدم وجود فرصة اقتصادية للفوج الكبير من الشباب الباحثين عن عمل باعتباره السبب الرئيسي وراء ذلك. وتوصي بأن "الحكومات يجب أن تستعد لزيادة الهجرة مع العمل أيضا على تزويد الشباب بشعور من الاستقرار والفرص."
* يحاول تنظيم القاعدة في شبه الجزيرة العربية مؤخرا جذب الشباب العربي، من خلال نشر شريط فيديو لعملية فلسطينية ضد الإسرائيليين. ويظهر الفيديو عملية طعن لشباب فلسطينيين ضد إسرائيليين، وهي محاولة من قبل قيادة المنظمة لكسب وتجنيد الشباب العربي، وخاصة اليمنيين.
Development
* The Arab Research and Studies Institute of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) awarded the Arab Youth Award 2021 to Egyptian, Kuwaiti, and Algerian researchers for their works: "The Future of Joint Arab action institutions", "The future of the Arab world" and "Education of the future in the Arab world and the requirements of its promotion in light of crises and global developments: a study of reality and future aspirations". The overarching theme of the award was the future of the Arab world, as well as its relations with major powers and the future of economic transformations, globalization, and education in the Arab world.
* UNESCO, in collaboration with the Mosul fine arts academy and the Belgian NGent theater company, have given 19 Iraqi film students the opportunity to take part in a four-month program, during which they get to filmshort films. They chose to film their hometown, Mosul, which was partly destroyed during Daesh's presence in the region. Mohammed Fawaz, one of the students, has said "We live in Mosul, we know everything that happened. We want to show it all to the world through cinema."
* On Friday, the Directorate of Youth and Sports in the Egyptian city of Kafr el-Sheikh organized a set of activities, as a part of a program launched by the Ministry of Youth and Sports to promote good morals and fight negative phenomena within Egyptian society. 100 young men and women participated in these activities, which tackled topics such as the spread of rumors and their effect on society, as well as the consequences of bullying. These activities also dealt with common issues within Egyptian families as well as how the youth situate themselves with regards to religion.
* The Generation Amazing Festival took place between December 14th and 18th in Doha under the slogan "All in!", where youth from around the world met and played football. This festival is meant "enable them to harness the power of football as a tool for development and peace". This festival has also strengthened Arab solidarity among the youth.
* Hassan al Thawadi the Secretary-General of the Qatari Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy wishes to inspire youth from across the world to create a lasting legacy for themselves. He spoke at the Generation Amazing Festival 2021, stating how impressed he was at the success of Generation Amazing initiative, launched by the Supreme Committee in 2009 and how this program has contributed to positive change.

* منح المعهد العربي للأبحاث والدراسات التابع للمنظمة العربية للتربية والثقافة والعلوم (الألكسو) جائزة الشباب العربي 2021 لباحثين مصريين وكويتيين وجزائريين عن أعمالهم: "مستقبل مؤسسات العمل العربي المشترك"، و"مستقبل الوطن العربي" و "التعليم في المستقبل في الوطن العربي ومتطلبات النهوض به في ظل الأزمات والتطورات العالمية: دراسة للواقع وتطلعات المستقبل". وكان الموضوع الرئيسي للجائزة هو مستقبل العالم العربي، فضلاً عن علاقاته مع القوى الكبرى ومستقبل التحولات الاقتصادية والعولمة والتعليم في العالم العربي.
* منحت اليونسكو، بالتعاون مع أكاديمية الفنون الجميلة في الموصل وشركة مسرح نجينت البلجيكية، 19 طالبا سينمائيا عراقيا الفرصة للمشاركة في برنامج مدته أربعة أشهر، يمكنهم من خلاله تصوير أفلام قصيرة. واختار الطلاب المشاركون تصوير مسقط رأسهم، الموصل، والتي دمرت جزئيا خلال وجود داعش في المنطقة. وقال محمد فواز، أحد الطلاب: "نحن نعيش في الموصل، نعرف كل ما حدث. نريد أن نظهر كل شيء للعالم من خلال السينما."
* نظمت مديرية الشباب والرياضة بمدينة كفر الشيخ المصرية، يوم الجمعة السابق، مجموعة من الأنشطة ضمن برنامج أطلقته وزارة الشباب والرياضة لتعزيز الأخلاق الحميدة ومحاربة الظواهر السلبية داخل المجتمع المصري. وشارك في هذه الأنشطة 100 شاب وشابة. وتناولت هذه الأنشطة موضوعات مثل انتشار الشائعات وتأثيرها على المجتمع وعواقب التنمر. كما تناولت هذه الأنشطة القضايا المشتركة داخل الأسر المصرية وكذلك كيفية تموضع الشباب فيما يتعلق بالدين.
* أقيم مهرجان الجيل المبهر بين 14 و18 من كانون أول / ديسمبر في الدوحة – قطر تحت شعار "الكل يشارك!"، حيث التقى شباب من جميع أنحاء العالم ولعبوا كرة القدم. ويهدف هذا المهرجان إلى "تمكينهم من تسخير قوة كرة القدم كأداة للتنمية والسلام". كما عزز هذا المهرجان التضامن العربي بين الشباب.
* يرغب السيد حسن الذوادي، أمين عام اللجنة القطرية العليا للمشاريع والإرث، في إلهام الشباب من جميع أنحاء العالم لخلق إرث دائم لأنفسهم. وتحدث في مهرجان الجيل المبهر 2021، مبينًا مدى إعجابه بنجاح مبادرة الجيل المبهر، والتي أطلقتها اللجنة العليا في عام 2009 وكيف ساهم هذا البرنامج في إحداث تغيير إيجابي.
Education
* The Arab Youth Center and Rochester University of Technology of Dubai signed a memorandum of understanding with the goal of empowering young people by providing them advanced academic knowledge in advanced technology disciplines and practical training opportunities. Signed at the youth Pavilion at Expo 2020, the MoU identifies five key areas of cooperation: academic education, executive development programs, student hands-on training, consulting and research, and joint seminars and conferences.
* The Faculty of Mass Communication of Cairo University organized the Arab Media Youth Forum, a conference spanning over three days, during which the youth from across the region engaged in discussions and participated in workshops. The discussions focused on the importance of technology, most notably social media, and its impact on the workforce. According to Howayda Mustafa, the Dean of the Faculty, the forum was meant to "educate young people about Arab media issues and qualify them to meet the needs of the labor market and international participation."
* According to Saeed Al Nazri, director general of the Emirati Federal Youth Foundation, Arab youth is strongly connected to their language, as it is an important part of their identity and that it demonstrates the values and achievements of the community. Al Nazri spoke of this during a panel discussion called “The relationship of the youth with Arabic”, as part of the Arabic Language Summit in Dubai. He also stressed UAE’s efforts to promote the importance of Arabic language among the youth, through the establishment of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center and organizing the Language Summit.
* "Young Arab novelist" was an initiative started by Dr Mahmoud Al Rajabi, the head of the digital media, radio, and television departments at the faculty of media at Middle East University, in Amman. The main goal was to initiate a group of young university students to the art of writing. Sixty young men and women were trained to write a novel and around 10 of them were able to sign contracts with the Turkish publishing house Akyol.

* وقع مركز الشباب العربي وجامعة روتشستر للتكنولوجيا في دبي مذكرة تفاهم تهدف إلى تمكين الشباب من خلال تزويدهم بالمعرفة الأكاديمية المتقدمة في تخصصات التكنولوجيا المتقدمة وفرص التدريب العملي. وتحدد مذكرة التفاهم التي تم التوقيع عليها في جناح الشباب في إكسبو دبي 2020، خمس مجالات رئيسية للتعاون وهي: التعليم الأكاديمي، وبرامج التطوير التنفيذي، والتدريب العملي للطلاب، والاستشارات والبحوث، والندوات والمؤتمرات المشتركة.
* نظمت كلية الاتصال الجماهيري بجامعة القاهرة منتدى شباب الإعلام العربي، وهو مؤتمر امتد على مدى ثلاثة أيام، شارك خلاله الشباب من جميع أنحاء المنطقة في المناقشات والمشاركة في ورش العمل. وركزت المناقشات على أهمية التكنولوجيا، وأبرزها وسائل الإعلام الاجتماعية، وتأثيرها على القوى العاملة. ووفقا لهويدة مصطفى، عميد الكلية، كان الهدف من المنتدى هو "تثقيف الشباب حول قضايا الإعلام العربي، وتأهيلهم لتلبية احتياجات سوق العمل والمشاركة الدولية."
* بحسب سعيد النظري، المدير العام للمؤسسة الاتحادية للشباب الإماراتي، فإن الشباب العربي مرتبط بشكل وثيق بلغتهم، وذلك لكونها جزءا مهما من هويتهم وتدل على قيم وإنجازات المجتمع. وتحدث النظري عن ذلك خلال حلقة نقاش بعنوان "علاقة الشباب مع اللغة العربية"، كجزء من قمة اللغة العربية في دبي. وشدد النظري أيضا على جهود دولة الإمارات في تعزيز أهمية اللغة العربية بين الشباب من خلال إنشاء مركز أبو ظبي للغة العربية وتنظيم قمة اللغة.
* "الروائي العربي الشاب" هي مبادرة بدأها الدكتور محمود الرجبي، رئيس أقسام الإعلام الرقمي والإذاعة والتلفزيون في كلية الإعلام في جامعة الشرق الأوسط في عمان، الأردن. وكان الهدف الرئيسي هو توجيه مجموعة من طلاب الجامعة الشباب إلى فن الكتابة. وقد تم تدريب ستين شابًا وشابة على كتابة رواية وتمكن حوالي 10 منهم من توقيع عقود مع دار النشر التركية أكيول.
Environment
* The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has recently developed a program called Nabta, which is meant to encourage the youth to start agricultural businesses, with the help of digital agriculture. Digital agriculture refers to the use technology to help increase profits when engaging in agricultural practices. This program will help fill the gaps in knowledge that the youth may have through training activities. These activities will "introduce the concept of digital agriculture and the use of IT within the agricultural value chain."
* Next January, the World Youth Forum will be held in Sharm el-Sheikh, with many items on the agenda, most notably the topics of environment and climate change. While this Forum is said to help strengthen Egypt's role as a leading power in the Middle East, it also puts the youth at the center of discussion. According to forum participant Khouloud Saqr, the forum serves as a platform for young people across the entire world and is "a key means of dialogue and exchange of views and different cultures".

* وقد وضعت منظمة الأغذية والزراعة (الفاو) مؤخرا برنامجا يسمى "نبتة"، والذي يهدف إلى تشجيع الشباب على بدء الأعمال الزراعية، بمساعدة واستخدام الزراعة الرقمية. تشير الزراعة الرقمية إلى استخدام التكنولوجيا للمساعدة في زيادة الأرباح عند الانخراط في الممارسات الزراعية. وسيساعد هذا البرنامج على سد الفجوات في المعرفة التي قد يكون لدى الشباب من خلال الأنشطة التدريبية. وستقوم هذه الأنشطة "بإدخال مفهوم الزراعة الرقمية واستخدامها ضمن سلسلة القيمة الزراعية."
* في كانون الثاني / يناير المقبل، سيعقد منتدى الشباب العالمي في شرم الشيخ – مصر. وستخلل المؤتمر العديد من الأجندة الهامة على جدول الأعمال، وأبرزها موضوعات البيئة وتغير المناخ. في حين يقال إن هذا المنتدى يساعد على تعزيز دور مصر كقوة رائدة في الشرق الأوسط، فإنه سيضع الشباب أيضا في مركز النقاش. وبحسب خلود صقر، مشاركة في المنتدى، فإن المنتدى بمثابة منصة للشباب في جميع أنحاء العالم، وهو "وسيلة رئيسية للحوار وتبادل وجهات النظر والثقافات المختلفة".

Politics and Political Engagement
* Municipal elections were held in the occupied territories in the West Bank by the Palestinian Organization. Hamas boycotted the elections in retaliation to the PA organization and citing possible bias towards Fatah. Palestinian youth in the West Bank stated that while these elections are democratic, they do not replace legislative elections which are "a horizon for the youth".
* The Moroccan Justice and Development party demands the Arabization of official documents after an increase in the use of French. The party was not the first to demand this, as jurists and lawyers have protested the decision prior.

* أجريت الانتخابات البلدية في الأراضي المحتلة بالضفة الغربية من قبل المنظمة الفلسطينية. قاطعت حماس الانتخابات انتقاماً من السلطة الفلسطينية وحذرت من انحيازها لفتح. وصرح الشباب الفلسطيني في الضفة الغربية أنه بالرغم من أن هذه الانتخابات ديمقراطية، إلا أنها لا تحل محل الانتخابات التشريعية التي هي "أفق للشباب".
* حزب العدالة والتنمية المغربي يطالب بتعريب الوثائق الرسمية بعد زيادة استخدام الفرنسية. ولم يكن الحزب أول من طالب بذلك، حيث اعترض رجال القانون والمحامون على القرار من قبل.
Economics and Entrepreneurship
* Unemployment continues to haunt Iraqi Kurds in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan. Iraqi youth are faced with one of two choices, unemployment and corruption or illegal immigration, which comes with its own many perils. Protests have taken place across different cities in Kurdistan, having been met with tear gas and batons, demanding the reinstating of student stipends, which were discontinued in 2014. Students also complained of nepotism and political infiltration in educational institutions.
* The "Foras" program, which was created by HRH Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, to provide Bahraini youth with practical skills needed for the workforce. The program collaborates with over 10 international organizations and offers training at said organizations to give the youth a push in their employment endeavors. The most recent company to join was Yokogawa and has hosted 10 female youth interns.
* The National Observatory for Human Development, a Moroccan governmental institution, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Fund revealed the numbers for the 2020 survey which included about 9 million Moroccan youth, about 25.3% of the total population. The survey revealed alarming numbers where 7 out of each 10 members of the youth group expressed interest in immigrating and stating that they would be happier if they were to leave Morocco. The survey also revealed that 2.3 million youth are without education and without work.
* Orange and the German Development Cooperation inaugurated its 8th digital center in the region in Amman, Jordan, which includes a coding school, a solidarity FabLab - one of the Orange Foundation's digital manufacturing workshops, and an Orange Fab (BIG by Orange) start-up accelerator, supported by Orange Ventures Africa, the investment fund. The plan is to open two more centers, one in al-Zarqa and another in collaboration with the German Jordanian University. The goal of these centers is to improve youth employability in a sustainable manner.
* The winners of the fifth edition of the annual Huawei Middle East ICT Competition in Qatar have been announced. 105 students from five different Qatari universities participated in this competition held by Huawei in collaboration with the ministry of education and higher education. The winners will now move on to representing Qatar in the regional competition.
* INJAZ UAE plans on expanding its reach to cover all seven emirates, to expand its reach, by expanding its flagship company, calling its "Company Program MEGA". The goal is to have youth with entrepreneurship skills/aims compete on an emirate level, to then move to the national and regional level.
* Ambassador Nabila Makram Abdel-Shaheed, Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs, visited the headquarters of "Swivel" in the UAE. "Swivel" is an Egyptian owned and run company that has been ranked as one of the top in the region. The Ambassador praised the co-founder and CEO Mustafa Kandill for representing Egypt abroad, as well as the staff that proved Egypt's capabilities to the world.

* لا تزال البطالة تطارد أكراد العراق في إقليم كردستان شبه المستقل. يواجه الشباب العراقي أحد خيارين، البطالة والفساد أو الهجرة غير الشرعية التي تأتي مع مخاطرها العديدة. اندلعت احتجاجات في مختلف مدن كردستان، بعد أن قوبلت بالغاز المسيل للدموع والهراوات، مطالبة بإعادة رواتب الطلاب التي توقفت في عام 2014. كما اشتكى الطلاب من المحسوبية والتسلل السياسي في المؤسسات التعليمية.
* برنامج "فرص" الذي أنشأه صاحب السمو الملكي الشيخ ناصر بن حمد آل خليفة ممثل جلالة الملك للأعمال الإنسانية وشؤون الشباب، لتزويد الشباب البحريني بالمهارات العملية اللازمة للقوى العاملة. يتعاون البرنامج مع أكثر من 10 منظمات دولية ويقدم التدريب في المنظمات المذكورة لمنح الشباب دفعة في مساعي التوظيف الخاصة بهم. وكانت أحدث شركة انضمت إليها شركة يوكوجاوا وقد استضافت 10 متدربات شابات.
* كشف المرصد الوطني للتنمية البشرية، وهو مؤسسة حكومية مغربية، بالتعاون مع صندوق الأمم المتحدة للتنمية، عن أرقام مسح 2020 الذي شمل حوالي 9 ملايين شاب مغربي، أي ما يعادل 25.3٪ من مجموع السكان. وكشف الاستطلاع عن أرقام مقلقة حيث أعرب 7 من كل 10 أعضاء من مجموعة الشباب عن اهتمامهم بالهجرة وقالوا إنهم سيكونون أكثر سعادة إذا غادروا المغرب. وكشف الاستطلاع أيضا أن 2.3 شاب بدون تعليم وبدون عمل.
* افتتحت اورانج بالتعاون مع منظمة التنمية الألمانية مركزها الرقمي الثامن في المنطقة في عمان في الأردن، والذي يتضمن مدرسة تضامنية للبرمجة "فاب لاب" - إحدى ورش التصنيع الرقمية لمؤسسة اورانج، واوانج فاب "بيغ من اورانج" وهي المؤسسة الحاضنة للأعمال، وذلك بدعم من صندوق الاستثمار "اوانج فينتشرز افريقيا". ومن المخطط افتتاح مركزين آخرين أحدهما في الزرقاء والآخر بالتعاون مع الجامعة الألمانية الأردنية. الهدف من هذه المراكز هو تحسين قابلية الشباب للتوظيف بطريقة مستدامة.
* تم الإعلان عن الفائزين في النسخة الخامسة من مسابقة هواوي لقطاع تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات – الشرق الأوسط، السنوية في قطر. وشارك 105 طالبًا وطالبة من خمس جامعات قطرية مختلفة في هذه المسابقة التي أقامتها هواوي بالتعاون مع وزارة التعليم والتعليم العالي. سينتقل الفائزون الآن لتمثيل قطر في المسابقة الإقليمية.
* تخطط إنجاز الإمارات لتوسيع نطاق انتشارها ليشمل جميع الإمارات السبع، لتوسيع نطاقها، من خلال توسيع نطاق شركتها الرائدة، التي تطلق عليها اسم "برنامج الشركة ميجا". والهدف من ذلك هو جعل الشباب ذوي المهارات / الأهداف الريادية يتنافسون على مستوى الإمارة، ثم ينتقلون إلى المستوى الوطني والإقليمي.
* زارت السفيرة نبيلة مكرم عبد الشهيد وزيرة الدولة للهجرة وشؤون المغتربين المصريين، مقر شركة "سويفل" بدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة. " وهي شركة مصرية مملوكة ومدارة والتي تم تصنيفها كواحدة من أفضل الشركات في المنطقة. وأشادت الوزيرة بالمؤسس المشارك والرئيس التنفيذي مصطفى قنديل لتمثيل مصر في الخارج، وكذلك الموظفين الذين أثبتوا قدرات مصر للعالم.
Conflict
* Suicide rates have increased in both Lebanon and Syria. In Lebanon, people aged 17 to 34 have been cited as the most with the inclination to commit suicide in the past two years. The charitable organization “Embrace” has established a "Life Line" is the first suicide hotline in the region. The Life Line is staffed by specialists and psychologists who revealed that the number of callers has more than tripled in the past two years due to the economic and political crisis in the country. Similarly in Syria where the number of suicides crossed 150 due to circumstances created by the war, this number has decreased though, but no real reason was given for why.
* 23-year-old commits suicide by jumping out of the 7th story of his building due to the harsh living conditions caused by the economic and political crisis. In his pocket was a letter to his father asking for forgiveness because "dying once was better than continuously dying".
* Ten human rights organizations are calling for the release of Ahmed Douma, one of the founders of the Revolutionary Youth Coalition. Douma was served a life sentence and fined upwards of one million dollars in what human right bodies stated was an unfair trial.
* Palestinian youth injured in Beita, south of Nablus, in the West Bank after fighting broke out between the Palestinian youth from the city and occupation forces.
* Dozens of settlers invaded al-Aqsa mosque, and due to objections, the occupation forces ordered a two-week ban for 4 Jerusalem Palestinians, after arresting them, along with others.
النزاعات
* ارتفعت معدلات الانتحار في كل من لبنان وسوريا. ففي لبنان، يعد بالأشخاص الذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين 17 و 34 عامًا على أنهم الأكثر ميلًا للانتحار في العامين الماضيين. وأنشأت منظمة "امبرايس" الخيرية "خط الحياة" وهو أول خط ساخن للتحدث مع الأشخاص الذين يفكرون بالانتحار في المنطقة. يعمل في "خط الحياة" متخصصون وعلماء نفس كشفوا أن عدد المتصلين قد تضاعف أكثر من ثلاثة أضعاف في العامين الماضيين بسبب الأزمة الاقتصادية والسياسية في البلاد. وبالمثل في سوريا حيث تجاوز عدد حالات الانتحار 150 بسبب الظروف التي خلقتها الحرب، إلا أن هذا العدد قد انخفض، ولكن لم يتم إعطاء سبب حقيقي لذلك.
* قام شاب يبلغ من العمر 23 عاما بالانتحار بالقفز من الطابق السابع من مبناه بسبب الظروف المعيشية القاسية التي سببتها الأزمة الاقتصادية والسياسية. كان في جيبه رسالة إلى والده يطلب فيه المغفرة لأن "الموت مرة أفضل من الموت المستمر".
* تطالب عشر منظمات حقوقية الحكومة المصرية بالإفراج عن أحمد دوما أحد مؤسسي تحالف شباب الثورة. وتم الحكم على دوما بالسجن المؤبد وغرامة تصل إلى مليون دولار فيما وصفته هيئات حقوق الإنسان بمحاكمة غير عادلة.
* جرحى شبان فلسطينيون في بلدة بيتا جنوب نابلس بالضفة الغربية بعد اشتباكات بين الشبان الفلسطينيين من المدينة وقوات الاحتلال.
* اقتحم عشرات المستوطنين المسجد الأقصى، وبسبب الاعتراضات، أمرت قوات الاحتلال بمنع 4 فلسطينيين من القدس من اعتقالهم لمدة أسبوعين، بعد اعتقالهم مع آخرين.
Development
* Dozens of Egyptian youth participated in a simulation model organized by the Administrative Control Authority in coordination with Cairo University, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for the International Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption scheduled for next December.
* Instagram and Moroccan organization "Ibtisama Reda" launched an online campaign called "Click and Protect" to shed light on the increased cyberbullying and equip youth and teenagers with the tools necessary to combat this phenomenon. The campaign is coupled with help line for anyone involved, bully, bullied or witness, called "Stop Silence" to assist youth in the process of dealing with the incident.
* Half a million youth have registered for the World Youth Forum in its 4th edition, which is set to be held in January 2022. The 3rd edition hosted 15,000 from 160 countries, and the current registration for the 4th edition is at 500,000 from 196 countries.

* شارك العشرات من الشباب المصري في نموذج محاكاة نظمته هيئة الرقابة الإدارية بالتنسيق مع جامعة القاهرة والوكالة الأمريكية للتنمية الدولية ومكتب الأمم المتحدة المعنى بالمخدرات والجريمة للمؤتمر الدولي للدول الأطراف في اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة الفساد المقرر كانون أول / ديسمبر القادم.
* أطلقت إنستغرام ومنظمة "ابتسامة رضا" المغربية حملة على الإنترنت بعنوان "انقر واحمي" لتسليط الضوء على التنمر الإلكتروني المتزايد وتزويد الشباب والمراهقين بالأدوات اللازمة لمكافحة هذه الظاهرة. وتقترن الحملة بخط مساعدة لأي شخص متورط، أو متنمر، أو مضايق، أو شاهد عيان، وتدعى بـ"أوقفوا الصمت" لمساعدة الشباب في عملية التعامل مع الحادث.
* تم تسجيل نصف مليون شاب في منتدى شباب العالم في نسخته الرابعة، والتي من المقرر عقدها في يناير 2022. استضافت النسخة الثالثة 15000 من 160 دولة، والتسجيل الحالي للنسخة الرابعة هو 500000 من 196 دولة.

* First-year aviation students at the Amman Arab University paid a visit to the Middle East Aviation Academy to introduce them to the campus where they will later take part in practical training.
* The "Journey of the Union" initiative launched by the Al Bayt Mitwahid Association (ABM) at Expo Dubai honored talented students for their distinguished academic performances. During his speech at the initiative, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, stressed the importance of youth as the true wealth of the nation, builders of the future and ambassadors of UAE, embodying the values of the nation.
* First Moroccan autistic man to earn his PhD in Morocco. Karim Ben Abdelsalam, from Rabat, had specialized in monotheistic religions at Mohammed V University in Rabat.

* قام طلاب السنة الأولى في مجال الطيران في جامعة عمان العربية بزيارة إلى أكاديمية طيران الشرق الأوسط لتعريفهم بالحرم الجامعي حيث سيشاركون لاحقًا في التدريب العملي.
* كرمت مبادرة "رحلة الاتحاد" التي أطلقتها جمعية البيت المتوحد في إكسبو دبي الطلاب الموهوبين على أدائهم الأكاديمي المتميز. وأكد الشيخ نهيان بن مبارك آل نهيان، وزير التسامح والتعايش، خلال كلمته بالمبادرة، على أهمية الشباب باعتبارهم الثروة الحقيقية للوطن، وبناة المستقبل، وسفراء الإمارات، وتحديدا لأنهم يجسدون قيم الدولة.
* أول مغربي مصاب بالتوحد يحصل على الدكتوراه في المغرب. الشاب كريم بن عبد السلام من الرباط كان قد تخصص في العقيدة والأديان السماوية بكلية الآداب والعلوم الإنسانية بجامعة محمد الخامس بالرباط.

Politics and Political Engagement
* On Wednesday, the Jordanian Ministry of political and Parliamentary Affairs, in collaboration with UN Women, held a panel discussion on the outcomes of the royal commission to modernize the political system, the criteria for empowering women and enhancing their participation at the Al Hussein Youth Camp in the Ajloun governorate. Lina Aloul, a member of the Youth Empowerment Committee of the royal commission for the modernization of the political system, explained the importance of giving young people the opportunity to be members of the royal commission and to participate in national dialogues that contribute to the development of political life.
* The Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights reported that almost 70% of the Arab youth have no knowledge of the dangers of nuclear and chemical weapons after conducting polls in the region. The Foundation added that the MENA region is the most affected by the proliferation of weapons in the hands of irregular forces and the exploitation of children in this conflict as fighters, especially in Yemen and Syria, leading to an increase in the numbers of fighters.

* عقدت وزارة الشؤون السياسية والبرلمانية الأردنية، يوم الأربعاء السابق، بالتعاون مع هيئة الأمم المتحدة للمرأة حلقة نقاشيةحول مخرجات الهيئة الملكية لتحديث المنظومة السياسية ومعايير تمكين المرأة وتعزيز مشاركتها في الحياة العامة، والتي عقدت في مخيم شباب الحسين في محافظة عجلون. وأوضحت لينا العالول، عضو لجنة تمكين الشباب بالهيئة الملكية لتحديث المنظومة السياسية، أهمية إعطاء الشباب الفرصة ليكونوا أعضاء في الهيئة الملكية والمشاركة في الحوارات الوطنية التي تساهم في تطوير الحياة السياسية.
* أفادت مؤسسة ماعت للسلام والتنمية وحقوق الإنسان أن ما يقرب من 70٪ من الشباب العربي ليس لديهم معرفة بمخاطر الأسلحة النووية والكيميائية بعد إجراء استطلاعات الرأي في المنطقة. وأضافت المؤسسة أن منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا هي الأكثر تضررا من انتشار الأسلحة في أيدي القوات غير النظامية واستغلال الأطفال في هذا الصراع كمقاتلين، خاصة في اليمن وسوريا، مما أدى إلى زيادة أعداد المقاتلين.
Economics and Entrepreneurship
* The World Creative Economy Conference, held at Dubai Expo 2020 under the theme "Integrated creativity: making the future", ran until December 9th. It is part of a series of conferences organized by the Emirati Ministry of Culture and Youth. Its goal is to share knowledge and ideas and discuss the challenges facing the creative economy, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The conference aims to increase efforts in formulating policies for the creative economy.
* Modern financial technologies, or fintech, is a viable option for an Arab youth struggling with economic hardships. These technologies allow youth to manage their savings and investment expenses. Mayar Akrama, a management consultant, describes an online app that calculates the user's savings and offers them different ways to invest their money. This is essential to help increase financial literacy of the youth in the region, which is relatively low.
* According to a recent study led by the National Human Development Observatory, 70% of Moroccan youth stated that they would be happier if they lived abroad, the highest rate in the Arab world. This can be linked to the high rates of unemployment: while the overall rate of unemployment is that of 12%, that of the youth is 31%.
* "Jordan Source" is a new government effort, meant to encourage new investments into Jordan's digital outsourcing economy. Over the past few years, the information and communication technology (ICT) sector has become a key sector contributing to growth in Jordan. This initiative, launched as part of the Jordanian government's youth technology and jobs programme, is set to create jobs for digital talents, further boosting the ICT sector in the country.
* The Irbid branch of the All Jordan Youth Committee announced on Thursday that they would host a series of training courses in cooperation with the Ministry of digital economy. These courses are meant to help prepare the youth for integrating the job market.
* This week, Google.org announced that it would give grants to 3 non-profit organizations in the MENA region: Helm, IDARE for Sustainable Development and SPARK. These grants will allow these organizations to help the youth find employment, by acquiring digital skills and promoting entrepreneurship in the region.
الاقتصاد وريادة الأعمال
* استمر المؤتمر العالمي للاقتصاد الإبداعي، الذي عقد في إكسبو دبي 2020 تحت شعار "الإبداع المتكامل: صنع المستقبل"، والذي اختتم في 9 من كانون أول / ديسمبر. وكان هذا جزءا من سلسلة المؤتمرات التي تنظمها وزارة الثقافة والشباب الإماراتية، والتي تهدف إلى تبادل المعرفة والأفكار ومناقشة التحديات التي تواجه الاقتصاد الإبداعي، لا سيما في سياق جائحة فايروس كورونا. ويهدف المؤتمر إلى تكثيف الجهود في صياغة سياسات الاقتصاد الإبداعي.
* تعتبر التقنيات المالية الحديثة خيارًا قابلاً للتطبيق بالنسبة للشباب العربي الذي يعاني المصاعب الاقتصادية. وتتيح هذه التقنيات للشباب إدارة مدخراتهم ونفقاتهم الاستثمارية. وتصف ميار عكرمة، مستشارة إدارية، تطبيقًا عبر الإنترنت يحسب مدخرات المستخدم ويقدم لهم طرقًا مختلفة لاستثمار أموالهم. وهذا ضروري للمساعدة في زيادة المعرفة المالية للشباب في المنطقة، والتي تعد منخفضة نسبيًا.
* وفقًا لدراسة حديثة بقيادة المرصد الوطني للتنمية البشرية، صرح 70٪ من الشباب المغربي بأنهم سيكونون أكثر سعادة إذا عاشوا في الخارج، وهي أعلى نسبة في العالم العربي. ويمكن ربط ذلك بارتفاع معدلات البطالة: فبينما يبلغ المعدل الإجمالي للبطالة 12٪، يبلغ معدل البطالة بين الشباب 31٪.
* "المصدر الأردني" هو مشروع حكومي جديد يهدف إلى تشجيع الاستثمارات الجديدة في اقتصاد التعهيد الرقمي الأردني. وعلى مدى السنوات القليلة الماضية، أصبح قطاع تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات قطاعًا رئيسيًا يساهم في النمو في الأردن. وتهدف هذه المبادرة، التي تم إطلاقها كجزء من برنامج الحكومة الأردنية لتكنولوجيا وفرص العمل للشباب، إلى خلق فرص عملللمواهب الرقمية، وتعزيز قطاع تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات في البلاد.
* أعلنت لجنة شباب كلنا الأردن، فرع إربد يوم الخميس أنها سيستضيف سلسلة من الدورات التدريبية بالتعاون مع وزارة الاقتصاد الرقمي. وتهدف هذه الدورات إلى المساعدة في إعداد الشباب وتمكينهم لدمجهم في سوق العمل.
* أعلنت "جوجل دوت أورغ" هذا الأسبوع أنها ستقدم منحًا لثلاث منظمات غير ربحية في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا: وهي "هيلم" و "آيدير للتنمية المستدامة" و "سبارك". وستسمح هذه المنح لهذه المنظمات بمساعدة الشباب في العثور على عمل، وذلك من خلال اكتساب المهارات الرقمية وتعزيز ريادة الأعمال في المنطقة.
Conflict
* Israeli occupation forces have renewed the administrative detention of Ramzi Mohammed Al-harimi, a resident of Bethlehem, for the fifth time in a row for six months. Further, Military Court approved the renewal decision issued by the intelligence service based on the secret file, which prohibits the prisoner and his lawyer from viewing the materials contained therein on the pretext of preserving the sources of information contained in the file, but the representative of the military prosecution merely stated that Al-Harimi poses a threat to the security.
* "This is a burning revolution and young people have decided to finally break out of the occupation," Hamas said in response to Monday's stampede near a checkpoint in Tulkarem. According to the statement, "Palestinian youth will continue to innovate in resistance until the end of this colonization of all Palestinian land". This statement follows the death of a young Palestinian man, who was shot dead after allegedly ramming his car into another vehicle at the checkpoint.
* The UN Human Rights Office has stated on Saturday night that it was "shocked" by the "extra-judicial" killing of a young Palestinian named Mohammad Salimah by Israeli border police. According to a statement on the Office's Facebook page, the killing was "extra-judicial" and that the Office "is monitoring the case further"
* Following a military coup on October 25th in Sudan, a radio station run by the youth named 96.0 FM has been silenced. According to Khaled Yehia, the production manager, he "felt like a person who had the ability to speak and suddenly stopped... It's a painful feeling." This station is not the only one to have been silenced by the military, as the Information Ministry has also banned BBC’s Arabic service in the country as well as that of Monte Carlo radio's Arabic service.
* In Morocco, many young lawyers have highlighted violations committed by the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration and their treatment of lawyers. They have expressed discontent, stating that they have not been able to communicate with protestors who had been arrested. They have organized a protest planned for January 14th, 2022.
النزاعات
* جددت قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي الاعتقال الإداري للمواطن الفلسطيني رمزي محمد الحريمي، من سكان بيت لحم، وذلك للمرة الخامسة على التوالي منذ ستة أشهر. وكانت المحكمة العسكرية في عوفر قد وافقت على قرار التجديد الصادر عن جهاز المخابرات بناء على الملف السري، والذي يمنع السجين ومحاميه من الاطلاع على المواد الواردة فيه بحجة الحفاظ على مصادر المعلومات الواردة في الملف السري. ولكن ممثل النيابة العسكرية اكتفى بالقول إن الحريمي يشكل خطرا على الأمن.
* قالت حماس ردا على التدافع يوم الاثنين قرب حاجز في طولكرم "هذه ثورة مشتعلة والشبان قرروا الخروج نهائيا من الاحتلال". وبحسب البيان، فإن "الشباب الفلسطيني سيواصل الابتكار في المقاومة حتى نهاية هذا الاستعمار لكافة الأراضي الفلسطينية". ويأتي هذا التصريح في أعقاب مقتل شاب فلسطيني برصاصة بعد أن صدمت سيارته سيارة أخرى عند الحاجز.
* ذكر مكتب حقوق الإنسان التابع للأمم المتحدة مساء السبت الماضي أنه "صُدم" بقتل "خارج نطاق القضاء" لشاب فلسطيني يدعى محمد سليمة على يد شرطة الحدود الإسرائيلية. وبحسب بيان على صفحة المكتب على فيسبوك، فإن القتل كان "خارج نطاق القضاء" وأن المكتب "يتابع القضية بشكل أكبر".
* في أعقاب الانقلاب العسكري في 25 تشرين الأول (أكتوبر) الماضي في السودان، تم إسكات محطة إذاعية يديرها الشباب تدعى 96.0 إف إم. وبحسب خالد يحيى، مدير الإنتاج، "شعر وكأننا شخص كان لديه القدرة على الكلام وتوقف فجأة ... إنه شعور مؤلم". هذه المحطة ليست الوحيدة التي تم إسكاتها من قبل الجيش، حيث حظرت وزارة الإعلام أيضًا خدمة بي بي سي العربية في البلاد بالإضافة إلى خدمة راديو مونت كارلو باللغة العربية.
* في المغرب، سلط العديد من المحامين الشباب الضوء على الانتهاكات التي ارتكبتها المندوبية العامة لإدارة السجون وإعادة الإدماج ومعاملة المحامين. وقد أعربوا عن استيائهم، قائلين إنهم لم يتمكنوا من التواصل مع المتظاهرين الذين تم اعتقالهم. وأعلنوا أنهم قد نظموا مظاهرة مخطط لها في 14 كانون ثاني / يناير 2022.
Development
* According to Iman Al-Shaarawi, a researcher specialized in African Affairs, the concept of civil society is one of the most controversial in Africa. She explains that the lack of financial resources as well as hostile legal structures have held back the establishment of effective civil society. She states that the existence of a real civil society, independent from the state is important to reach integration at national, regional, and continental levels.
* During his speech at the Arab media Youth Forum at Cairo University on Sunday, the assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, emphasized the vital role of youth as an influential force in achieving the sustainable development of the Arab region, stating that development can be reached by mobilizing the energies of the youth and fully integrating them to the economy.
* Dr Jibril Fateh, the assistant governor of South Sinai in Egypt, has stated that the World Youth Forum will be held in Sharm el-Sheikh. He explained that the next Forum will raise topics such as climate change, the COVID-19 pandemic, how it affected the whole world, and the mechanisms that can be followed to counter these crises. The Forum will also deal with the digital transformation that is taking place recently at a local level.
* The parliament and civil education department of the Egyptian governorate of Dakahlia held a parliamentary session on Thursday, in cooperation with the Tamm Al-Umaid Youth Administration. The session dealt with several issues, notably the lack of education and health services, as well as the need for a youth center in the city of Tamm al-Umaid.
* Amr Othman, the Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity, announced that 32000 volunteers helped carry out activities at 120 public and community universities with the objective of educating people on the dangers of drug abuse. These interventions were also meant to deconstruct the misconceptions people have about drug abuse.
* Dr. Ahlam al-Abadi, the youth director of the Jordanian governorate of Al-Balqa opened a training course entitled "Digital Skills for youth and the establishment of websites" at Al-Salt Youth Center, which lasts for five days. Dr. Al-Abadi stated, "in the youth Directorate, we seek to provide programs and initiatives with youth ideas as they have distinctive results on the youth movement in the governorate."
التنمية
* وفقا لإيمان الشعراوي، الباحثة المتخصصة في الشؤون الإفريقية، فإن مفهوم المجتمع المدني من أكثر المفاهيم إثارة للجدل في إفريقيا. وأوضحت أن الافتقار إلى الموارد المالية فضلاً عن الهياكل القانونية المعادية أعاقت إنشاء مجتمع مدني فعال. وتقول إن وجود مجتمع مدني حقيقي مستقل عن الدولة مهم للوصول إلى التكامل على المستويات الوطنية والإقليمية والقارية.
* أكد الأمين العام المساعد لجامعة الدول العربية، أحمد راشد الخطابي، خلال كلمته في منتدى شباب الإعلام العربي بجامعة القاهرة، يوم الأحد، على الدور الحيوي للشباب كقوة مؤثرة في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة للمنطقة العربية، قائلا أن التنمية يمكن تحقيقها من خلال حشد طاقات الشباب ودمجهم بشكل كامل في الاقتصاد.
* أعلن الدكتور جبريل فاتح مساعد محافظ جنوب سيناء في مصر، أن منتدى شباب العالم سيعقد في شرم الشيخ. وأوضح أن المنتدى المقبل سيطرح مواضيع مثل تغير المناخ، جائحة فايروس كورونا، وكيف أثرت على العالم كله، والآليات التي يمكن اتباعها لمواجهة هذه الأزمات. كما سيتعامل المنتدى مع التحول الرقمي الذي يحدث مؤخرًا على المستوى المحلي.
* عقد مجلس النواب ودائرة التربية المدنية بمحافظة الدقهلية المصرية، يوم الخميس الماضي، جلسة برلمانية بالتعاون مع إدارة شباب تمى الأمديد. وتناولت الجلسة عدة قضايا أبرزها نقص التعليم والخدمات الصحية، وكذلك الحاجة إلى مركز شبابي في مدينة تمى الأمديد.
* أعلن عمرو عثمان وزير التضامن الاجتماعي المصري أن 32 ألف متطوع ساعدوا في تنفيذ أنشطة في 120 جامعة حكومية وأهلية بهدف توعية الناس بمخاطر تعاطي المخدرات. كانت هذه النشاطات تهدف أيضًا إلى تفكيك المفاهيم الخاطئة لدى الناس حول تعاطي المخدرات.
* افتتحت الدكتورة أحلام العبادي مديرة شباب محافظة البلقاء الأردنية، دورة تدريبية بعنوان "المهارات الرقمية للشباب وإنشاء المواقع الإلكترونية" في مركز شباب السلط، والتي تستمر لمدة خمسة أيام. وأوضحن الدكتورة العبادي "في مديرية الشباب نسعى لتقديم البرامج والمبادرات بأفكار الشباب لما لها من نتائج مميزة على الحركة الشبابية في المحافظة".

* Between December 7th and 9th, the 10th World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) was held in Doha, under the banner "Generation Unmute: Reclaiming our Future Through Education". One of the sessions addressed the gap between education and employment among youth in the MENA region, which has one of the highest unemployment rates in the world. Other sessions dealt with the treatment of refugees in the region, as well as how to integrate a new form of post-pandemic education in the region.
* The Second World Forum on higher education and scientific research (vision of the future), organized by the Egyptian Ministry of higher education and scientific research, was held between December 8th and 10th in the new administrative capital, under the patronage and honor of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. One of the sessions, entitled "Youth are game changers", focused on how the youth must maintain certain skills to meet the expectations of the labor market, as well as trying to harmonize educational outcomes with the requirements of the labor market. Abdulrahman Badawi, director of Public Relations at the Arab youth platform at the League of Arab states, spoke about the disappearance of many jobs considering technological changes and digital transformation, pointing out that in 25 years, 45% of current jobs will disappear, and called on young people to rearrange their priorities and develop their skills to keep pace with the labor market.

* بين 7 و9 من كانون أول / ديسمبر، انعقدت القمة العالمية العاشرة للابتكار في التعليم في الدوحة تحت شعار "جيل لديه صوت: استعادة مستقبلنا من خلال التعليم". تناولت إحدى الجلسات الفجوة بين التعليم والتوظيف بين الشباب في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا، التي بها أحد أعلى معدلات البطالة في العالم. وتناولت الجلسات الأخرى علاج اللاجئين في المنطقة، فضلاً عن كيفية دمج شكل جديد من التعليم في مرحلة ما بعد الجائحة في المنطقة.
* عقد المنتدى العالمي الثاني للتعليم العالي والبحث العلمي (رؤية المستقبل)، الذي نظمته وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي المصرية، في الفترة ما بين 8 و 10 من كانون أول / ديسمبر في العاصمة الإدارية الجديدة، تحت رعاية وتكريم الرئيس عبد فتاح السيسي. وركزت إحدى الجلسات، التي حملت عنوان "الشباب يغيرون قواعد اللعبة"، على كيفية احتفاظ الشباب بمهارات معينة لتلبية توقعات سوق العمل، فضلاً عن محاولة مواءمة المخرجات التعليمية مع متطلبات سوق العمل. كما تحدث عبد الرحمن بدوي، مدير العلاقات العامة بمنصة الشباب العربي بجامعة الدول العربية، عن اختفاء العديد من الوظائف بالنظر إلى التغيرات التكنولوجية والتحول الرقمي، لافتًا إلى أنه في غضون 25 عامًا ستختفي 45٪ من الوظائف الحالية، ودعا على الشباب إعادة ترتيب أولوياتهم وتطوير مهاراتهم لمواكبة سوق العمل.
Environment
* On Tuesday, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority's (DEWA) Innovation Center concluded it's "Cleantech Youth Program", meant to help educate the youth on clean and renewable energy, as well as enhance their entrepreneurship and technical skills in the sector. 25 youth leaders from the UAE graduated from this program and have presented the projects they worked on over the course of the program.
* According to Carlos Duarte, Professor at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, the youth is the solution to climate change. He stated that it is important to empower the youth, to allow them to build the future they want. He explains that since the younger generations are the ones who will be living longer on this planet, they are the ones who should set the parameters when it comes to dealing with climate change.
* As part of the Green University initiative, the Egyptian Ministry of environment organized a seminar at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Helwan University, on the importance of waste recycling for several professors, auxiliary bodies and students in preparation for the establishment of the Waste Management Unit at the University. Dr. Yasmine Fouad, the Minister of Environment, stressed the role of students in preserving the surrounding environment and raising awareness in the community.

* اختتم مركز الابتكار التابع لهيئة كهرباء ومياه دبي (ديوا)، يوم الثلاثاء الماضي، "برنامج التكنولوجيا النظيفة للشباب"، الذي يهدف إلى تثقيف الشباب حول الطاقة النظيفة والمتجددة، فضلاً عن تعزيز ريادة الأعمال والمهارات الفنية في هذا القطاع. وتخرج 25 من قادة الشباب من الإمارات العربية المتحدة من هذا البرنامج وقدموا المشاريع التي عملوا عليها خلال البرنامج.
* وفقًا لكارلوس دوارتي، الأستاذ في جامعة الملك عبد الله للعلوم والتكنولوجيا، فإن الشباب هم الحل لمشكلة تغير المناخ. وذكر أنه من المهم تمكين الشباب للسماح لهم ببناء المستقبل الذي يريدونه. ويوضح دوارتي أنه نظرًا لأن الأجيال الشابة هي التي ستعيش لفترة أطول على هذا الكوكب، فإنهم هم الذين يجب أن يضعوا المعايير عندما يتعلق الأمر بالتعامل مع تغير المناخ.
* في إطار مبادرة الجامعة الخضراء، نظمت وزارة البيئة المصرية ندوة بكلية الصيدلة بجامعة حلوان حول أهمية إعادة تدوير المخلفات لعدد من الأساتذة والهيئات المعاونة والطلاب تمهيداً لإنشاء وحدة إدارة النفايات في جامعة حلوان. الجامعة. وشددت الدكتورة ياسمين فؤاد وزيرة البيئة على دور الطلاب في الحفاظ على البيئة المحيطة وزيادة الوعي في المجتمع.
COVID-19
* Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Commissioner General of Expo 2020 Dubai, and Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, attended the opening of the Gulf Youth Forum hosted by the Arab Youth Center and the Federal Youth Foundation under the slogan “Our youth is one, our vision is one” at the youth pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and the ministries of youth and sports in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The Forum discussed the trends and vision of youth in the post-Corona pandemic, with the participation of official delegations from the Arab Gulf countries and speakers who shed light on issues of concern to youth in the Gulf region.

* حضر افتتاح معرض شباب الخليج الشيخ نهيان بن مبارك آل نهيان وزير التسامح والتعايش المفوض العام لإكسبو 2020 دبي والدكتور نايف الحجرف الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية منتدى شباب الخليج الذي يستضيفه مركز الشباب العربي والمؤسسة الاتحادية للشباب تحت شعار "شبابنا واحد، رؤيتنا واحد" بجناح الشباب في إكسبو 2020 دبي، وذلك بالتعاون مع الأمانة العامة لمجلس التعاون الخليجي، ووزارات الشباب والرياضة في دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي. وناقش المنتدى اتجاهات الشباب ورؤيتهم في مواجهة جائحة كورونا، بمشاركة وفود رسمية من دول الخليج العربي ومتحدثين ألقوا الضوء على القضايا التي تهم الشباب في منطقة الخليج.

Politics and Political Engagement
* The Tunisian General Student Union announced that it is keeping tracking of the case of Ali Saidi, who was arrested due to posts made on his Facebook account and awaiting trial on the 8th of December. The Union reiterated its support for government institutions and its total trust in the judicial institution as a guarantee of human rights and freedoms. The union denounced the arrest as a violation of human rights and individual and public freedom. The union again stated its support for all those suffering from persecution due to their practicing of freedom of expression, calling all its supporters to a protest on the 8th of December in support of Saidi in front of the preliminary court at the time of his trial.
* The Progressive Youth Organization held a march under the title "Your Duty to Gather" amid tight security arrangements. The protestors raised the Lebanese flag along with the flag of the Progressive Socialist Party and the Progressive Youth Organization. The secretary general of the organizations stated that on the 14th of October, the youth organization's march from Mouseitbeh to Martyr's Square launched people's demands. He added that the main reason for the march is to protest the continued governmental block and calling for the government to convene and play its part, in light of current circumstances.
* Over 90% of youth in Libya have gotten their voter registration cards as the Libyan elections loom closer. The number is the same in Ghat, where 4 of the 27 nominees are below the age of 40, with two of them being women.

* أعلن الاتحاد العام التونسي للطلبة، عن استمراره في متابعة قضية علي السعيدي، الذي اعتقل بسبب منشورات على حسابه على فيسبوك، وينتظر المحاكمة في 8 من كانون أول / ديسمبر. وجدد الاتحاد دعمه للمؤسسات الحكومية وثقته الكاملة في المؤسسة القضائية كضمان لحقوق الإنسان والحريات. وندد الاتحاد بالاعتقال ووصفه بانتهاك حقوق الانسان والحريات الفردية والعامة. وأبدى الاتحاد مجدداً دعمه لكل من يعانون من الاضطهاد بسبب ممارستهم لحرية التعبير، داعيا جميع أنصاره إلى وقفة احتجاجية في الثامن من كانون الأول / ديسمبر لدعم السعيدي أمام المحكمة الابتدائية خلال وقت محاكمته.
* نظمت منظمة الشباب التقدمية مسيرة تحت عنوان " واجبكم تجتمعوا" وسط ترتيبات أمنية مشددة. ورفع المتظاهرون العلم اللبناني وعلم الحزب التقدمي الاشتراكي ومنظمة الشباب التقدمي. وأوضح أمين عام المنظمات أن مسيرة التنظيم الشبابي من المصيطبة إلى ساحة الشهداء يوم 14 تشرين أول / أكتوبر أطلقت مطالب شعبية. وأضاف أن السبب الرئيسي للمسيرة هو الاحتجاج على استمرار التكتل الحكومي ودعوة الحكومة للانعقاد والقيام بدورها في ظل الظروف الحالية.
* حصل أكثر من 90٪ من الشباب في ليبيا على بطاقات تسجيل الناخبين مع اقتراب موعد الانتخابات الليبية. وهذا الرقم هو نفسه في غات، حيث تقل أعمار 4 من 27 مرشحًا عن 40 عاما، من بينهم امرأتان.
Economics and Entrepreneurship
* As part of Microsoft's initiative to help 25 million acquire digital skills needed, Microsoft and Injaz Al-Arab announced a partnership to empower 200,000 North Africans. The aim of the initiative is to teach youth the needed digital skills to raise their chances of employment. The project will target children as young as middle school and covering post-graduates and female-led start-ups, age range 12-24. The initiative will be applied in Egypt, Sudan, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Mauritania, and Libya.
* There are over 21,000 startups across the Middle East, employing thousands of people. Careem, a ride sharing app, has employed 3,500 people, has also employed over 850,000 drivers. Start-ups have allowed youth to experience hands-on employment as well as give some the ability to own their work. While over 60% of people in the region favor corporate and government work, start-ups are shaping to be the new future of employment in the Middle East.
* In partnership with the World bank, the Jordanian Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship held a webinar titled “Jordan’s Qualified IT Talents: Your Winning Card Against Your Competitors.” During the webinar, the Ministry launched Jordan Source Program to facilitate new investments into the country’s digital outsourcing economy. It is worth noting that 27% of MENA’s tech entrepreneurs are Jordanians.
* Hussein Sabri al-Bakbashi, Advisor to the Egyptian Minister of Manpower for Information and Digital Transformation, stated that an initiative with five international corporations is in the works to provide graduates with 100,000 job opportunities. Currently, there are interviews to pick out those who have completed the program to act as instructors for fresh graduates who will join this program. However, it has been pointed out that those who complete this program have a competitive advantage in the job market.
* The Minister of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs reiterated the commitment by the ministry and the Egyptian-German Center for Employment, Migration and Reintegration, to fight illegal immigration by providing youth employment opportunities abroad as well as locally, through legal methods, and assisting them in integrated in foreign environments and cultures. The center also helps returning immigrants reintegrate socially and economically in Egyptian society. Ambassador Nabila Makram stated that Egypt has been successfully dealing with the illegal immigration phenomenon that many countries are dealing with now-a-days.
* Dr. Mamdouh Ghrab, mayor of the Sharqiya governate, announced that the national project for social and human and local development labelled "Mashrou'ak" gave loans worth 2,704,747 Egyptian pounds to 17,038 projects to provide 51,254 direct and indirect job opportunities for the governate's youth. Ghrab also said that the Mashrou'ak project aids in ending the unemployment problem and provides youth with a decent life. He emphasized the governate’s assistance in creating easier loans for youth and attempting to remove obstacles or easing them and oiling the governate's wheel of development.
* The Tunisian minister of economy and planning, Samir Said, stated on Friday, December 3rd, that Tunisian youth should not focus on public jobs, but rather switch to private initiatives and creation of fortune, as that is the future of the youth. He stated that the government will support and guide youth towards success, and asked youth not to fear the challenge of start-ups and wealth creation, as they will be supported by the state.
* Zain Bahrain trained 95 Bahraini youth in different departments as part of the Zain Youth Empowerment (ZY) Program aimed at exposing Bahraini youth to employment and empower youth with skills needed for the competitive workforce.
* The closing ceremony of the first edition of the “Tech Expo Youth Technology and Innovation” project was organized by the Muharraq Youth Model Center in Bahrain. The “Tech Expo” program serves youth in the field of technology and innovation and looks to create a creative environment for them, as it supports them to promote their ideas and projects. As such, youth can exchange successful experiences among themselves and acquire more skills that help them develop their technological innovations.
الاقتصاد وريادة الأعمال
* كجزء من مبادرة مايكروسوفت لمساعدة 25 مليون شخص على اكتساب المهارات الرقمية المطلوبة، أعلنت مايكروسوفت وإنجاز العرب عن شراكة لتمكين 200000 شمال أفريقي. الهدف من المبادرة هو تعليم الشباب المهارات الرقمية اللازمة لزيادة فرصهم في العمل. وسيستهدف المشروع الأطفال في سن صغيرة مثل المرحلة الإعدادية ويغطي الخريجين والشركات الناشئة التي تقودها النساء، من سن 12-24. وستطبق المبادرة في مصر، والسودان، والجزائر، وتونس، والمغرب، وموريتانيا، وليبيا.

* صرح حسين صبري البكباشي، مستشار وزير القوى العاملة المصري للمعلومات والتحول الرقمي، أنه يجري العمل على مبادرةمع خمس مؤسسات دولية لتوفير 100000 فرصة عمل للخريجين. وهناك حاليا مقابلات لاختيار مجموعة من الذين أكملوا البرنامج والذين سيعملون كمدربين للخريجين الجدد الذين ينضمون إلى هذا البرنامج. ومع ذلك، فقد تمت الإشارة إلى أن أولئك الذين يكملون هذا البرنامج لديهم ميزة تنافسية في سوق العمل.

* أعلن الدكتور ممدوح غراب رئيس بلدية محافظة الشرقية في مصر أن المشروع القومي للتنمية الاجتماعية والبشرية والمحلية المسمى "مشروعك" منح قروضاً بقيمة 2704747 جنيهاً مصرياً إلى 17،038 مشروعًا لتوفير 51254 فرصة عمل مباشرة وغير مباشرة لشباب المحافظة. وقال غراب أيضا إن "مشروعك" يساعد على إنهاء مشكلة البطالة ويوفر حياة كريمة للشباب. وأكد على مساعدة المحافظة في تسهيل القروض للشباب ومحاولة تذليل العقبات أو تخفيفها وتزييت عجلة التنمية في المحافظة.
* صرح وزير الاقتصاد والتخطيط التونسي، سمير سعيد، الجمعة 3 كانون أول / ديسمبر، بأنه لا يجب على الشباب التونسي التركيز على الوظائف العامة، بل التحول إلى المبادرات الخاصة وخلق الثروة، لأن هذا هو مستقبل الشباب. وذكر أن الحكومة ستدعم وتوجه الشباب نحو النجاح، وطالب الشباب بعدم الخوف من تحدي الشركات الناشئة وتكوين الثروات، حيث ستدعمهم الدولة.
* قامت زين البحرين بتدريب 95 شابًا بحرينيًا في إدارات مختلفة كجزء من برنامج زين لتمكين الشباب (ZY) الذي يهدف إلى تعريض الشباب البحريني للتوظيف وتمكين الشباب بالمهارات اللازمة للقوى العاملة التنافسية.
* نظم مركز المحرق للشباب النموذجي في البحرين الحفل الختامي للدورة الأولى لمشروع "تيك إكسبو الشبابي للتكنولوجيا والابتكار." ويخدم برنامج "تيك اكسبو" الشباب في مجال التكنولوجيا والابتكار ويتطلع إلى خلق بيئة إبداعية لهم، حيث يدعمهم في الترويج لأفكارهم ومشاريعهم. وعلى هذا النحو، يمكن البرنامج الشباب المشاركين من تبادل الخبرات الناجحة فيما بينهم واكتساب المزيد من المهارات التي تساعدهم على تطوير ابتكاراتهم التكنولوجية.
Conflict
* The Palestinian presidency said that the execution by the Israeli occupation of the young Palestinian man, Muhammad Salima (25 years), in occupied Jerusalem, comes in the context of the ongoing Israeli escalationagainst Palestine, and that the continuation of the daily series of killings that cannot be tolerated. The Palestinian presidency added - in a statement - that the killing of the wounded young man, Salima, is a documented war crime, calling on the international community to act immediately to stop the crimes of the occupation, provide protection for the Palestinian people, end the occupation, and establish an independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
* Israeli occupation forces launched a campaign of raids and searches in various areas of the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, arresting many Palestinians and confiscating agricultural equipment, near the Jordan Valley. The Prisoner's Club reported the arrest of 8 young men during raids in different areas of the West Bank. The report by Arab 48 adds that the occupation forces stormed Khirbet al-Ras al-Ahmar in the northern Jordan Valley and seized vehicles and agricultural equipment. The official in charge of the Jordan Valley file in Tubas governorate said that the occupation forces seized a number of vehicles, agricultural tractors, and water tanks. He added that the occupation soldiers stormed the houses of the citizens, searched them, and tampered with their belongings.
* One killed and one injured Palestinian youth by Israeli police in the city of Um Fahm, located in the occupied '48 territory. Israeli police aimed and shot at the vehicle with the two men inside accusing them of running over two police officers, leading to their injury, and the subsequent death of one.
* The frequency of kidnappings by the Transitional Council militias in Aden increased during last November, with several cases of illegal detention, torture and enforced disappearance. The council has been linked to these cases after many young people and children were found in prisons run by council members. President of the Human Rights Monitor stated the illegal arrests, torture and intimidation tactics used against youth and children increase with the lack of proper authority and judiciary.
* The Intelligence Division of the Rapid Support Forces in North Darfur, Sudan managed to arrest individuals using the name of a fictitious company and receiving large sums of money from citizens allegedly sending them to Saudi Arabia to work as cooks and administrators with the Arab Coalition Forces. The head of the Division said that about 100 young men fell victim to this organized criminal operation, as these young people paid large sums of money and sent passports and other official documents under the pretext of completing their procedures to be sent abroad for work.
* The Istanbul Public Prosecutor filed an indictment against 16 young suspects of belonging to a Mossad spy network in Turkey, as per a report by Arab 48 website. The report added that 15 of the suspects are Palestinians who were arrested over the past few months, while the last has not be arrested yet.
* VDL News published a report highlighting that drug addiction in Lebanon among youth is on the rise. The report states that the number of drug users in Lebanon increases year after year, and with it the numbers of promoters and dealers rose. There are no clear statistics about the number of drug users, but the Lebanese authorities publish almost daily news of arresting people who either trade and promote drugs or use them in various Lebanese regions.
* Middle East Eye published a report on December 4 illustrating the frustration of young Iranians over the nuclear talks and never-ending sanctions. Iranian youth interviewed, as part of the report, highlighted that their “entire life is about uranium, centrifuges, and nuclear plants” as Iranian youth saw their young years wasted on a never-ending issue. The report indicates that widespread support of Iran’s nuclear program is depleting among youth who are fed with living under sanctions.
* Child marriage on the rise in Iran as over 9,000 girls aged 10-14 were married last spring, and over 45,000 aged 15-19 were married around the same time. Iranian law allows for marriage of girls below the age of 13 with paternal and court consent, something which critics have stated has not been being applied by authorities.

* قالت الرئاسة الفلسطينية إن إعدام الاحتلال الإسرائيلي للشاب الفلسطيني محمد سليمة (25 عاما) في القدس المحتلة يأتي في سياق التصعيد الإسرائيلي المستمر ضد فلسطين، وأن استمرار مسلسل القتل اليومي لا يمكن التسامح معه. وأضافت الرئاسة الفلسطينية - في بيان لها - أن مقتل الشاب الجريح محمد سليمة هي جريمة حرب موثقة، داعية المجتمع الدولي للتحرك الفوري لوقف جرائم الاحتلال، وتوفير الحماية للشعب الفلسطيني، ووضع حد للاحتلال، الاحتلال وإقامة دولة مستقلة عاصمتها القدس الشرقية.
* شنت قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، حملة دهم وتفتيش في مناطق متفرقة من الضفة الغربية والقدس المحتلة، واعتقلت العديد من الفلسطينيين، وصادرت معدات زراعية قرب منطقة الأغوار. وأفاد نادي الأسير عن اعتقال 8 شبان خلال مداهمات في مناطق متفرقة بالضفة الغربية. ويضيف تقرير عرب 48 أن قوات الاحتلال اقتحمت خربة الرأس الأحمر في شمال الأغوار وصادرت آليات ومعدات زراعية. وقال المسؤول عن ملف الأغوار في محافظة طوباس، إن قوات الاحتلال استولت على عدد من الآليات والجرارات الزراعية وخزانات المياه. وأضاف المسؤول أن جنود الاحتلال اقتحموا منازل المواطنين وفتشوها وعبثوا بممتلكاتهم.
* قتيل وجرح شابين فلسطينيين على يد شرطة الاحتلال في مدينة أم فهم الواقعة في أراضي 48 المحتلة. واستهدفت الشرطة الإسرائيلية السيارة وأطلقت النار عليها وكان الرجلان بداخلها متهمة السائق بدهس ضابطي شرطة، مما أدى إلى إصابتهما ومقتل أحدهما لاحقًا.
* ازدادت وتيرة عمليات الخطف على يد مليشيات المجلس الانتقالي في عدن في اليمن خلال شهر تشرين ثاني / نوفمبر الماضي، حيث برز عددا من حالات الاعتقال غير القانوني والتعذيب والاختفاء القسري. وقد تم ربط المجلس بهذه الحالات بعد العثور على العديد من الشباب والأطفال في سجون يديرها أعضاء المجلس. وأوضح رئيس مرصد حقوق الإنسان، أن الاعتقالات والتعذيب وأساليب الترهيب غير القانونية المستخدمة بحق الشباب والأطفال تزداد مع غياب السلطة والقضاء المناسبين.
* تمكنت شعبة المخابرات بقوات الدعم السريع بشمال دارفور بالسودان من القبض على أفراد يستخدمون اسم شركة وهمية وتتلقى مبالغ مالية كبيرة من مواطنين ظنا منهم أن الشركة سترسلهم إلى السعودية للعمل كطهاة وإداريين مع قوات التحالف العربي. وقال رئيس الشعبة إن نحو 100 شاب وقعوا ضحية هذه العملية الإجرامية المنظمة، حيث دفع هؤلاء الشباب مبالغ كبيرة وأرسلوا جوازات سفر ووثائق رسمية أخرى بحجة استكمال إجراءاتهم لإرسالهم إلى الخارج للعمل.
* قدم المدعي العام في اسطنبول لائحة اتهام ضد 16 شابًا يشتبه في انتمائهم لشبكة تجسس للموساد في تركيا، وفقًا لتقرير موقع عرب 48. وأضاف التقرير أن 15 من المشتبه بهم فلسطينيون اعتقلوا خلال الأشهر الماضية فيما لم يتم اعتقال الأخير حتى الآن.
* نشر موقع صوت لبنان تقريراً يسلط الضوء على أن إدمان المخدرات في لبنان بين الشباب آخذ في الازدياد. ويشير التقرير إلى أن عدد متعاطي المخدرات في لبنان يزداد عاما بعد عام ومعه ارتفع عدد المروجين والتجار. ولا توجد إحصائيات واضحة حول عدد متعاطي المخدرات، لكن السلطات اللبنانية تنشر بشكل شبه يومي أنباء عن توقيف أشخاص يتاجرون بالمخدرات ويروجون لها أو يتعاطونها في مختلف المناطق اللبنانية.
* نشر موقع "ميدل ايست آي" تقريراً في 4 كانون الأول / ديسمبر يوضح إحباط الشباب الإيراني بشأن المحادثات النووية والعقوبات التي لا تنتهي. وتحدث الشباب الإيراني الذين تمت مقابلتهم، كجزء من التقرير، أن "حياتهم بأكملها تدور حول اليورانيوم وأجهزة الطرد المركزي والمحطات النووية" حيث رأى الشباب الإيراني سنوات شبابهم ضائعة في قضية لا تنتهي أبدًا. ويشير التقرير إلى انخفاض الدعم الواسع لبرنامج إيران النووي بين الشباب الذين ملوا من العيش تحت وطأة العقوبات.
* يتزايد زواج الأطفال في إيران حيث تزوجت أكثر من 9000 فتاة تتراوح أعمارهن بين 10 و14 عامًا في الربيع الماضي، وأكثر من 45000 فتاة تتراوح أعمارهن بين 15 و 19 عامًا تزوجن في نفس الوقت تقريبًا. يسمح القانون الإيراني بزواج الفتيات دون سن 13 عامًا بموافقة الأب أو المحكمة، وهو أمر ذكر منتقدون أنه لم يتم تطبيقه من قبل السلطات.
Development
* Dr. Ahmad Kamali, the deputy minister of planning and economic development, announced the initiative "Kun Safiran (Be an Ambassador)" to promote social awareness of sustainable development. This came during the first session under the title "Initiatives by the Ministry of Planning towards sustainability". This initiative targets journalists. Egypt has released 27 reports on the localization of the SDGs on the municipal level, becoming the only country in the region to release such a report. Kamali also stated that in the next few months, Egypt will release the first ever financing report for sustainability, the first of its kind globally to be published for a state, where previous ones were published on the global level.
* The branch of the National Council for Women in Beni Suef organized a 4-day initiative on sexism, misogyny, gender discrimination, and violence against women for youth of the male gender only. The initiative will be held in multiple locations, hosting 50 people each, in the presence of human development specialists and priests and sheikhs to promote the message of the event.
* The Aden Foundation for Arts and Sciences, in partnership with the Youth Government, held a training course titled “the Role of Youth in Peace and Social Security” in Yemen. The course, in which 20 trainees will participate, aims to establish a definition of the concepts of peace and societal security in its various forms and types and to involve young people in building peace along with preparing them for decision-making.

* أعلن الدكتور أحمد كمالي نائب وزير التخطيط والتنمية الاقتصادية عن مبادرة "كون سفيرا" لتعزيز الوعي الاجتماعي بالتنمية المستدامة. وجاء ذلك خلال الجلسة الأولى تحت عنوان "مبادرات وزارة التخطيط نحو الاستدامة"، حيث تستهدف هذه المبادرة الصحفيين. وأصدرت مصر 27 تقريرًا حول توطين أهداف التنمية المستدامة على مستوى البلديات، لتصبح الدولة الوحيدة في المنطقة التي تصدر مثل هذا التقرير. وذكر الكمالي أيضًا أنه في الأشهر القليلة المقبلة، ستصدر مصر أول تقرير تمويل من أجل الاستدامة، وهو الأول من نوعه عالميًا يتم نشره لدولة ما، حيث تم نشر التقارير السابقة على المستوى العالمي.
* نظم فرع المجلس القومي للمرأة ببني سويف مبادرة لمدة 4 أيام حول التحيز الجنسي وكراهية النساء والتمييز بين الجنسين والعنف ضد المرأة للشباب من الذكور فقط. وستقام المبادرة في مواقع متعددة، يستضيف كل منها 50 شخصًا، بحضور متخصصين في التنمية البشرية وقادة دينيين ومشايخ للترويج لرسالة الحدث.
* أقامت مؤسسة عدن للفنون والعلوم بالشراكة مع حكومة الشباب دورة تدريبية بعنوان "دور الشباب في السلام والضمان الاجتماعي" في اليمن. وتهدف الدورة التي يشارك فيها 20 متدربًا إلى وضع تعريف لمفاهيم السلام والأمن المجتمعي بمختلف أشكاله وأنواعه وإشراك الشباب في بناء السلام وإعدادهم لاتخاذ القرار.
Education
* The representatives of Aden Youth Consultations in Yemen met with the representative of the governor of Hadermout to discuss the necessary steps and inquire about funding for the establishment of the educational support fund. This is only one of a series of meetings the representatives of the Aden Youth Consultations have held to establish an educational support fund to help promote better education in Aden, as they deem education as a pillar in creating an industrial uprising in the city.

* التقى ممثلو استشارات شباب عدن في اليمن مع ممثل محافظ حضرموت لمناقشة الخطوات اللازمة والاستعلام عن تمويل إنشاء صندوق دعم التعليم. ويعد هذا الاجتماع واحدا من سلسلة اجتماعات استشارية عقدها ممثلو استشارات الشباب في عدن لإنشاء صندوق دعم تعليمي للمساعدة في تعزيز تعليم أفضل في عدن، حيث يعتبرون التعليم ركيزة في إحداث انتفاضة صناعية في المدينة.
Environment
* Mohamed Kaoud, board member of the Egyptian Youth Business Association, emphasized the importance of climate action after COP26 and reiterated the importance of abiding by the Paris Convention of 2016 to help limit climate change, citing it as law for climate action. He also stated that according to the UN Environment Programme, real estate is responsible for 38% of all CO2 emissions while consuming around 40% of global energy and pushed law makers in Egypt to force change for more sustainable housing and buildings for the current and future generation. Kaoud also stated that 63% of office employees stated that they would not like to work in a non-sustainable office. According to him, it would take 8 trillion USD to transform all current living spaces, buildings, and houses, to sustainable energy, and urged law makers to begin taking the necessary decisions to achieve that goal.
* Young Egyptian Engineer, Ahmed Diab who nominated for the Stephen Hawking International Prize in Science, said that he is working on developing thermal energy cells as an alternative to solar energy. He added that he searched inside plants for the substance responsible for absorbing light energy and extracted it to conduct experiments on it to produce energy such as solar energy.
* The Libyan Minister of Youth launched the implementation of the National Youth Voluntary Plan for Afforestation. Many young Libyan men and women are expected to participate to plant 10,000 trees.
* The "Zira'a" initiative, organized by the youth board of Ha'el in Saudi, was launched with cooperation from multiple governmental help. The secretary general of the board announced that the initiative aimed at planting over 3000 trees by its second year, to increase flora coverage, and halt deforestation and desertification. He stated that planting of trees had already begun and encouraged volunteering to the program.

* أكد محمد قاعود، عضو مجلس إدارة الجمعية المصرية لشباب الأعمال، على أهمية العمل المناخي بعد مؤتمر الشركاء 26 وأكد على أهمية الالتزام باتفاقية باريس لعام 2016 للمساعدة في الحد من تغير المناخ، مشيرًا إليها كقانون للعمل المناخي. وذكر أيضًا أنه وفقًا لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة، فإن العقارات مسؤولة عن 38 ٪ من جميع انبعاثات ثاني أكسيد الكربون بينما تستهلك حوالي 40٪ من الطاقة العالمية، ودفع صانعي القرار في مصر لفرض التغيير من أجل إسكان ومباني أكثر استدامة في الوقت الحالي وجيل المستقبل. كما ذكر قاعود أن 63٪ من موظفي المكاتب صرحوا بأنهم لا يرغبون في العمل في مكتب غير مستدام. ووفقًا له، فإن الأمر سيستغرق 8 تريليون دولار أمريكي لتحويل جميع أماكن المعيشة والمباني والمنازل الحالية إلى تلك التي تستخدم الطاقة المستدامة، وحث المشرعين على البدء في اتخاذ القرارات اللازمة لتحقيق هذا الهدف.
* قال المهندس المصري الشاب أحمد دياب الذي رشح لجائزة ستيفن هوكينج الدولية في العلوم، إنه يعمل على تطوير خلايا الطاقة الحرارية كبديل للطاقة الشمسية. وأضاف أنه بحث داخل النبات عن المادة المسؤولة عن امتصاص الطاقة الضوئية واستخراجها لإجراء تجارب عليها لإنتاج طاقة مثل الطاقة الشمسية.
* أطلق وزير الشباب الليبي تنفيذ الخطة الوطنية التطوعية للشباب للتشجير. من المتوقع أن يشارك العديد من الشباب الليبيين والشابات في غرس 10000 شجرة.
* انطلقت مبادرة "زراعة"، والتي نظمها مجلس الشباب في حائل في السعودية، بالتعاون مع جهات حكومية متعددة. وأعلن الأمين العام للمجلس أن المبادرة تستهدف زراعة أكثر من 3000 شجرة بحلول عامها الثاني، وذلك بهدف زيادة التغطية النباتية في المنطقة، ووقف إزالة الغابات والتصحر. وذكر أن غرس الأشجار قد بدأ بالفعل وشجع على التطوع للبرنامج.
COVID-19
* Maha Talaat, Regional Adviser to the World Health Organization, stated that thus far, and despite not enough knowledge on it, the omicron variant, which first appeared in South Africa on November 11, seems to be infecting youth disproportionately. This said, the effects have been similar to the original covid-19 symptoms, and that previously infected individuals were still capable of catching it. She recommended abiding by safety regulations to avoid it, as the number of people being hospitalized increased after the variant appeared.

Politics and Political Engagement
* The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) concluded a 6-week-training of the Naumann School of Politics in Jordan, graduating 35 participants. This type of training is unique, and its goal is to promote political participation, as well as make youth more active and involved in society, socially, politically, and economically.

* اختتمت مؤسسة فريدريش ناومان للحرية تدريبًا لمدة 6 أسابيع لمدرسة ناومان للسياسة في الأردن، وخرجت 35 مشاركًا. يعد هذا النوع من التدريب فريدا من نوعه وهدفه هو تعزيز المشاركة السياسية، وكذلك جعل الشباب أكثر نشاطًا وانخراطًا في المجتمع، اجتماعيًا وسياسيًا واقتصاديًا.
Economics and Entrepreneurship
* Saudi Arabia has been preparing itself for the youth bulge approaching it in the next few years. With 60% of its population below the age of 30, KSA is attempting to diversify its economy, especially after the drop in oil prices in recent years, to create job opportunities for emerging youth. We've seen a recent concern for entrepreneurship as well. KSA is addressing most of its issues including creating a more accessible and enjoyable environment to allow more social freedom and encourage people to invest and move into the country, as well as encourage citizens to spend their money locally. Their attempts at preparing the country for the upcoming youth bulge also included work on infrastructure and transportation. Companies that were already in the country for decades are now more ecstatic about working there with the recent improvements.
* As the global economy shifts from cash to digital, middle eastern youth are being left behind from the conversation. The lack of financial literacy education in the Middle East puts youth at a disadvantage, especially since bank accounts are not allowed for those under 18 and in some places 21. Two teachers and residents of the UAE are releasing an app aiming at teaching kids how to manage their money intelligently to incorporate youth into the growing digital economy.
* Supported by the Netherlands Government under PROSPECTS, UNICEF and ILO have collaborated to assist Iraqi youth in transitioning from training to decent employment. Participants of the supported life skills and entrepreneurship training programme through UNICEF are directed towards ILO’s employment-intensive investment programme, which focuses on infrastructure improvement and Green Works.
* Youth from the UAE engaged with experts in sustainability and technology from the industrial sector on November 26 and 27 at the Generation Future conference, part of the Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit (GMIS) Week.
* Kuwaiti Azzan Al-Zawawi is the youngest nominee for the award, which is organized by the American “Internet 2.0” Foundation to award the top people in the field of technology in the Middle East.
* Egyptian Youth Business Association was established, and the new administrative order was announced. Elections will soon be held to ensure the organization starts work soon.
الاقتصاد وريادة الأعمال
* كانت المملكة العربية السعودية تستعد لمواجهة التضخم الشبابي الذي يقترب منه في السنوات القليلة المقبلة. مع 60٪ من سكانها دون سن الثلاثين، حيث تحاول المملكة العربية السعودية تنويع اقتصادها، خاصة بعد انخفاض أسعار النفط في السنوات الأخيرة، وذلك لخلق فرص عمل للشباب الناشئ. ولقد رأينا أيضًا اهتمامًا حديثًا بريادة الأعمال. وتعالج المملكة العربية السعودية معظم قضاياها بما في ذلك خلق بيئة أكثر سهولة وإمتاعًا للسماح بمزيد من الحرية الاجتماعية، وتشجيع الناس على الاستثمار والانتقال إلى البلد، فضلاً عن تشجيع المواطنين على إنفاق أموالهم محليًا. كما تضمنت محاولاتهم لإعداد البلاد لمواجهة الطفرة الشبابية القادمة العمل في البنية التحتية والمواصلات. الشركات التي كانت موجودة بالفعل في البلاد لعقود من الزمان هي الآن أكثر سعادة بشأن العمل هناك مع التحسينات الأخيرة.

* بدعم من الحكومة الهولندية في إطار برنامج "فرص العمل"، تعاونت اليونيسف ومنظمة العمل الدولية لمساعدة الشباب العراقي في الانتقال من التدريب إلى العمل اللائق، حيث يتم توجيه المشاركين في برنامج التدريب على المهارات الحياتية وريادة الأعمال المدعوم من خلال اليونيسف نحو برنامج الاستثمار كثيف العمالة التابع لمنظمة العمل الدولية، والذي يركز على تحسين البنية التحتية والأعمال الخضراء.
* شارك شباب إماراتيون مع خبراء في الاستدامة والتكنولوجيا من القطاع الصناعي في 26 و 27 من تشرين ثاني / نوفمبر في مؤتمر جيل المستقبل، وهو جزء من أسبوع قمة التصنيع والتصنيع العالمية.
* عزان الزواوي الكويتي هو أصغر مرشح للجائزة التي تنظمها مؤسسة "إنترنت 2.0" الأمريكية لتكريم كبار الشخصيات في مجال التكنولوجيا في الشرق الأوسط.
* تم إنشاء جمعية شباب الأعمال المصرية وإعلان الأمر الإداري الجديد. ستُجرى الانتخابات قريبًا لضمان بدء عمل المنظمة قريبًا.
Conflict
* Belarus and Poland return groups of youth that attempted to seek asylum in their territories, sparking conversation regarding the increased immigration from the Middle East. Over 50% of youth outside the Gulf in the Middle East seek to immigrate due to economic and political reasons. Limiting the issue of youth immigration from the middle east to purely a security issue is causing issues, as most are immigrating for economic reasons, mainly lack of job opportunities. This changes the narrative and view of those seeking illegal immigration.
* International outrage after Iran executed 25-year-old Arman Abdul Ali based on a court order made when he was 17 years old. International organizations protested the decision stating that a minor should not be charged with the death sentence and that the "confession" from Abdul Ali was under the influence of torture and intimidation.
النزاعات
* أعادت بيلاروسيا وبولندا مجموعات من الشباب الذين حاولوا طلب اللجوء في أراضيهم، مما أثار محادثة بشأن زيادة الهجرة من الشرق الأوسط. يسعى أكثر من 50٪ من الشباب خارج الخليج في الشرق الأوسط للهجرة لأسباب اقتصادية وسياسية. إن حصر قضية هجرة الشباب من الشرق الأوسط في قضية أمنية بحتة يسبب مشكلات، حيث يهاجر معظمهم لأسباب اقتصادية، لا سيما نقص فرص العمل. ومن المتوقع أن تغير هذه المستجدات وجهة نظر أولئك الذين يسعون للهجرة غير الشرعية.
* غضب دولي بعد أن أعدمت إيران عرمان عبد العلي البالغ من العمر 25 عامًا بناءً على أمر محكمة صدر عندما كان يبلغ من العمر 17 عامًا. واحتجت المنظمات الدولية على القرار قائلة إنه لا ينبغي توجيه تهمة الإعدام إلى قاصر وأن "اعتراف" عبد العلي كان تحت تأثير التعذيب والترهيب.
Development
* The Hope Mars Mission that landed on Mars in 2021 had a large impact on space exploration for Middle Eastern youth, who saw their region as capable of achieving such goals, which had previously only been done by larger, more powerful nations. This has given rise to interest in space technology and aerospace sciences from Middle Eastern youth who grew up thinking that such a feat was impossible if you're middle eastern. However, the UAE has shown great possibilities by the region's youth, and KSA is slowly following in its footsteps.
* The Ali Zawa Organization is opening a new arts and cultural center in Marrakech called "Noujoum Jamea al fanna" on Friday, November 26. The opening will happen in the presence of the minister of youth and culture and communications, and this center will serve as a public space for youth to help them engage in different art and cultural activities.
* Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, met on Thursday with Dirk Konse, the regional director of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in the Middle East and North Africa. Sobhy emphasized the importance of cooperation between government agencies, private institutions, and civil society institutions in reaching the sustainable development goals. He, as well, spoke of the relationship between FNF and the Egyptian government, of which they signed an agreement with in 2018. The two also went over the details for the upcoming entrepreneurship and investment conference in December of this year.
* The Directorate of Youth and Sports in Sharkia Governorate organized a workshop on the art of (collage) within the plan of the central management of projects and youth training in the Ministry. The purpose of this workshop was to promote teamwork among the youth.

* كان لبعثة "أمل المريخ" التي هبطت على سطح المريخ في عام 2021 تأثير كبير على استكشاف الفضاء لشباب الشرق الأوسط، الذين رأوا أن منطقتهم قادرة على تحقيق مثل هذه الأهداف، والتي لم تكن تقوم بها في السابق إلا الدول الأكبر والأكثر قوة. وأدى هذا إلى زيادة الاهتمام بتكنولوجيا الفضاء وعلوم الفضاء من الشباب الشرق أوسطي الذين نشأوا وهم يعتقدون أن مثل هذا العمل الفذ كان مستحيلًا إذا كنت شرق أوسطيًا. ومع ذلك، فقد أظهرت دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة إمكانيات كبيرة لشباب المنطقة، والمملكة العربية السعودية تسير ببطء في خطاها.
* تفتتح منظمة علي زاوا مركزا ثقافيا وفنيا جديدا بمراكش في المغرب يسمى "نجوم جامع الفنا" يوم الجمعة 26 تشرين ثاني / نوفمبر. وسيتم الافتتاح بحضور وزير الشباب والثقافة والاتصال، وسيكون هذا المركز بمثابة مساحة عامة للشباب لمساعدتهم على الانخراط في أنشطة فنية وثقافية مختلفة.
* التقى أشرف صبحي وزير الشباب والرياضة في مصر يوم الخميس مع ديرك كونس، المدير الإقليمي لمؤسسة فريدريش ناومان في الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا. وأكد صبحي على أهمية التعاون بين الجهات الحكومية والمؤسسات الخاصة ومؤسسات المجتمع المدني في تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة. كما تحدث عن العلاقة بين مؤسسة فريدريش ناومان والحكومة المصرية، التي وقعا اتفاقية معها في عام 2018. كما استعرض الاثنان تفاصيل مؤتمر ريادة الأعمال والاستثمار القادم في كانون أول / ديسمبر المقبل من هذا العام.
* نظمت مديرية الشباب والرياضة بمحافظة الشرقية في مصر ورشة عمل عن فن (الكولاج) ضمن خطة الادارة المركزية للمشاريع وتدريب الشباب بالوزارة. وكان الغرض من هذه الورشة هو تعزيز العمل الجماعي بين الشباب.
Education
* The Ministry of Youth and Sports in Egypt organized an initiative under the title "Our values are our heritage", a national initiative to raise religious and moral awareness.
* McKinsey and Company announced the Forward project aimed at teaching MENA youth entering the work field skills they would need in their professional work. The project is targeted towards self-employed and employed individuals, spanning over 6 months.

* The “AR-ENA” team from the College of Business at the Middle East University (MEU) won the first place in the competition of Jordanian university students/ Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship for their project related to smart agricultural irrigation based on hydrogel to absorb clean water from the air.
* Protests in the Iranian city of Isfahan after the Zayandeh Rud River dried up causing water shortages in the city.

* Dr. Sarah Bader, spokeswoman for the World Youth Forum stated that preparations for the event that will be held in May 2022 are already under way. The WYF will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The forum will discuss the COVID-19 pandemic, creating job opportunities and the world beyond COVID-19, among other topics.

Politics and Political Engagement
* Between October 30 and November 2, the Conference on the Alternative Palestinian Revolutionary Path Movement (Masar Badil) was held in Madrid. This conference is meant to be a substitute to the other attempts at peace, by engaging the youth. Jaldia Abubakra, the coordinator of Masar Badil Madrid, stated that they "encourage young generations to assume their role, and for Palestinian women to play their role in liberation and return".
* According to a study led by the Lebanese Association for Educational Studies, the great influx of refugees in the country over the past years has emphasized the problems that the Lebanese youth is facing, especially in more marginalized regions of the country.
* Aziz Ahmed, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister, assisted to a panel named "Prosperity in Kurdistan and Iraq: Governance in the Modern Era". He emphasized the important role of the youth the Kurdish Government’s reform program and how the administration is working in order to provide more job opportunities for the youth in the region.

* في الفترة ما بين 30 تشرين الأول (أكتوبر) و2 تشرين الثاني (نوفمبر)، انعقد مؤتمر حركة المسار الثوري الفلسطيني البديل (مسار بديل) في مدريد في اسبانيا. ويهدف هذا المؤتمر إلى أن يكون بديلاً عن محاولات السلام الأخرى، من خلال إشراك الشباب. وقالت جلديا أبو بكرة، منسقة مسار بديل مدريد، إنهم "يشجعون الأجيال الشابة على القيام بدورها، وتشجع المرأة الفلسطينية على لعب دورها في التحرير والعودة".
* بحسب دراسة أجرتها الجمعية اللبنانية للدراسات التربوية، فإن التدفق الكبير للاجئين في البلاد خلال السنوات الماضية قد أكد المشاكل التي يواجهها الشباب اللبناني، خاصة في المناطق الأكثر تهميشاً في البلاد.
* ساعد عزيز أحمد، نائب رئيس ديوان رئيس وزراء إقليم كردستان العراق، لجنة بعنوان "الرخاء في كردستان والعراق: الحكم في العصر الحديث". وشدد على أهمية دور الشباب في برنامج الحكومة الكردية الإصلاحي وكيف تعمل الإدارة من أجل توفير المزيد من فرص العمل للشباب في المنطقة.
Economics and Entrepreneurship
* The Parliament and civil preparation department of the youth and sports Directorate in the Menoufia governorate of Egypt, carried out a workshop to train young people on small projects and how to integrate the labor market in the conference hall at the Directorate headquarters in the city of Shabin al-Koum. Ihab Hegazy, Regional Director of the Enterprise Development Authority in Menoufia Governorate, stated that the agency's services include financial services represented in granting loans to young graduates starting from 500 pounds to 10 million pounds with a low financial interest and large grace periods, helping them get started right after graduating.
* According to the study "The economic and social aspirations of youth" published by UNICEF, the Jordanian youth's transition to adulthood has not met expectations, regardless of the increase in education. The study found that the youth reach financial independence later than expected. This study provided policy recommendations meant to assist the youth in this transitional period of their lives.

* نفذت دائرة البرلمان والإعداد الأهلي بمديرية الشباب والرياضة بمحافظة المنوفية في مصر، ورشة عمل لتدريب الشباب على المشروعات الصغيرة وكيفية دمج سوق العمل بقاعة المؤتمرات بمقر المديرية بمدينة شبين الكوم. وصرح إيهاب حجازي المدير الإقليمي لهيئة تنمية المشاريع بمحافظة المنوفية أن خدمات الجهاز تشمل الخدمات المالية المتمثلة في منح قروض لشباب الخريجين تبدأ من 500 جنيه إلى 10 ملايين جنيه بفائدة مالية منخفضة وفترات سماح كبيرة تساعدهم على البدء مباشرة بعد التخرج.
* بحسب دراسة "تطلعات الشباب الاقتصادية والاجتماعية" الصادرة عن اليونيسف، فإن انتقال الشباب الأردني إلى مرحلة البلوغ لم يرق إلى مستوى التوقعات، بغض النظر عن الزيادة في التعليم. ووجدت الدراسة أن الشباب يصلون إلى الاستقلال المالي في وقت متأخر عما كان متوقعا. قدمت هذه الدراسة توصيات سياسية تهدف إلى مساعدة الشباب في هذه الفترة الانتقالية من حياتهم.
Conflict
* A young Palestinian man was killed by live bullets in Tubas, during clashes between Palestinian demonstrators and Israeli forces. Other young Palestinians suffocated by tear gas threw by the Israeli authorities on Tuesday.
* On Wednesday evening, Israeli occupation forces executed a young Palestinian from Jerusalem, for allegedly attacking settlers in the Old City. According to Israeli police, Omar, the young man, had tried to stab two settlers, injuring them.
* More than 100 public figures from all around the world signed a letter condemning Israel's decision to name 6 Palestinian organizations as terrorist groups. These groups have been banned in Israel for allegedly being too closely associated to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, though there is no reliable evidence backing this claim.
* Following the problems at the Belarus borders, the Kurdistan region of Iraq declared that it would be radically addressing youth migration in the region. It had been revealed that many of the migrants in Europe were Kurds. up until now, there has not been any specific efforts to prevent exodus. A possible solution would be to integrate the youth into the economy, by giving them work opportunities.
* Abdullah All-Zaher, a young Shiite man was released from prison in Saudi Arabia, after being imprison for participating in protests the government during the Arab Spring. He had initially been sentenced to death, but his sentenced was replaced by 10 years in prison. He was released at the end of his sentence.

* قتل شاب فلسطيني بالرصاص الحي في طوباس، خلال اشتباكات بين المتظاهرين الفلسطينيين والقوات الإسرائيلية. أفاد شباب فلسطينيون آخرون أنهم اختنقوا بالغاز المسيل للدموع الذي ألقته السلطات الإسرائيلية يوم الثلاثاء.
* أعدمت قوات الاحتلال، مساء الأربعاء، شاباً فلسطينياً من سكان القدس، بزعم الاعتداء على مستوطنين في البلدة القديمة. وبحسب شرطة الاحتلال، حاول الشاب عمر، طعن مستوطنين وإصابتهما بجروح.
* وقع أكثر من 100 شخصية عامة من جميع أنحاء العالم على رسالة تدين قرار إسرائيل تسمية 6 منظمات فلسطينية كمجموعات إرهابية. وتم حظر هذه الجماعات في إسرائيل بزعم ارتباطها الوثيق بالجبهة الشعبية لتحرير فلسطين، على الرغم من عدم وجود دليل موثوق يدعم هذا الادعاء.

Development
* Ain Shams University organized a conference to raise awareness of drug addiction among the youth. This conference, titled "You are stronger than drugs" was held in the presence of the several experts. It demonstrated the dangers of drug addiction and the diseases that it can cause, as well emphasized the role of friends and family in helping prevent it.
* According to Omar Al-Azzam, the Jordanian Ministry of Youth has been making significant progress in the past few years in empowering the youth. It launched several programs and projects meant to provide support, training and advice to the youth and over 201 youth centers have been opened across the Kingdom. These initiatives helped emphasize the increasingly important role of the youth.
* A ship of the Royal Navy of Oman arrived at Port Salman on Tuesday, with 30 students on board, most of them from GCC countries. This is part of a 28-day academic program held for the youth, which will end with "Shabab Oman II" participating in the Expo Dubai 2020.
* Libyan Minister of Youth Fathallah Al-Zani stated that the National Youth Council will meet for the first time to discuss the issues of the youth. Furthermore, the President of the National Unity Government will begin the second phase of implementing benefits and facilitating marriage for younger people.
* The World Youth Forum in Egypt celebrated the opening of registration for the fourth edition of the forum, which will take place from 10 to 13 January in Sharm el-Sheikh, in the presence of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. The main objective of the forum is to build common spaces for collective action among young people of different nationalities, beyond the borders of countries, cultures, and ethnicities, and to achieve the highest level of understanding of others, with the hope of ending conflicts in different regions of the world.
* Several training courses were organized across Egypt, aiming to educate business owners of the importance of e-marketing and e-commerce, while teaching them marketing methods, to help enhance their businesses. These free training courses were organized by Egyptian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA).
* The Egyptian Presidential Program for Qualifying Youth for Leadership announced the opening of applications for a new batch of trainees in the Presidential Program for Qualifying Youth for Leadership. Launched in 2016, this program is meant to promote leadership among the youth, while giving them the skills and knowledge necessary to take on administrative tasks. Several graduates from this program have gone on to work in state institutions.
* Shamma bint Suhail bin Faris, the Minister of State for Emirati Youth Affairs, launched the youth empowerment model at the youth pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. This is part of the UAE's efforts to institutionalize youth empowerment within the country and mark the UAE as a model for youth empowerment worldwide.

* نظمت جامعة عين شمس مؤتمرا لتوعية الشباب بمخاطر الإدمان على المخدرات. عقد هذا المؤتمر الذي حمل عنوان "أنت أقوى من المخدرات" بحضور العديد من الخبراء. وأوضح مخاطر الإدمان على المخدرات والأمراض التي يمكن أن يسببها، كما أكد على دور الأصدقاء والعائلة في المساعدة على الوقاية منه.
* وفقًا لعمر العزام، أحرزت وزارة الشباب الأردنية تقدمًا كبيرًا في السنوات القليلة الماضية في تمكين الشباب. أطلقت عدة برامج ومشاريع تهدف إلى تقديم الدعم والتدريب والمشورة للشباب وتم افتتاح أكثر من 201 مركز للشباب في جميع أنحاء المملكة، حيث ساعدت هذه المبادرات في التأكيد على الدور المتزايد الأهمية للشباب.
* وصلت سفينة تابعة للبحرية السلطانية العمانية إلى ميناء سلمان يوم الثلاثاء وعلى متنها 30 طالبا معظمهم من دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي. هذا جزء من برنامج أكاديمي مدته 28 يومًا مخصص للشباب، وينتهي بمشاركة "شباب عمان 2" في إكسبو دبي 2020.

* أعلن البرنامج الرئاسي المصري لتأهيل الشباب للقيادة عن فتح باب التقديم لدفعة جديدة من المتدربين في البرنامج الرئاسي لتأهيل الشباب للقيادة. تم إطلاق هذا البرنامج في عام 2016، ويهدف إلى تعزيز القيادة بين الشباب، مع منحهم المهارات والمعرفة اللازمة لتولي المهام الإدارية. ذهب العديد من خريجي هذا البرنامج للعمل في مؤسسات الدولة.

* Al-Mansur youth and Sports Forum in the Nineveh governorate of Iraq organized a training and Educational Course in Computer Science in cooperation and coordination with REACH organization, which lasted for two weeks, with 15 people participating.
* Electronic security expert Amr Othman explained how it is possible for electronic pirates to obtain sensitive information, such as bank account details. For this reason, he decided to launch the “I was hacked” campaignto raise awareness of electronic piracy among the youth, in schools and universities.

* نظم ملتقى المنصور للشباب والرياضة في محافظة نينوى بالعراق دورة تدريبية وتعليمية في علوم الحاسب بالتعاون والتنسيق مع منظمة ريتش، والتي استمرت لمدة اسبوعين بمشاركة 15 شخصا.
* أوضح خبير الأمن الإلكتروني عمرو عثمان كيف يمكن للقراصنة الإلكترونيين الحصول على معلومات حساسة، مثل تفاصيل الحساب المصرفي. لهذا السبب، قرر إطلاق حملة "لقد تعرضت للاختراق" لنشر الوعي بالقرصنة الإلكترونية بين الشباب في المدارس والجامعات.
Environment
* The One Million Youth Volunteers for Climate Adaptation initiative in Egypt is meant to spread awareness of the challenges posed by climate change, according to Hossam El-Din Mahmoud. Moreover, this initiative has the objective of assisting the Egyptian state in adapting to climate change. This is vital in a context where the Arab Youth is growing increasingly concerned with climate change.
* The second edition of the Solar Decathlon Middle East (SDME) is being held in Dubai between November 11 and November 25. This competition brought teams coming from 12 different universities, who are tasked with designing and building sustainable houses, using solar power. The objectives of this competition are consistent with the MENA's rising interest for renewable energies.

* تهدف مبادرة المليون شاب متطوع للتكيف مع المناخ في مصر إلى نشر الوعي بالتحديات التي يفرضها تغير المناخ، وفقًا لما ذكره حسام الدين محمود. علاوة على ذلك، تهدف هذه المبادرة إلى مساعدة الدولة المصرية في التكيف مع تغير المناخ. هذا أمر حيوي في سياق يتزايد فيه اهتمام الشباب العربي بتغير المناخ.

* According to World Youth Forum spokesperson Sarah Badr, the COVID-19 pandemic will be one of the main topics of discussion during the fourth edition of the World Youth Forum. She stated that there would be sessions focused on the role of international institutions in fighting the pandemic and the digital transformation of the post-pandemic world.

Politics and Political Engagement
* The Associate Press reported on November 13 that Sudanese security forces fired live ammunition and tear gas to disperse protesters denouncing military’s tightening grip on the country, killing at least five and wounding several other pro-democracy protestors who protested against the military coup. During the protests, youth activists said, “youth will not give up and will not stop this revolution until we achieve its goals.”
* The Tunisian Labor Union called for a general strike in the town of Aqareb after a young man was killed due to excessive use of tear gases following protests in the city regarding the re-opening of a trash dumping site that was closed in September after citizens complained of chemical waste being dumped there.
* Palestinian youth, among other groups, came together to protest the recent Israeli decision to classify six Palestinian NGOs as terrorist groups, citing violations to international law and freedom of speech. The group called out to the UN to pressure the Israeli government to revoke its decision.
* On November 12, hundreds of Jordanians marched in downtown Amman in protest of rising prices and defense laws that have granted the government extra-constitutional powers. The report by the New Arab added that, according to the IMF, over half of Jordan’s youth are unemployed, with the rate among women is considerably higher than that of women.
* The 13th edition of the Amman Security Colloquium will be launched on November 17, with participants from Arab and international figures and group of senior speakers. The forum will include sessions on the Arab region and Turkey, addressing concerns and cooperation – including maritime security, Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty, enhancing the role of women and youth, their inclusion in security and disarmament issues, and security challenges in the region.
* The Revival of Libya Political Party was announced on November 11 as a new political party headed by Aref Al-Nayedh. Al-Nayedh spoke upon the inauguration that this party is a coalition of several parties, blocs, organizations, associations, federations, and individuals – who have a shared vision of reviving Libya, ensuring its security, impartial judicial system, innovation, and youth and women empowerment.

* BBC published a report discussing the drivers of youth emigration in the MENA region, highlighting that security and the economy are two of the main push drivers, leading youth to leave their home countries in an increasing fashion over the past few years, especially when it comes to illegal migration. The report illustrates that migration has resurfaced, as thousands of immigrants from the MENA region are stuck between Poland and Belorussia. The report then focuses on Jordanian youth, citing a recent poll by the International Republican Institute which found that 45% of Jordanians aged 18-35 are thinking seriously about emigrating to secure their futures and improve their livelihoods. A Gallup poll also shows that 52% of youth from the MENA region prefer emigrating indefinitely, as an Arab Barometer-BBC joint poll showed alarmingly high percentages of youth who were willing to emigrate without documentation.
* Consultant and e-commerce expert in the Middle East Salim Hammad stated that over two thousand Jordanians currently work at Amazon, which he said showed Amazon's trust in Jordan. This came after the inauguration of the new Amazon head office in Jordan. Hammad highlighted Amazon's support for youth through their tertiary education and careers, and the job opportunities that will be created from this opening.
* Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi welcomed Jordanian Crown Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah II in Cairo. The president praised the prince's participation in the World Youth Forum. The two signed a memorandum of understanding to increase cooperation on SMEs, a task both Jordan and Egypt had focused on in attempt of limiting youth unemployment. The pair also discussed reviving the peace talks for the Israeli Palestinian conflict and ways of enhancing cooperation with Iraq.
* Dr Amr Talaat, Egyptian Minister of Communication and Information Technology, met with Tomaso Rodriguez, Executive Direction of Talabat, and both emphasized the role that Egypt has played in the company, which has been present in the Middle East and North Africa for over 17 years. The minister highlighted the increase in investment for youth trainings, pledging to train 200,000 Egyptian youth, and both discussed establishing a technical school to train youth on programming.
* Lausanne-based Nestlé Research & Development Accelerator hosted the swiss-Middle East Circular Economy for Youth Initiative (SMECEYI). The winner was a group from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik in Lebanon. The goal of the initiative was to strengthen Swiss relations with the region in terms of education and research. The goal for the teams was to come up with executable projects that can address the issues of electronic, water, food, plastic, and construction waste. The six finalists were from Palestine, UAE, KSA and Lebanon.
* Youth unemployment in Turkey fell in September to 21.5%, decreasing 0.9 points from the month before according to the Turkish Statistical Institute.
* Arab News reported on November 14 that Saudi Arabia’s crown prince announced the establishment of the first non-profit city in the world, to be a model for the development of the non-profit sector and an incubator for youth and volunteer groups as well as local and international non-profit institutions. The city will also look to contribute to the goals of Mohammed bin Salman Misk Foundation in supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, and qualifying future leaders by defining non-profit work in its internal operational concept and in terms of opportunities and youth training programs it will provide.
* Journalist Lamis Hadidi announced on her show "Kalima Akhira" the opening of a region-wide entrepreneurship and business start-up competition, where entrepreneurs are going to be given the chance to showcase their business on television to millions of viewers.

* تراجعت بطالة الشباب في تركيا في شهر أيلول / سبتمبر إلى 21.5٪، بانخفاض 0.9 نقطة مؤية عن الشهر السابق وفقًا لمعهد الإحصاء التركي.

Conflict
* An Israeli sniper shot and killed teen Mohammad Da’das Friday during a peaceful protest against Israel’s theft of Palestinian land. Mohammad was the 15th Palestinian child killed in the West Bank in 2021.
* After receiving a tip from a country they described as an "ally", the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of four involved in recruiting male youths to work for Hezbollah in Syria and Yemen. The four are now being tried on the latter, as well as money laundering for Hezbollah and drug trafficking in Syria and Yemen.
* Hezbollah supporters attacked youth comedian Hussein Kaouk with insults and death threats after a satirical video about political parties in Lebanon hinted at Hezbollah's relation to the currency depreciation and lack of US dollars in the market. As a response, Hezbollah opposition rallied around Kaouk in solidarity of his right to freedom of expression.
* The government of Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRG) announced that it would seek to control the illegal immigration towards that Belarusian and polish borders by creating more job opportunities and supporting youth to prevent them from attempting illegal immigration. As of right now, hundreds flock to the Belarusian borders from Kurdistan due to regional instability.
* Farhang Faraydoon Namdar wrote for the National Interest on “Why are Kurdish Youth Fleeing Iraq en Masse?” Namdar indicates that Kurdish youth are exclusively focusing on leaving for Europe, often not discouraged by the reality of the dangers of the irregular migration paths, with a young Kurdish saying, “even if I know I will die on the way, I do not want to die here.” Thousands of Kurdish immigrants began crossing the Belarusian border into Poland, as the Polish prime minister issued a hardline statement, saying that Poland’s border “is not just a line on a map.” Namdar highlights that KRI has been experiencing high unemployment and low wages, as more than 98% of university graduates are unable to find jobs.
* A report indicated that the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) has been working over the past 4 years on recruiting children and adolescents from Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), including Kirkuk through influencing them brainwashing them through social media or through their networks on the grounds. The recruits are transferred to Qandil area where the PKK headquarters and its camps lie, without their families’ knowledge. US State Department reported in July that the PKK has recruited hundreds of children from Sinjar and used them as fighters in their Sinjar Resistance Units, a PKK affiliate.
* Mohammed Abu Dalhoum wrote an article for Arab News titled “Urgent action required to prevent a new wave of terrorism”. He argues that current security, political, and socioeconomic conditions in the MENA region are perhaps worse than they were in 2011, at the start of Daesh’s recruitment of fighters, and that indicates major warning signs for policy makers and international organizations to preemptively act to prevent a new wave of violent extremism in the region. He adds that youth in the MENA region are especially susceptible to recruitment, especially that Daesh is resurfacing publicly in Iraq. He says “today, the early warning signs are crystal clear; efforts ought to be centered on preventing violent extremism projects. Millions of dollars have been spent on countering violent extremism projects, yet the conditions are now ripe for a Daesh 2.0 that may be as destructive as its predecessor.”

* أطلق قناص إسرائيلي النار على الشاب محمد دعدس وقتله يوم الجمعة خلال احتجاج سلمي على سرقة إسرائيل للأرض الفلسطينية. محمد هو الطفل الفلسطيني الخامس عشر الذي يُقتل في الضفة الغربية عام 2021.
* بعد تلقي بلاغ من دولة وصفتها بـ "الحليف"، أعلنت وزارة الداخلية الكويتية عن اعتقال أربعة متورطين في تجنيد شبان للعمل لصالح حزب الله في سوريا واليمن. تتم الآن محاكمة الأربعة على تهمة تجنيد الشباب، بالإضافة إلى غسيل أموال لحزب الله وتهريب المخدرات في سوريا واليمن.
* هاجم أنصار حزب الله الفنان الكوميدي الشاب حسين قاعوق بالشتائم والتهديدات بالقتل بعد أن ألمح مقطع فيديو ساخر عن أحزاب سياسية في لبنان إلى علاقة حزب الله بانخفاض العملة ونقص الدولار الأمريكي في السوق. ورداً على ذلك، احتشد حزب الله المعارض حول قاعوق تضامناً مع حقه في حرية التعبير.

Development
* The psychological counseling unit at the Gaza-based Kayan Cultural Center has begun including music therapy with traditional psychiatric treatment, after witnessing an increase in mental health disorders of up-to 21%. This treatment has shown minor success with patients thus far.
* Dalia Ismail Taeb, former Chairman of the Health Committee of the Egyptian Youth Business Association, called for finding an alternative for chemotherapy, as a response to the increasing number of cancer patients in Egypt. She called for increasing funding for research for alternatives, as well as increasing funding.
* The Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction organized a ceremony in cooperation with the Institute for Leadership Development in Helwan (Egypt) to receive 500 new young volunteers at the institute’s headquarters, under the slogan “Our Strength is in Our Youth,” including PhD and master’s holders out of a total of 1,600 young men and women who applied to join the Fund’s volunteers.
* Al-Jouf Youth center in Saudi Arabia concluded the “Creative Empowerment for Individuals” program. The program stemmed from the belief that creative thinking among individuals builds the culture of creativity in entrepreneurship and is concerned with strategic planning.

* بدأت وحدة الإرشاد النفسي في مركز كيان الثقافي في غزة بتضمين العلاج بالموسيقى مع العلاج النفسي التقليدي، بعد أن شهدت زيادة في اضطرابات الصحة العقلية تصل إلى 21٪. أظهر هذا العلاج نجاحًا طفيفًا مع المرضى حتى الآن.
* داليا إسماعيل طيب، رئيسة اللجنة الصحية السابقة لجمعية شباب الأعمال المصرية، دعت إلى إيجاد بديل للعلاج الكيميائي، استجابة لتزايد أعداد مرضى السرطان في مصر. ودعت إلى زيادة التمويل للبحث عن البدائل، فضلاً عن زيادة التمويل.
* نظم صندوق مكافحة وعلاج الإدمان احتفالاً بالتعاون مع معهد تنمية القيادات بحلوان (مصر) لاستقبال 500 متطوع شاب وشابة جدد بمقر المعهد، وذلك تحت شعار "قوتنا في شبابنا." وكان من ضمن المتطوعين شباب من حملة شهادات الدكتوراه والماجستير، من إجمالي 1600 شاب وشابة تقدموا بطلبات للانضمام إلى متطوعي الصندوق.
* اختتم مركز شباب الجوف بالمملكة العربية السعودية برنامج "التمكين الإبداعي للأفراد". ينطلق البرنامج من الإيمان بأن التفكير الإبداعي لدى الأفراد يبني ثقافة الإبداع في ريادة الأعمال ويهتم بالتخطيط الاستراتيجي.
Education
* Al-Safwa Youth Forum in Yemen launched the Charitable Fund to Support Education Aden. During the inauguration, the head of the Forum said that this fund collects donations and charitable support to support volunteer teachers, adding that this project will contribute to supporting the educational process and increasing the number of teachers in schools to sustain the educational process. At the end of the ceremony, the Forum honored 360 teachers from the various schools of the district with financial prizes and certificates of appreciation.
* Al-Wasatiyah Female Youth Center, in Jordan, conducted a workshop titled “Harnessing university education for the requirements of work in the service of society.” The focus of the session was about the criteria for choosing a major, its importance, its foundations, how to harness the capabilities and capabilities of an individual to choose a university major, future job opportunities, the advantages of university studies and its importance in achieving goals. Further, Al-Tiba Female Youth Center conducted an activity entitled “educational values and their impact on behavior.”

* Members of THIMUN Qatar – a Model United Nations initiative under Qatar Foundation (QF) Pre-University Education met with climate activists in Glasgow, Scotland and discussed the lack of actions regarding their active participation in the climate change discussion. They voiced how they no longer want to just be "heard” but wish to see action. Qatar was one of the countries to participate in the Youth4Climate summit in Milan, Italy, the predecessor of the COP26 Glasgow Conference. They emphasized the importance of including climate change issues in education curricula to educate youth on issues that affect their countries, so that they would be more motivated to speak up.
